Works for our needs. I really like that it does keep the water fresher longer, if you get this I definitely suggest also getting the replacement filter pack.I clean it out once a week if it is needing refilled or not just because on the top layer over time it does start to get a build up of that slimy feel. It is very easy to clean. I am not sure how often I should be changing the filter but I clean it off with every cleaning and have replaced it once since purchasing, I think aiming for changing once a month.We have 4 cats and they all are enjoying it. It did take them some time to get used to, they mostly like drinking right from the flower.When you clean it definitely make sure you are removing the pack that sits on the bottom and cleaning it good as well (I use HOT water) if you don’t clean it then it does get loud when cycling.It is very quiet, I often forget we have it. I turn the light on at night so if someone is walking by they don’t hit it. The top doesn’t click on so it spills very easily, not sure if it’s supposed to but ours doesn’t.I think the one thing it could use is a warning light to notify when the water is getting low, we have had it run out of water once since purchasing and had no idea for about a day and a half when our cats were all trying to drink from sinks and toilets 🤦♀️ it does eventually get “louder” when it is empty but it takes a bit.
Received faulty pump; customer service was excellent and now the bowl works as it should. I decided to upgrade to the stainless steel water fountain for my cats since they love water fountain bowls from this same brand. The plastic bowls get rough around the edges of the bowl over time, which makes it harder to clean, and I was excited to see they had a stainless steel option. Well, while it looks very sleek, the water running into the bowl is quite noisy. I don’t mind noise, but if you’re looking for a quiet option, this is not the bowl for you!Plus, the water only runs on one side of the flower and gentle fountain because the water does NOT run unless I tilt the upper lid of the bowl a smidge to the left. At first, I thought the entire bowl was somehow not level or that I didn’t put the three pieces on together evenly, but nope. It’s sitting in the same exact spot as my original bowl and the lid of the bowl has to be pushed a little off level to the left in order for the water to actually run. Because of this, the water only runs on the left side of the flower or gentle fountain (I tried both). I can’t say I’m excited about how this bowl runs, but unless there’s some sort of secret to getting it to run the way the plastic ones, I can’t say it lives up to my basic expectations.ETA: I’m currently in contact with customer service about the pump, which turns out to be a known issue by the brand and is covered by the 2-year warranty that comes with the purchase of the bowl. I’ll update my review with what happens with that as the pump has stopped working all together on and off!ETA 2: I received the replacement pump as well as instructions on how to remove the original pump and put the new one in with the anti-leak build of this bowl. The new pump works as it should and there is some light noise, but it’s around 85% less noisy than the original faulty pump. The customer service was excellent. They were very helpful and more than happy to send out a replacement pump as I had received a bad one. I don’t know who is happier: me or my cats lol! My cats LOVE this bowl.SO WITH A WORKING PUMP LOL the bowl is running as it should. The water is running on all sides of the flower (my cats prefer to have a flower on their bowls for the water to drip from) and it no longer has to have the top of bowl a little off center to the left in order to run. I’m extremely happy with the bowl as well as the customer service!
Cord is not detachable. Update: (4 stars) I’m adding a star because I am very impressed with this seller. I would not hesitate to do business with them again. They reached out to me after I submitted my original review and informed me of their satisfaction guarantee even beyond the Amazon return window. There really is no risk, so give it a try. It just might be what you’re looking for.Original review (3 stars): The main thing that really aggravates me is that the cord that plugs into the wall is hardwired to the pump. When you go to move the fountain in any way to clean it, it’s not like you can just detach the fountain from the wall plug. I have my cord fed through a conduit and there is no way I can actually unplug my fountain to clean the pump without removing the whole conduit. It is a real pain and one I’m not willing to put up with. The fountain itself is very flimsy and the plastic is very thin. No real issues with mildew because I have washed it almost every week, but it has been a literal pain every time I do clean it that I have to rewire the whole thing from the wall to the pump. I have a Cat Mate fountain and the cord from the fountain is about 2 ft long and it plugs into the cord that goes into the wall. It is easily disconnected and carried over the to the sink to clean. If yours is easily accessible, this could be a good fountain for you, but if you have to run a wire and conceal it in any way, just forget it. I am very happy with my Cat Mate water fountain and have had it over a year with no issues. I just thought the little Flower mechanism on this one was so cute (though somehow I actually lost the flower but kept the water fountain anyway). The cord is just too frustrating for me. Good luck
The water fountain is a time-saver. The fountain was fairly easy to assemble and worked perfectly from the get-go. My cat was somewhat suspicious of the new water bowl, but quickly became used to it. I like that I only have to change the water every few days and know that the water is clean and relatively fresh since it is being constantly run through a charcoal filter. It is not particularly easy to clean, especially the motor. I couldn’t disassemble the impeller, when I cleaned it the first time. I’ve only had it a couple of weeks and the manufacturer suggests that it be cleaned every 2 weeks. Changing the filter is very easy–just replace it with a new one! The water I use is from my reverse osmosis unit and it probably won’t need as much maintenance as I would with the hard water that comes out of the faucet in the area where I live. It is a little awkward to pick up without spilling (somewhat heavy) and dealing with the electrical cord that dangles out of the unit is problematic to a degree. It cannot be disconnected easily from the inside of the unit. I might add that the unit is very stable and the cat cannot move it and slosh the water out all over the floor. She is notorious for playing in the water in the bowl and ended up with the whole bowl knocked over and me having to mop up the mess. So far, the water has stayed in the fountain!
Quiet. It’s very quiet and easy to put together. Trying to use it as a humming bird bird bath with a usb 20,000 mAh battery power supply. It has so far ran for 64 hours and have 50% battery power left. But not have seen a Humming bird use it yet but it is early in the season. The unit looks good and works fine so far.
Easy set up, quiet as a mouse, cute, and easy to clean. We wanted to switch fountains because our last one would frequently stop flowing and was an absolute pain to clean since it was ceramic and way too heavy. This one is QUIET, all plastic, easy to clean, easy to assemble (I’d recommend a simple youtube search in case this is your first water fountain, just so you get the pump set up correctly), and totally cute. It’s got a blue LED light that shines out so you can see where the water level is at without having to get too close. Water flows wonderfully, the machine is lightweight and easy to carry. Water runs through the top spout onto a level tray that has slots all around it letting the water flow back into the reservoir. This is a huge plus for me since our last fountain did not have a covered reservoir so all her hair would consistently fall in the clean water! Nightmare. So do yourself a favor and get this fountain! Nothing but positives, and it will give your fur baby the cleanest water!
Minor issues, but great overall. The water filter performed well. We’ve had it for almost 2 years and it’s just now starting to die on us. The pump makes a leaky sound sometimes, we think if the filter has too much cat hair. Easy fix. The last few months it’s started to stop pumping and I’m not sure if the motor on the pump is going out, it’s getting clogged, or some other issue. The filters are easy to find on their page and easy to replace. It’s a very simple system and easy to clean. I’d give it 5 stars if the pump wasn’t going out. They do have pump replacements on their page too, so I’ll probably just buy another pump and keep with the same fountain.
Sorry I didn’t purchase this sooner. Easy to put together and clean. My 4 cats love it!! No more water mess…. It looks nice and the sound of the water fountain is soft and calming. Would 100% recommend. Comes with cleaning tools and extra filters
FANTASTIC FOUNTAIN Read my TWO updates. I love this cat water fountain. BUT I go away on the weekends and I have automatic cat feeders and I bought this water fountain just for this reason. Last weekend as we were getting ready to leave, I always double check everything. I am so happy I do. I had cleaned this fountain, changed filters, etc. It was working just fine. BUT for whatever reason, it just quit working. We had to stop leaving. I took the fountain apart checked everything, etc. It wouldn’t work. I put a large bowl of water out for my 2 cats and left. When I got home, I again took everything apart on the fountain put it back together and it started working again. NOW, I know to never leave the cats with just this fountain. I will continually leave a large bowl out for them b/c I can’t rely on this fountain to continuously work!!! So, learn from my experience. Don’t rely JUST on the fountain for water for your pets!UPDATE!!!I changed my star to one—I wish I could rate it ZERO!Just last weekend I had rated it 3 b/c (thankfully) before we left for the weekend, the fountain for my cats quit working. I messed around with it and it started working. I clean this fountain as directed and change the filters too.Yesterday when I woke up, the fountain was NOT working AGAIN. Both cats were thirsty. I don’t know when it quit working. But when I went to bed it was working.I pulled it all apart again, used the little brush to see it something was blocking the little tube. I worked on it for over an HOUR and it hasn’t started working. I was irate.I went to return it but, guess what, I had missed the window to return. When I purchased this fountain, I bought a large quantity of filters b/c I knew I had to clean and change filters very often.So I am out the money for the fountain AND all the filters. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. I read where another customer, the same thing happened. I will go back to filling bowls of water daily so I know my furbabies have water whenever they need it.UPDATE #2I am embarrassed to even tell you this. I kept this fountain VERY clean and used dbl filtered water. When it quit working, as I said above, I torn it apart. There was no gunk in it. I had friends over and one husband asked, did you pull the wheel assembly apart? Yes, I did. Did you carefully put it back in? I thought I did. I took in apart again BUT I had to use needle nosed plyers to pull the fan out. I put it back together and it is working like it is brand new. So, if it doesn’t work pull the wheel and put back carefully. Mea culpa!!!
My cats love it. I bought this product because my cat’s love to drink running water no matter where it’s from and won’t drink out of their water bowls (even though it’s away from their food bowls), they always love drinking out the bathroom’s sink faucet. I got this so they can enjoy running water without me tearing up my faucets to drip water for them.Setting up the fountain is very easy and it comes with instructions as well to follow along. The design is great as it’s a small square shape that can fit in spots and take up no space at all. It’s been very durable so far and I’ve had no issues. It’s very easy to clean and replace the filters.Overall, I think this purchase was great. My cats love it and love to swat at the dripping water, and it was not too expensive like water fountains for cats.
Quieter than my fridge! And the kitties love it. The media could not be loaded. First impression is a good one!I just put this together today, so we’ll see how it holds up over time. A friend recommended this brand based on an older model she has that’s no longer available.I bought the stainless steel version. It’s a I expected – just the lid is stainless, the rest is plastic, but again that’s how it appears online so no surprises. I still wanted the stainless top since that’s the part my cats will lick so it might effect flavor.First impressions:1. This is literally quieter than my refrigerator, and I only filled it about half full. I had a ceramic fountain years ago and never liked how loud it was. This one is quieter by far. (In my video you can compare in the last part with the background noise of my dishwasher and dryer running).2. I LOVE the fact that there’s an OPTION to TURN THE LIGHT OFF! I know lots of other people seem to like the blue light, but I prefer to not have excess light (pollution) in my home and I’m so happy the designers made this optional rather than compulsory, as is the case these days with so many electronic devices.3. The instructions have just the right amount of detail. And they’re funny! The pump is a little character that tells you how to clean them. So creative and useful! Because it’s amusing it’s more inviting to read – and proper pump maintenance is vital to keeping the fountain in proper working order – so well done in making this part inviting.4. I took the time to properly wash all the parts of the fountain and give the charcoal filter a good rinse like the instructions say to do to help get rid of excess charcoal dust and also help eliminate anything that might not smell/ taste good to the kitties. Both of mine were drinking from the fountain within five minutes of putting it out. They both like to lick water droplets out of the sink and tub so I know they prefer fresh water to bowls. So I just did my job of cleaning anything from the brand new fountain that might smell or taste unfamiliar and they both embraced it.Happy household so far!;
Looks good. Works great. Cat loves it. Quiet. Simple to use and maintain. Highly recommend. Took cat a minute to warm up to it but is now drinking more water than ever.
