  1. XL worked for my 115 lb English (pocket) Mastiff. We have an elderly English mastiff rescue who was surrendered due to a littlle incontinence and allergy issues. She is our pocket mastiff cause she only weighs 115 lbs and is our smallest furry family member. Sbe hates her toes clipped so we had the vet attempt the task which took four lab techs and two separate attempts to complete the daunting task. She might have some hyena and dingo in her genes cause of her power and evasion moves.I ran across this grooming hammock completely by accident while checking out doggy probiotics options that may help with her unfortunate allergies, although our raw diet has alleviated the vast majority of her symptoms. I also ordered Floro Rope Clip Grow Light Hangers, 2 for under $7, that can support up to 150 lbs each.Drilled a couple holes in our 2×8 floor/ceiling joists and Installed two hooks for suspending the grow light hangers. Over the next few days we left the grooming hammock laying on the floor so she had to walk by it and get use to it. Then we placed her in it a couple of times while just holding the hammock by hand then had treats and play time afterwards. Suspended her in it without doing anything but giving affection then let her down and had treats and playtime. Finally, placed a table under the suspension system, got her in he hammock and lifted her on the table then hoisted her just enough that she could not leverage her Tasmanian Devil attributes to avoid her new shoes. She still gave a valiant attempt to pull her legs away but we got those sharp little daggers off her paws. Turns out she hates the toe clippers but is fine with nail filing, by hand, so I’m gonna try the Dremel next time and leave the clippers for the other furry family members that almost sleep through their pawdicures.Glad I came across this grooming hammock, it made a maddening experience into a quick and relatively painless task. Now that she has had a good experience followed by Greenie reward the process should continue to evolve into a routine rather than terrifying chore. Eventually she might not require suspension at all.The hammock could use some Velcro on the suspension arms that would allow the two front arms then the two rear arms to connect whilst one is attempting to wrangle paws into the leg openings thus making it easier for one person to perform the task while the dog is performing evasion tactics.Did not use any of the other items provided. The nail clippers provided are for small dogs or cats, the file isn’t the type or size we use, use file from human pedicure. No need for scissors especially around a crazy dog attempting to escape, just becomes a prison shank followed by police reports and an ER visit.

  2. For the win. 105lb German Shepherd that does NOT like his nails trimmed… vet wants an arm and a leg to do it and no groomer will entertain the idea.I put him in this and used the loader on the tractor to lift him up. Trimmed his nails without an issue thanks to this. 4 stars because i feel if he thrashed around enough he may be able to still slip out of it.

Perfect for nervous GS. I ordered this, as taking my dog to the vet to be sedated was getting out of hand. For reference, I have a 57lb german shepherd who does’t like you to touch her paws. We’ve only had her for about 6 months and we are working on her trust issues, but this is actually helping. I bought a pull-up bar and use it to hang her from and then use a dremel to file down her nails (I ordered so many dog nail files and none of them worked quick enough before panic set in…the dremel works exteremely quick…in and out…) I now file her nails a little each week, so that she is used to me touching her paws and no longer pulls away. She literally just hangs there for the two or three minutes that it takes and then I take her back down and give her a treat and she goes about her day. This has been a huge life-saver!

  4. This thing is great. Need to buy anchors or hooks to attach to the clips to. Nail trims are so much easier! My sweet little fat pug absolutely hates nail trims. He’s about 30 pounds and because of his shape is near impossible to hold for nails prior to this harness. Usually we can get 3-4 nails before we give up. It was a little difficult figuring out how to get him in the harness – did we put him in and then lift the harness onto the hooks or hook the harnes up and then place him inside. The second one was near impossible even with a few of us holding him. We managed to get him in the harness and then one of us held him while the other hooked the harness into the hooks.I still made sure we held onto him and lifted some of his weight off the harness (this was mainly because I was scared of “what ifs”) while clipping his nails. The clippers that come with it are really great. You will need to buy the clips/anchors to go into your ceiling or door frame to hook the harness hooks into. I didn’t think of that when I bought it. Definitely worth the money. Now I can nail trims on my own without paying $30 for the vet or groomer to do it

  5. Nail Clipper Fear-No Problem. I tried every type device and technique but one of my dogs would not tolerate her nails being trimmed until I got this suspending hammock. I had to buy my own hooks, and used a counter height chair under a closet rod to put it on the dog and hook to the closet rod, then slowly removed the chair. I was able to then safely clip all front nails on the first try! The dog was busy trying to figure out why she was flying and didn’t put up a fuss for a few minutes, then a back foot found the wall and she was able to get some traction and protest so the session ended. I will have to find a place to suspend her completely away from any walls to be successful with all four paws next time. Gave only 4 stars because it came without hooks or suggestions where to hang. My dog was well supported, safe from injury, and thoroughly distracted. Excellent tool for the clip-fearful dog!

  6. AMAZING. Had to grab an arm bar and cam buckles, but once set up, it was perfect! I got the XL. I have 3 bullies, medium to XL and it fit all of them just fine. One of my lil guys had a traumatic nail clipping really young, but they HATED nail trimming/filing. ALL 3 got in, and all but 1 sat pretty still, with little resistance! It definitely helps to have a helper, my husband and daughter helped give rewards and keep from too much fear. I was astounded! Definitely recommend!

  7. Not Perfect but, a game changer in our house. I wish I could have taken photos but, our first round was a bit of trial and error mixed with minor chaos. We have three dogs in our house and was able to use this on all of them. It was not a perfect fit for any of them but, got the job done. We have not been able to trim our dogs nails on our own for some time as none of our dogs are big fans and it has proven much easier and quicker to pay someone. However, this can be a lot of time and money with three dogs.Notes – we also purchased an inexpensive nail grinder on amazon. My husband was able to quickly clip nails and then I went behind and used the grinder for smoothing. With our dogs we placed a table underneath them. Got them on the table then placed them in the hammock. While I held the hammock up, my husband used ratchet straps to hook to the hammock and lift them up. We used an exposed floor joist in our basement as the support. With our dogs we found that they had to be lifted completely off the surface both front and back so that they could not make contact and push off. One of our dogs found a work around this by pushing off of my husband while clipping. Two of our dogs are large and wigglers, so it helped that I comforted them and gave them treats to keep them still (food worked as treats as all three of our dogs are very much food driven). Now for the dogs and fit. You want to make sure you have the hammock laid right to begin with. I laid it on the table before lifting the dogs onto the table so that I could put their feet in and lift up. Our oldest and largest boy is a chunky lab/hound mix weighing in at about 84lbs. I would have preferred a bit longer hammock for him but, it supported his weight just fine. As he wiggled around he ended up with the front of the hammock sliding down and pushing on him in a way that did not look very comfortable – luckily we were close to done. Our second is a german sheppard weighing in around 70lbs. The hammock fit him the best as he is lean – he was the most active boy and for this a slightly bigger hammock would have also been ideal. Lastly, we have a mini aussie, a chunky girl weighing in between 30-35lbs. The hammock was a little long as far as leg spacing but can bunch up to make work. Having the most available fabric around her, the size actually worked best to helo ensure that she did not escape or wiggle out.We were able to clip all three dogs nails in about thirty minutes with all the change outs and two adults. Yes I would definitely recommend this for those that need another option for trimming nails at home. I would definitely purchase this again and will be on the search for a larger size for more comfort for our guys.

Whoa, game changer. My 11 1/2-year-old dog never had to get her nails clipped until last fall. This was a big deal since she never had them done before and now she just freaks right out when having them nails done, hence, a few nails have been cut too short because she struggles so hard. This hammock was absolutely perfect and exactly what we needed. If you struggle cutting your dogs, nails, you need this in your life. The only hard part is putting the dog in it if you have a larger dog and you don’t have help. My dog is 70 pounds and there’s no way I could’ve lifted and clipped the hammock in by myself. But, once the dog is up there and in place as pictured in the pics, it is a godsend product!!!!

  9. Beyond pleased. We bought this product with complete skepticism. This has been hands down the best way to successfully clip a very aggressive dogs toenails. We have an American bulldog that’s a rescue from Kansas. He’s came a long way considering his not so great walk of life. In the past we have had to clip one nail at a time while bathing him. That’s 20 baths and by the time you finally get them done it’s time to start the whole process all over. We used a winch to lift our 110 lbs of joy and a bag of pepperoni. He was not crazy about being lifted in the air but didn’t thrash around at all. We clipped all back toenails with ease but did put a muzzle on him to due the front as he was uneasy being able to see what was going on. This didn’t stress him out at all and he was able to eat treats with ease. Way better alternative to being sedated. Was totally safe for my husband, our dog and myself.

  10. Works great. This works great! Our Cane Corso has hated her toes touched since she was a puppy. We have tried everything and it’s become such a big deal and stressful for her, this was our last resort. She gets right into her harness , and just hangs there like a good girl. I pet her and calm her while my husband cuts her nails. So quick so easy and after she gets so happy when its all done . I’m sure it is way easier with a small dog. Luckily my husband is able to pick her up. Great product!

  11. Too short. Seems well made but too short for my standard goldendoodle. It fits our English bulldog well, so we will keep it. If you have a long bodied dog, you may need to size up.

  12. Smaller than I thought it’d be. Its perfect size for my cat, I originally got it for my dog(beagle) But I guess he’s bigger than I was thinking for the hammock. But either way works great for the intended purpose. I got a second one but bigger cause I have a bigger dog(pit) But it wound up being perfect size for my beagle.

  13. Great buy. Works exactly as advertised! Trimming and grinding my dog’s nails was a breeze! She’s only 9 months old and made it through like a champ! Great product, would buy again.

  14. Should’ve bought sooner. I have a very stubborn bulldog and boston terrier. This has been the ONLY way I can clip their nails or clean their paws. It’s made of quality materials and the clippers included work great!

  15. Holds a Malamute. Great product – holds our 65lb malamute well – only thing I worry about is if the carabiners are strong enough. Might have to replace them in the future.

  16. Work for a hyper schnauzer. I wish I would have had this year’s ago!! It was so easy to trim my schnauzers nails! Normally he nips at me, and he wiggled a bit, but it was so quick and easy!!!!

  17. Didn’t work for our GSD. The suspension did not work for our 70 lb. Female GSD. Partly because she squirmed out of it. the XL was too small for her, even though I ordered the size based off the product recommendations. We are Keeping only because the clippers were new/sharp and worked well. We ended up clipping her nails and filing with a dremel. It seems like a great product for smaller or less anxious dogs though!

  19. Works great. I normally don’t write reviews but this product is awesome. I took my dog to petco to get her nails clipped and they could not do it. She hates having her paws touched but she doesn’t bite. They said I needed to take her to the vet and have her sedated. I did not want to do that so I ordered this to try to do them myself. I have a hard time keeping her still as she’s strong. This worked great and she stayed still most of the time. We took breaks when she felt overwhelmed just because I wanted her to feel calm. She is a great dog but she loves to play and hates staying still. This was a life saver!!

  20. A must have for all dog owners. This product is amazing! My husband bought it for cutting out dogs nails. It used to take two of us and it was like wrestling an alligator! 🐊 He would get away everytime! This product makes him hold perfectly still! I am amazed out how easy it is to cut his nails! The fit is perfect. It is a heavy weight that it won’t rip. Where has this been all our lives?!! Purchasing another for our smaller dog!
