Be patient, it took around 2 1/2 weeks to see improvement. I have two dogs, one is a probably a lab/boxer/pitt mix, the other a chiweenie (chihuahua /dachshund mix). My lab mix was suffering from mild allergy type itching mostly on her paws. My chiweenie was super itchy all over all the time. It started this fall. He has always been an itchy dog in seasonal allergy peaks but usually benadryl or hydroxyzine helped. Not this time.A vet visit led us to Apoquel (sp?). The treatment he needed for most possible relief was around $150 a month. We did a half dose and paid around $80 plus vet visits and testing. He was better but not as great as we wanted. We could not afford the Apoquel monthly in full dose and the half was only somewhat helping but we could definitely tell a difference. So I started searching for alternatives. Burts Bees conditioning spray, helped my lab, nothing for my chi. Paul Mitchell dog conditioning treatment (not a huge difference on either dog), I use Pet Solutions shampoo and saw only a few hours relief.I found these in my search for more solutions and the reviews had me sold. I could not wait to try it with my fur babies. They loved the taste and would do their tricks for them.After two and a half weeks I hadn’t seen major differences in my little chiweenie. I was so sad, I thought this might be the winner and a lifesaver for us all. After seeing some more reviews about time, I told my husband I thought we needed to wait a bit longer, so we kept our patience. By the third week our dog is 95% better with itching, gnawing at his skin, and scratching roughly. I honestly believe these are miracles for my pups. The only downside is the price.I wish it were a bit cheaper since I have to buy it monthly for my two dogs. IT sure beats the price of apoquel and vet visits tho.I have to add to this review as I have ventured away to cheaper products (recently deals from Prime Day) to try to get my dog relief AND my wallet relief…and I’m back again to order this. It seems to be the only thing that helps my chiweenie. My lab mix does fine with the other brands. I just wish they were not raising the price steadily on this product. Can’t we keep a helpful product at a decent price? Zesty Paws is clearly growing in popularity and selling more. Why do you have to charge more? Ah, the American way I suppose, but we’ll keep doing what’s best for our pets, and this certainly is the best so far. Well wishes to all the pets, and their caring owners.
Great for seasonal allergies. I am a retired veterinary technician and have a dog who has seasonal allergies, and food allergies. His symptoms consist mostly of scratching at his face, and chewing his feet. The food allergies have been controlled by putting him on a limited ingredient diet. The seasonal allergies usually started up in April and last until November, and required antihistamines. Last spring my vet convinced me to try the prescription medication Apoquel which is an immunosuppressive. At first it seemed like magic, my dog had zero allergy symptoms. Then after being on the medication for a few months, my dog developed a histiocytoma (a benign tumor) on his lip. These are typically seen in puppies and young dogs – my dog was 4 yrs. old at the time. These usually go away on their own after a few months and that is exactly what happened – no big deal (other than a trip to the vet to confirm that it was in fact a histiocytoma and not a more aggressive tumor). Several months later, while still on Apoquel, my dog started chewing on his right front leg, up near where the leg and body meet (his front “armpit” if you will). He was also shedding like crazy – HUGE amounts of fur. He ended up with a large area of hair loss and red angry looking skin on his right front leg. He would not leave it alone. This happened after the allergy season. I bought a sleeve to keep him away from it, and took him to the vet (again). She did a skin scraping to check for bacterial infection, yeast infection, or mange which were all negative, and then suggested putting him on prednisone (another immunosuppressant) in addition to the Apoquel and Zyrtec. I told her I had been reading up on Apoquel and some of the side effects included histiocytomas and demodectic mange. I told her I was going to pull him off of the Apoquel (which needed to be done by weaning over a few weeks). She suggested I could try a dose of Bravecto which is used for fleas and ticks, but also is very effective in treating demodectic mange mites just in case the negative scraping was due to a low population of mites. Within a week of getting him off of the Apoquel and using the Bravecto his skin calmed down, and at that time I noticed that his entire coat was thinning – more noticeably on his right side. Once he was off of that nasty drug it took a few months for his fur to grow back. This year before allergy season started, I decided to read up on supplements for allergies. I chose Zesty Paws because of all of the good reviews, and the company’s reputation. I started giving them to my dog in March and now well into allergy season have not seen ANY of his usual allergy symptoms. Also, his coat looks beautiful again!
Pitbull lab seasonal allergies eyes. I have a Pitbull lab mix and since last summer time her eyes started to get very itchy to her and would make her skin around her eyes swell and become very nasty. I was taking her to vet constantly to get them flushed and checked for cuts on them but nothing. I was giving all these medications that seemed to work but was a hassle to give her and the ointment on her eye was also hassle since she would wipe it off. During the winter it went away and then it started coming back early May. I realized it must be a seasonal allergy and my vet quoted me 300 just for the allergy test. No meds. So I did a lot of research and seen adding fish oil/omega 3 into her diet could help. Problem is she isn’t a dog that eats her food at certain times we leave food out/down all day for them so they can nibble as they please. So I knew I would have to give it to her orally and that seemed like a mess. I found these on chewy website but they only had the large quantity available and I didn’t want to waste that much money for it to not work. So I went here and found then a placed an order. Got them the next day (thank you next day delivery) and started off with one a day and then progressed it to two times a day (one in the am and the other in the pm) and I will say these have definitely worked! Her eye isn’t 100% back to normal but a good 85-90% up close you can see the skin that she rubbed off but it’s so much better. She does still scratch/rub it a few times a day but only for a second before stopping. These have worked so well and she loves to get them because they taste like lamb and I don’t have to force it down here throat.First two photos are from last year. She is drugged up in the first one and the second one was nearing the end of the summer.The third pic is from a few days ago. You can see the spares hair around the eyes but as you can see it’s much better and in control. I’m so glad I found this and didn’t waste hundreds of dollars for meds and testing

Zesty Paws responst to “Cannot be opened”. After posting the following review, I contacted Zesty Paws. They were very professional and polite. I explained about the product and the fact that it could not be opened (not with a hammer, not with a knife, not with hot water, not in this life). They issued a new product to replace stubborn one. After the call with them, I gave it one more try. The cap finally gave. There was glue stuck to the plastic cap and the seal that protects the product. It finally gave and I immediately contacted Zesty Paws and gave them the good news. They are still sending replacement product and reporting my findings. Thank you, Zesty Paws.I actually love this product and so does my dog. The last container could not be opened. I unsealed the cellophane wrap and removed it. When I tried to twist open the container, the top would not budge. I tried everything I could think of to open it. No luck. Since it is non-returnable, I guess I’m stuck with the product and out of pocket cost of approximately $30.
It’s working. First, my Peanut would itch like crazy! Almost constantly and no matter what I tried, it didn’t work. 1 spray kind of worked after a bath but she hates sprays & hated & didn’t trust me for a long time. I got this yesterday, gave 2nd dose today and OMG, it’s working already!! Was sceptical but I feel so happy for her! She scratches very little now, thankfully! See, I live where they spray for insects outside weekly and believe that’s why she’s scratching so much. Will go down to half a chew in a month and if that don’t work, spending less than $30 for 90 days is cheap compared to apoquel and shots from the vet that were more than double monthly & didn’t work. This is 100% true review from Florida where we have bugs galore!!! So if you’re thinking about buying this, give it a try. Your pet may love you for it, mine does!! 👍
Provides Relief, worth the buy, but doesn’t fully eliminate the problem. These things smell terrible, but my dog loves them and that’s all that really matters. I don’t smell anything on her breath too often so they don’t linger too terribly. She still kinda itches a little bit but it’s far less frequently than before the chews. So they must be giving her some type of relief, but doesn’t fully eliminate the problem obviously. Overall, it’s worth the buy. 8/10 for efficiency. Flavor must be a 10/10.
Results came sooner than I thought. Within 10 days I noticed a substantial improvement with my dog’s itching. His fur started growing back in the areas that he had bitten and chewed. He loves the flavor of the “treats” and gets so excited when I shake the container. I am happy I bought these. I feel better knowing I provided my dog relief. I will continue to buy this product!
Great Product. Our Cockapoo would have terrible itching episodes that would go on for weeks and would reoccur several times a year. It would make her life (and ours) miserable. We tried everything from special shampoos to different supplements but nothing worked. Her vet would give her some kind of steroid or cortisone shot but warned us that it was not healthy for her to have the shot too often. Finally a friend suggested we try Zesty Paws Dog Allergy Relief treats for her. These treats are a godsend. We give her one treat a day. She loves them and they work. It’s been over 2 years since we started giving them to her and she has had zero itching episodes. If I could give it 10 stars I would (so would my sweet dog).
Only a slight improvement in scratching. We are giving these to both of our Pomeranians as they have allergies that cause them to have dry itchy skin. One of our poms scratched so much she was causing bald spots on her sides. This flair up may have been from the shampoo used at the groomers but she has the allergy most all year. This medication slightly lessened their scratching but has not stopped it. I have purchased tee shirts for them which save the hair from being scratched off.
