  1. First impression is good. I just got this 50lb bucket of chlorine. I weighed it immediately because I’ve read several reviews that said the weight was short. With the bucket, it weighed 49.8 lbs– I’m ok with that.I removed the packaging around the bucket in my living room. The bucket is fine, I have zero problems with it. It opened very easily (see the red clippy in my picture). It opened and closed/locked with very little effort. So I took the lid off for about 3 seconds to see what was inside and my eyes watered, the smell of chlorine was overpowering! Last time I do that if I’m not outside!!I’ll start using this chlorine later today, probably (I have a little left of the last bucket of chlorine (different brand)). I just wanted to post that the weight and the bucket were as expected. Not saying the bad reviews were mistaken, but my experience has been no less than expected (so far!).Hope this helps someoneCouple of weeks later…So far so good. The granules dissolve more slowly than my other brand of chlorine. I pour the chlorine into my skimmer basket and run the motor. It all finally dissolves so I’m not worried , maybe it’s a good thing. Also, no scoop came in the bucket but I’ve got many, but you should know.

  2. It is the best. If you follow the directions it works overnight for me I don’t use anything else. I will be ordering this over the winter. But the 50lbs last me the whole swim season. I do recommend.

Next. I’d purchased this Zappit 50lb bucket several years ago, and the price was right, so I wanted to give it a shot one more time. I saw several negative reviews from recent purchases, so I was apprehensive. I disappointedly received the “paint bucket” style container, and the shock was way more granular than it was before. I’ve had similar experience as others … cloudy for a good while (day-ish or so). The shock also bunches along the curves of the pool at the bottom, so I have to “stir” it up (making it foggy again). Pouring the shock out of the paint hole on the lid isn’t very easy. One thing that has been different than any other shock is the film that my motorized pool cleaner has now. I’m taking it in for cleaning, so I hope it hasn’t messed anything up. I won’t be using this again. I wish it would go back to how it was before.

  4. Good product with lower cost. I have 28000 gal inground pool and have used Leslie’s power powder for 20 years. This product was $100 + lower than what I had been using. Chemical is same (however shows 72% vs power powders 80%). Does not include conditioner so shouldn’t raise cy acid in pool water. Unit arrived in good condition and is poundage advertised. Weighed on my scales which are not calibrated but showed close to the 50 #.Just started using. I apply in scimmer with pumps running. Dissolves easily & appearsto be working well. I will update if problems occur with water balances

  5. Product ok, shipping horrible. Product is decent. Courser than others I’ve used so slower to dissolve so you’ll have to stir up the bottom of your pool since it’s so slow to dissolve it settles on the bottom.Shipping is very, very slow. Took over 2 weeks just to move a couple states away. Thought I’d give it a try but should had stuck with Doheny which is my regular. Same price and I receive in a few days and they ship from a few states away as well.Overall if you want to be stirring up your pool and waiting over 2 weeks then go for it but I’d rather be doing something else.
