More than 40 years ago this simple hearing protector, the world’s first foam ear plug, revolutionized hearing protection in the workplace and has remained to this day one of the most widely used earplugs in the world. The 3M E-A-R Classic Ear Plugs OCS1137 are constructed from slow-recovery, low-pressure foam. They fit snugly to create a noise barrier that helps protect hearing from loud sounds. These ear plugs are stiff enough when compressed to make fitting easy, yet soft enough to be comfortable in the ear for extended wear. Bright yellow color allows supervisors to conduct quick visual hearing protection compliance checks. Recommended applications include chipping, chiseling, drilling, furnace operations, grinding, heavy equipment operations, machining, pouring/casting, power fastening, riveting, sanding, sawing and welding. These earplugs are commonly used in the following industries: agriculture, automotive, chemicals, construction, general manufacturing, healthcare, oil and gas, and pharmaceuticals. These regular size earplugs comfortably fit most people. These ear plugs have a Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) of 29 dB, CSA Class AL. * These earplugs can be fit tested with the 3M E-A-Rfit Validation System. Moisture resistance helps maintain a consistent fit, even when humidity is present. Not only is noise present in our daily routines, but millions of Americans work in hazardous noise on a daily basis. Estimates from the National Institutes of Health suggest that approximately 15 percent of Americans (26 million people) between the ages of 20 and 69 have high frequency hearing loss due to exposure to noise at work or during leisure activities. BEST FOAM EAR PLUGS – BEEN USING THIS STYLE FOAM FOR DECADES. I had been buying the Flent’s Quiet Please for decades. In 2023 they changes the formula to some cheap light foam and they did not stay in when sleeping. I bought these 3M ones and found these to be superior and even better than the old style Quiet Please.

They block out sounds just as well, are perfect for sleeping and long term use, and don’t irritate ears if you leave them in. The only downside is that they don’t return to their original shape very quickly or easily, and they are not skin color. Overall, I now consider these to be some of the most comfortable earplugs on the market!

Should’ve Switched to 3M E-A-R Sooner! Incredible Noise Reduction, Comfort and a Great Bulk Price. I’ve ordered earplugs for sleeping from Amazon for many years. Recently, my favorite manufacturer (rhymes with ‘wentz’) changed to a ‘new & improved’ version that was anything but. After extensive research, I decided on these 3M E-A-R plugs. I’m pleasantly surprised to find that they work considerably better than the other brand and cost half as much!These E-A-R plugs provide noticeably better noise reduction and can be reused for at least 3 nights before they start losing their shape and effectiveness. They are the same dimension as the other brand and every bit as comfortable. The material is slightly denser which probably explains their greater effectiveness. Lawnmower and engine noises that used to constantly wake me up with the other earplugs are barely noticeable with these. In fact, the first night I tried them I slept right through my alarm because I simply didn’t hear it. Highly recommended!

Work pretty well. The ear plugs I relied on for many years had a change in manufacturing that rendered them useless. Because another person wrote a review that said these are a good alternative to those plugs I decided to try them. They do work well, are stiff but moldable enough to conform if held in place for a short while. Will keep purchasing for sure. I bought the big pack and each pair is in a separate little cardboard fold up so easy to carry with. I sleep in these and they block sounds all night.
Work great. Could be just a touch longer for my old hands to insert. But, they work great!

Relieved to find these…. After using this type of ear plugs for many years, I have come to rely on them in order to sleep. I would periodically get a multipack every so often, from a variety of retail sources including drug stores and online from Amazon. But somewhere in the last two years every retailer and manufacturer seems to have changed the material of their foam earplugs to a smoother foam texture or surface. The smoother plugs are uncomfortable to me and repeatedly slide out of my ears. I was in a panic that I might never be able to sleep peacefully again after numerous purchases that seemed like these, only to find they were the smoother new material. In desperation I bought this MULTIPACK (as in much bigger quantity than my usual purchases) for a reasonable price hoping they were the plugs I craved.I am thankful to God and 3-M that these were indeed the good kind. I now have at least a ten year supply, but that just makes me feel less anxiety about being able to find them. They work great and are all in convenient packs of pairs that I can easily grab on the go if staying overnight at a hotel or a friend’s.
What. I’ve been using these earplugs for decades. I used to work in an industrial facility and let me tell you. THEY WORK. If your ear canals are a little wide and not too deep, you can’t go wrong here. They can be reused a few times. I’ve introduced these plugs to some of my friends and now they’re spoiled as well. If you’re headed to a muisic concert, you can’t beat ’em. All the great sound comes through with none of the head pounding noise. I use them when I go bowling and the house is full. BTW, clean your hands first.’Nuff said
Great, simple earplugs that just work. For more than 15 years, I used to use another brand that had similar shape and material, but they recently changed material and those plugs no longer worked for me. It took me few month to try other ear plugs and see which ones worked for me. I finally found these ones. I like how they fit my ears. They may not feel soft before you put them in, but ones they are in, I do not feel them at all, there is no pressure, very good sound isolation, I could barely hear only very loud noises. I sleep well with these earplugs. I already bought it several times (200 packs) and I have no plans of changing. The only thing is I wish they didn’t come in individual packaging (2 plugs per pack).
Great Foam Ear Plugs. I bought the large box of 200 pairs of yellow 3M E-A-R Classic ear plugs. Each pair comes individually packaged in a paper sleeve. They are the same size and feel exactly like the Flents Quiet Place and Mack’s ThermaFit ones did until both companies changed their formula. These aren’t too long and are very comfortable, conforming to the shape of your ear canal. The only difference is that they are yellow instead of tan.
Is your hearing important. How important is your hearing? These comfortable ear plugs are soft and effective, reducing noise for lawn mowers, riding tractors, weed wackers, grinders, snoring from a loved one, TV to loud for your partner to hear, crank it up and put your plugs in, you can still hear and understand a conversation. They are a great gift too. Bring some to your next concert. Did I mention boating or drag racing.
The only ear plugs. These are so comfortable and really block loud noise. I wear them at concerts, the gym, and the movies. I used to use the same one over and over and now since I have 200 I have stashed them all over the house, car, etc. This way my ears are always protected!
Great ear plugs. These work better than any other ear plug I’ve tried! The squared end actually allows it to go deeper into my ear without going so deep at the tip it becomes sensitive. They stick very well and can be reused if clean 4-5 times without losing their spring back unlike the other ones I’ve tried. I go into loud shops every day and have tried just about every ear plug and these are hands down the best. I also wear them to sleep often and they are comfy all night. Excellent noise cancellation.
