My table is better. My table is much better, but it didn’t cure some of the worn spots, it did, however, get rid of where someone had placed a hot bowl. I followed all instructions, used steel wool and followed with their wax. I will continue using it because it is still the best I’ve ever found.
Amazing for scratches. I had a walnut stained door that my big dog scratched the heck out of during a thunderstorm. This product was amazing! You can’t even tell there were ever scratches after applying this walnut stain. I’m going to do all my scuffed looking walnut stained kitchen cabinets, etc. next!
Excellent restore. My front door was white from the sun shining on it constantly. To get it redone would cost a couple of hundred dollars. A neighbor recommended and I tried it. So far so good. My door door looks great!
Stain. i used this on the restoration of a 95 yr old rifle and this product made the wood stock come out brighter and the smell was not bad, after i got the final shade i desired the shine was amazing. easy to use but make sure to shack the can before using it to make sure that everything gets mixed up in the can.
Great product. I saw this on tic toc didn’t know if it would work as it stated bit it did. If you have an old home it makes the doors and wood work look amazing. Very easy to ise
Gets the job done. Before you hire someone to refurbish those wood cabinets, try this! My cupboard were looking worn and faded. It took less than 2 hours to apply to our kitchen cabinets and they look like new! I highly recommend.
Howard Restore a Finish. This is some very nice stuff. I definitely Did Not want to strip and sand the wood. It gave it a really nice look without all the work! Love it!
Works better than most scratch cover products. This makes things look really good and is so easy to use. I have a lot of dark wood furniture in my home and it just gets beat up and tired looking with everyday wear and tear. This does a great job of moisturizing the wood and enhancing the finish. It will cover minor scratches but larger ones only works to diminish the color differences. I used it on 4 different pieces of furniture and all had good results. This stuff seems to reach all the nooks and crannies quite easily. It doesn’t take a whole lot either. I would buy this again. It DOES NOT work at all on removing white marks. Maybe mine had been there too long. A dry iron set to cotton using a thin cotton cloth to lay down on the mark while pressing was needed to press the white marks away.
It works absolutely Amazing. I have 2 dark china cabinet’s and this stuff brang back the shine to both of them, fixed all the scratches, and gave it the color right back exactly the Way it used to look
Worth Every Penny. Howard’s Restor-A-Finish worked wonders on my old, scratched-up wooden dresser! It was so easy to apply, and in minutes, it brought back the wood’s natural beauty without the hassle of a full refinishing. Scratches and dullness disappeared, leaving a clean, subtle sheen that looks authentic—not overly polished. This product saved me time, effort, and money, and now my furniture looks refreshed and well cared for. Highly recommend!
Amazing. I used this to revitalize a very sun damaged door and my kitchen cabinets from 20+ years of wear and tear. It was easy to use and did an excellent job filling in the damaged areas and making the oak overall just more vibrant.I did need to apply more pressure and product on the worst of my rough areas to get a good application. But as you can see from my photos, it is a night and day difference.I am also glad I went with neutral instead of golden oak. Based on other review photos the golden oak looked a lot more dark and brown toned than my oak. The neutral blended in perfectly and didn’t look too dark.
Amazing improvement to old kithen cabinets in 1 hour. My kitchen cabinets, made of cherry plywood, are about 50 years old. They were in such horrible condition that I was thinking of painting them. There were large areas of that were missing not only the surface finish, but even the stain. In other words, they were down to bare wood in spots. I panicked when a realtor made an appointment to evaluate my house the next day!I wasn’t sure if Howard’s Restor-a-Finish would work after watching a YouTube video called “Where Restore-A-Finish works best and where it will not!” That video states that it will only work on shellac or lacquer finishes. It says it won’t work on polyurethane or polyacrylic finishes and that the test for those finishes is to apply some alcohol to the finish and rub it with a swab—if the color comes off, Restor-a-Finish WILL work on it. I did that test and no color came off. I decided to proceed anyway, testing Restor-a-Finish on the the back of a door. That went well, so I applied it to all 14 cabinets and 6 drawers. The result was amazing. I couldn’t believe my eyes. The parts that were worn down to bare wood were about 75% improved—not perfect, but much, much better. The remainder, where the finish was worn but the color was still there, were 100% better. The sheen is a pleasant sort of “egg shell,” not flat but not too shiny either. The realtor didn’t notice anything amiss with the cabinets!I was lazy and didn’t even wash the cabinets before starting. They still came out great. The best part is that the whole job took less than one hour! I don’t know how this product works, but it does. It’s like magic. One caveat: it smells pretty bad, so do open a window, but the smell disappeared quickly after the job was done. I spilled some on the floor tiles and it wiped up easily.Definitely one of my best Amazon purchases. It saved me a huge amount of money and/or time and probably added to the value of my house.

Stunning results. We are nearing the end of renovating our 104 year old craftsman duplex. The owners unit has original dark oak woodwork which we kept. We previously cleaned it with Murphy’s oil soap which did remove grime, so an essential step. But it still look dull and lifeless. We started in just the dining room today but the result is stunning. It now looks like well maintained 104 year old trim. It would have been wrong if it looked brand new.I will try to add photos tomorrowIt is easy to use although I recommend nitrile gloves like I used.

Great for it’s intended use – restoring existing finish. This stuff is super easy for even a total beginner. What it’s *best* at is helping to lift scuff marks, ie stuff on top of the existing finish that you don’t want. It’s also good at evening out the finish – kinda like blurring primer for your face? Or top coat on a smudged manicure? Cuz what it seems to do is slightly soften the existing finish, then enhance/ blend it with the tint of whatever color you chose.I used Dark Walnut, and it worked fine on 3 different pieces of furniture that were all different shades of medium-dark brown. What it doesn’t work for:• filling in scratches• evening out dents or nicks in the wood itself• covering specks of bare woodMaybe unsurprisingly, I got better results on my higher quality pieces of furniture. On cheap veneer, i was left with kind of a scratched up mess.
Works great. This works great and so easy to do. Wipe on and let dry! Used it on my island and my old liquor cabinet. Next time I will use a light steel wool to removed white blemishes first. Definitely made both look like new. First two pictures are my island before and after. Second 2 is my old liquor cabinet
Did a great job, low odor easy to use. I do very few Amazon reviews. This one was worth reviewing. Thanks to all those that shared before me and helped me make my choice.I did my pine bedroom set. I was amazed how easy it was to apply. I used paper towels. No lint. Could toss after use into a sealable plastic bag.It took about an hour to do a dresser, head and foot board and night stands. It has a gloss-not high gloss -which is great. Almost all of the scratches, except fairly deep ones, disappeared. I did not try the steel wool.I think I will touch up with paint set I bought on Amazon.I was going to call professionals to do it. Glad I tried this first.I think I used less than half of the twelve ounces.
