  1. A great product from the engineering team behind Sennheiser!! EPOS H6PRO is a must-buy. UPDATE 2-3 WEEKS LATERThese headphones are amazing, probably even better than I originally thought. The no distortion at max volume thing is putting these actually ahead of the *ahem* other headphones I mention below. Comfort level is INSANE. I wear these all night and forget I’m not listening to my home theater. And I’ve got Emotiva T1+’s driving my front soundstage, so that’s saying something.I did order the GSX 1200 (I got the 1200 opposed to the 1000 because it was the same price renewed), so I will try to update more when that arrives.Bass response is wicked. Wicked. Punchy clear piano notes, heavy guitar riffs, clear solos and thumping melodies for a motherboard amp. Gaming is fun and exciting.ORIGINAL REVIEW:i enabled music equalizer in Dolby Access app along with Dolby Atmos spacial audio, and am currently testing music.these are NOT primarily for music, but it’s nice to know they are very clear, dynamic, and responsive.they PROBABLY require an external sound card. BUT , they are leagues above what i had before for gaming headset, the “cheap” $60 Corsair HS60comfort level? off the chartsbass response is not in your face. its more warm and laid backmy Sony h.ear on 2 WH-H900N will be my main music listeners..they arent as comfy as this headset, the EPOS are WAY more comfortable, and in terms of sound quality, the SONYs are superior, especially in the low end realm, but this is fair since –they are also in the $300 price bracket ?? where the EPOS H6PRO are $180so far the EPOS with Dolby Access set to MUSIC: WARM EQ PRESET, they’ve handled Sia, Alice in Chains, and some Eminem, and everything has been fairly enjoyableTaylor Swift’s “Wildest Dreams” is wonderous and dreamy.. rhythmic and emphatichighs are bright, expansive, roll off nicely, warm, and wonderymids are just there. you don’t want them not there, and you don’t want too much. lots of punchy and grindy effects play fantastically.low end: needs EQ, but, with the EQ they really do sound pretty good.. there’s no distortion that’s for sure. not muddy. pretty clear. i don’t know what to say. it’s not in your face, but it’s there.all in all, they PASS the music test. they’re about 90-95% of my Sony’s in total sound quality, for a good 65% of the price.i am too tired to try gaming right now, or the headset, but i know it works.COMFORT: 10/10EASE OF USE: 10/10FEATURES: 8/10 (could use actual mute button, and USB-C connection)SOUND QUALITY: 9/10MIC QUALITY: untestedVALUE: 10/10

  2. Super stiff pads and no bass. I have the closed back version of these and those are surprisingly good for FPS and single player games.I do not like the open back ones at all.I have tried or own the following headphones and headsets:- Sennheiser HD 560S- DT 990 Pro 80 ohm- Sennheiser PC38X- EPOS H6Pro closed and open back- EPOS H3Pro Hybrid- Corsair HS80 RGB- Razer Blackshark V2 Pro wirelessThe EPOS H6Pro open back headset lacks bass. Like all of it. The audio sounds hollow and airy. There is no body or “oompf” to any of it.The earpads are stiff and uncomfortable. The earpads for the open and closed backs are swappable. I tried this because the closed back earpads are comfy and great. The only thing this did was severely reduce the soundstage of the open backs and did almost nothing to improve the complete lack of bass.I do not recommend the EPOS H6Pro open backs at all. The closed backs have just as good soundstage and imaging but have bass. The microphone is good and clear. Not much else to say about that.

  3. Really nice, sounds great. Comfortable, sound great and mic is great. Biggest issue is its 3.5 jack so you don’t get mic passthough into the headset without a USB connection software.. also wish they had a mute built in..

  4. So close to being perfect. I have tried THREE versions of this headset, because of how badly I wanted to make them work. The PROs:- Excellent, and I mean, EXCELLENT sound quality: No headset has been able to rival (for me). The sound is just beautiful and I’m not a big sound nerd AT ALL.- Comfortable: The headset has the perfect amount of padding on the top band and the ear cups fit fantastic. It is nice and adjustable for a variety of head sizes. The cups do not hurt after long hours of use.- Lightweight: the headset rests nice on your head and doesn’t feel bulky or heavy. This again helps with long hours of use!- Settings: there are many settings to change the sound as you like.- Quality mic: you can whisper at just about your lowest you can and your friends will hear you, but it still blocks out ambient noises in the room. LOVE the mic quality and the sound quality especially. The CON:- Connectivity: this is where I just couldn’t get past. I have tried THREE of these headsets, hoping that I just kept getting a “lemon” until I finally gave up. The headset continuously disconnects and it seems to be connected to the mic somehow. If I get disconnected, I have to detach and reattach my mic and suddenly it seems to work. I am not sure if this would be solved if you had a desktop/computer mic and never used the mic on the headset. I know I had the boom mic flipped up during times of disconnection and STILL had to detach and reattach, so I don’t believe using a desktop/computer mic would solve this issue. A lot of other people have also experienced this and I hope EPOS is able to resolve it. I ended up with a set of Steelseries Arctis 9 Wireless. I really didn’t want them to work, but they were the headset that I have been looking for for so long (good sound, connectivity, etc) – just in case I can save someone from the long months of research and trial and error I had with various headsets.I really hope EPOS can fix this issue one day or recreate this headset without the magnetic attachment of the mic. I wonder if this is the reason for the disconnectivity issues.

  5. You need a amp. I realized pretty quick with my lastsennheiser headset they are terrible without an amp. Pisses me off they advertise they’re plug and play. So what I use: I have a external sound blaster GC7(does great for audio, microphone quality, and mic monitoring) paired with steel series GG for surround sound. Overall though, I’m pretty happy with this headset, went from their game zero, definitely get a better seal on my head for noise canceling while not completely squishing my head. I have a larger size head which I feel like most guys have so I don’t get why most headsets are made for 12 year olds and females but this headset definitely isn’t uncomfortable which is 100% my main concern. Good sound, I no audiophile but sound is great. Also the cord doesn’t have memory(so far), even if gets tangled it doesn’t keep that shape. I’m very happy with this head set, don’t think it was a huge improvement from the game one but it’s definitely better. Overall I’d recommend it if you’re gonna invest in an amp and take the time to adjust your settings, cause it’s definitely not a plug and play headset.

  6. Best overall gaming headset I have used. I was looking for a headset to better hear footsteps in call of duty mw2 and this headset delivered great on xbox. The noise isolation is superb and the directional audio is great. There’s no need to use dolby or any other sound virtualizers as it sounds great out of the box.

  7. This is my everyday headset somehow I never thought I would use it so much. I love the details and clarity just wish they could be slightly more comfortable the mic is literally in my mouth I think it’s a nice headset overall and nice design nevertheless.

  8. Sound quality isn’t meant to be a standard headphone. As an audiophile, gaming headphones have never really been amazing for me, but, rather, they’ve all mostly been pretty terrible. For one, “gaming” headphone sound is meant to be tuned so you can hear the sound fx in a video game. All the tiny little gunshots, footsteps, voices maybe, explosions, and so on. To be honest, even for a gaming headphone, they didn’t do all that much. Footsteps could barely be heard, gunshots were loud and crisp, explosions were explosions, footsteps didn’t exist, but the directional sound is really good. Now, one ick that I have for these is that the setup generally isn’t that easy. I mean, it’s just plug and play, right? Yes, for the most part. My peanut brain found it difficult, ONLY because I simply didn’t push the cord in far enough, but even then the audio kind of crackles and gets wonky if you don’t put it in perfectly. If you are looking for good sound and decent gaming experience, go with the Razer Black Shark V2 or the Razer Kraken Tournament Edition. Both are great. Black Shark is more immersive for gaming and ehhh for overall sound. Kraken is pretty much balanced perfectly among all sound. Music is great, gaming is immersive. However, the mic quality on any headset you get unless its $250 or more will be terrible.

  9. Design and Quality. This one is a keeper. Box presentation felt and looked profressional to open. Overall design of the headset is unique and screams excellence. No RGB needed. No detail of the design was overlooked. Unique detachable mic and cover for it. Everything around the headset and build quality felt premium, and did look or feel like it t was made out of cheap plastic. The sound quality was surperb out the box, plugged directly into the controller gaming device. I’d recommend it more, however, EPOS had discontinued their gaming headset. I would say the only thing missing was a Xbox wireless version plus a LED Mic/Mute indicator close to the mouth piece like the Xbox wireless headset. I can wear this for hours, and not notice any heat build up or discomfort, even after taking them off.

  10. Not bad but great at a used price point. I bought these used for 60$ used completely worth it because I’ll really only be using with the steam deck on flights where closed back is needed. I have the open back ones already and much prefer the sound stage on those. If you want zero outside noise and only hear the game. The closed back hands down are the ones for you. Less sound bleed on the closed back, so if you are gaming in a room while someone is watching a movie these don’t bleed sound as much as the open back.Open back: wide sound stage less bassClosed back: narrow soundstage more bass. These things sound identical to my closed back GSP but way more comfortable. The bass is noticeably crisper and less muddy, still has that “scoop” sound profile that all sennheiser/epos closed back headsets have. Mine had no rattling.Been trying a plethora of DAC’s and the GSX1000 adds the icing on the sound profile like I expected too. But other dacs such as the x4 do a good job as well. Little fat down low but the clarity is still there. They do sound great plugged into standard jack ports on my pc. You will experience bad sound quality if your device can’t drive these headphones. 280ohm impedance so keep that in mind when buying. Among the game series, GSP series, and the h6 series. These are the most comfortable of the 3.I like the open back better, the gsx dac really bumps the bass and makes the soundstage wide. Hearing distant skirmishes and artillery really feel distant with the open. You get a similar experience with the closed back but the difference is enough for me to chose the open back as my preferred headset.
