Order a size or two up. I figure there will be some guys in the same situation as me, so I hope this is helpful. I’m about 5’8, around 185 and 13% body fat: not a hulk by any means (and not cut to shreds), but athletic and pretty muscular. My arms are 16” and my chest is somewhere around 44”. Anyway, I almost always buy size small t-shirts because I find that most shirts are cut very large. I like my shirts pretty snug, so a small usually fits me well. I’ve been told with other companies to buy a size up, and I’ve always been disappointed when I have, wanting my shirts to fit more closely to my body. With this shirt, however, definitely order a size up, and if you generally wear your shirts kind of tight, consider ordering two sizes up.I bought a medium and it fits me alright, but I will probably order a large next time. If your build is similar to mine, even if you like your shirts snug, order a medium or a large. All that said, the shirt is great. The fabric feels very comfortable. It’s an excellent shirt for working out or as an undershirt beneath your dress clothes. The price is steep, but it’s worth the investment to have a few of these.(Written by Stephanie’s husband, just to clarify.)
Under Armour Heat Gear. I read many reviews on this product, and most people stated that I needed to order a size larger than I truly wear. I fall between a 2XL and 3XL. I debated and decided with a few bucks in shipping if I have the wrong size, I would order the 2XL. Besides, they are supposed to be compression shirts. I bought them for the sole purpose of using as an undershirt when I am hiking or exercising. I wasn’t in any way concerned about “looks” or my appearance while wearing it under my regular workout clothes. The 2XL is not nearly as tight as I was expecting. it fits snuggly, but there is no “compression”. I was hoping that my shoulders would feel a bit of pressure (two bad rotator cuffs) but that isn’t the case. I am thinking I should have ordered a 1XL.On to the product. They are very well built and feel great again the skin. I wore one over a short hike as an undershirt and it felt great. It helped keep me cool when I normally soak my regular cotton t-shirts on this hike. This helped move the sweat away from my body and into the outer garment where it quickly evaporated. It was kind of like old time refrigeration. I am now going to order a 1XL and see if it will help in “supporting” my shoulders.I will order more shirts when I determine which size I need. I highly recommend them.
I would have imagined that being a female and this shirt being a men’s shirt that I would need a size small but the size small s. I’ll start off by saying that I am a female about 5’9″ and 125ish pounds, so fairly tall and skinny. I am in the police academy so I needed a shirt that I could wear under an academy issued bullet proof vest that was donated from a department so the vest does not fit me the way it should and I needed a shirt that would make it the least uncomfortable as possible under a uniform shirt. I would have imagined that being a female and this shirt being a men’s shirt that I would need a size small but the size small suffocated me and the medium was what fit better. That surprised me though. Granted yes the shirt is a compression shirt so it is suppose to be tight but the small was too short and way too tight around my arms which aren’t big at all. I liked that it is a vneck though as I am very weird about having collars around my neck. Seeing as this shirt is a “HeatGear” compression shirt I sort of figured that it would help to keep me cool, and while yes it does keep me cool, the way that it keeps me cool is by absorbing all of the sweat throughout the day and continuing to stay nasty and sweaty all day. I do not typically sweat much even when exercising and I am surprised every day when I take this shirt off how damp it is, which grosses me out. If the shirt were able to keep me cool without making me bathe in my own sweat all day long I would have given this five stars, but overall the shirt is nice. I wore compression shirts most of my life playing sports and I was very surprised at how difficult it was to find a women’s vneck compression shirt – but I am also sort of a brand snob and need Under Armour or Nike as much as I can. Overall this shirt works for how its suppose to, but I will say that the sizing surprised me a lot and I can’t imagine a larger sized man getting into one of these shirts in any size smaller than XXXXXXL.
wind) and it felt great. This is a compression shirt and so it. This T-shirt did exactly what it had to do. I used it in an obstacle race (sand, mud, stones, barbwire, sun, wind) and it felt great. This is a compression shirt and so it is tight, it is designed to be tight and hold your muscles as a second skin. Of course it got wet, but it did not absorb as much water as a cotton t-shirt; mud was almost imperceptible and so it didn’t hardened when it dried. The material is really good; I went trough the entire race and by the end I only found two little holes at the bottom and probably from the barbwire. Remember that I had to crawl on rocks and mud for a while and this T-shirt still looks like new. I have also used this T-shirt for my usual training at the gym and it feels great too. One precaution, I usually use my sleeves to dry my face, but you cannot do this with this shirt as the entire surface area of the T-shirt is going to be moist during training (I run a lot on a treadmill). Remember, it is trying to get rid of your sweat as quickly as possible and is skin tight so no part of it is fully dry if you sweat a lot and there is no breeze. As such, it will keep you fresh as that is one of the roles of sweating, getting rid of the extra heat by evaporation. It is not completely smell-proof, but it is greatly, greatly reduced. I mean, you will smell something only if you put the T-shirt on your nose after you finished your training, but apart from that you won’t even notice it. I have worn this T-shirt even when wearing suits and it feels great now that we are approaching summer. It is long, so it will go below your waist line and probably roll up a bit, but it didn’t really bother me. I usually wash it by hand and it seems to be Ok, in that way I get rid of the sweat as soon as possible.I hope this helps.

Same material, much smaller sizing than they used to be. I have several 3XL Tactical HeatGear shirts from some years ago, and I quite like them. But the current version is not sized the same. This 3XL was more than just compression wear; it was tighter than tight. And while I do hit the gym several times a week, I’m just not really a skintight shirt kind of guy, so this shirt’s going back.
Good fit, but seams will chafe. I’m 5’10, 230# actively losing weight. However, I needed something to firm up the belly fat until my fitness program takes care of it. I bought this Under Armour Compression Shirt to be worn under my dress shirt and it’s worked out well. I bought an XL size like I normally would with undershirts and the compression factor is firm enough to keep the gut in check while being comfortable enough to wear all day.I wash them in a regular load with my other clothes and dry them on medium heat, and they’ve held up very well. I now own 5 of these to get me through the week. One caveat as mentioned in my headline, the interior seam edges will chafe you due to the shirt’s designed snug fit. This has been a problem for me under my armpit, and as another reviewer mentioned the workaround is to wear the shirt inside out. Since I wear this under my dress clothing it’s not a deal breaker.

These are perfect. While I’m enjoying the healthiest I’ve been since my service days, there’s some loose belly skin left over from a dark past of boozing and weight gain. While I hope to some day get my belly corrected, these compression shirts are great for helping me feel my best and appreciate all my hard work of getting healthy again. After a full day of wearing them I feel like it’s just easier to move and I’m less fatigued. My back seems to feel pretty good as everything is supported equally all around, rather than just letting gravity pull on you.At 6’2” and 204 (42” chest) I went with the large. They are definitely snug; and given another opportunity, I’d stick with the large. For the price, I really expect them to last at least a year being rotated. If they start falling apart after 6 months, or so, then I’d likely deduct at least one star.

pretty great. I love this shirt for both working out and everyday wear. It is pretty tight, as it is meant to be. It has plenty of stretch.I believe I bought a small, and it fits fine. For reference, I am male, 6 feet tall, and I weigh 160 lbs.
Snug, Cool, Dry, and Stays Tucked In. I purchased this to wear under a dress shirt and jacket for an all-day event, hoping I wouldn’t get hot and sweaty.Normally, I wear standard undershirts, and they feel warm and get swampy. They they get untucked and bunch up at the waist, and get generally uncomfortable fairly quickly. This shirt stayed tucked in place, and – most importantly – felt comfortably cool, especially in the back. My dress shirt was dry after 12+ hours, even under the pits. A first. I’m impressed enough to write a review for a t-shirt.Now the shirt fits very snugly. It’s supposed to, since that’s how moisture-wicking apparel works best, but it was never restrictive. If you’ve not worn something like this before, it’ll probably take a little bit of time getting accustomed to. That took me about an hour. After that, I really liked the feel.I will absolutely buy again if I need more.
Great shirt. Love it
Ok. Ok
Comfortable. Fits snug and prevents moisture (sweat) from bleeding through to my dress shirts. Also will hide any tattoos that may show through thinner fabrics
Great product from a great brand. Love the under Armour compression T-shirts great quality, and great fit
Great fit and very comfortable. This shirt helps with not only my posture, but also insures I have the support I need post surgery. A must have.
Good compression and comfortable fit. I wear this when working outdoors at my job at a golf course, with a golf shirt overtop. It is comfortable and provides good compression. I normally wear a Large, but I bought this in Medium. It is plenty long and it fits tightly, which is what I wanted. If you want a more normal fit with less compression, order your normal size. I have worn and washed this several times, and it has stayed white and in good shape. I’ll probably buy another one!

Good under shirt for dress shirts. Not visible with dress shirts and button downs

Great compression. I love these tactical compression shirts. The quality is great and the stretch is perfect. I wear them as undershirts. The are certainly breathable and moisture wicking. Very easy to wash and make you look good while wearing them.
Top-Tier Comfort and Performance – A Must-Have Base Layer. The Under Armour Men’s HeatGear Tactical V-Neck has quickly become one of my go-to base layers for everything from workouts and outdoor activities to everyday wear. I’ve been using it for a few months now, and it continues to impress in every way.Fit and Comfort:The fit is excellent — form-fitting without being restrictive. It hugs the body just enough to function well as a base layer but still allows full freedom of movement. The V-neck is a great touch, especially for layering under uniforms or button-ups where you don’t want the neckline to show. The fabric is lightweight, ultra-soft, and has that signature Under Armour smooth feel that’s comfortable even for all-day wear.Moisture-Wicking and Breathability:This shirt truly lives up to the HeatGear name. It does an outstanding job of wicking away sweat and keeping me cool and dry, even during high-intensity training or hot summer days. The breathability is top-notch — no overheating or clammy feeling, even under heavy gear or multiple layers.Durability and Quality:The quality is what you’d expect from Under Armour: solid stitching, strong seams, and material that holds up well over time. I’ve washed it many times, and there’s been no fading, stretching, or deterioration. It still looks and performs like new. This shirt can definitely take a beating and keep going.Tactical and Versatile:Whether you’re wearing it as part of a uniform, for workouts, outdoor adventures, or just as a super comfortable undershirt, this V-neck delivers. It’s especially great if you’re in law enforcement, military, or security roles — the low-profile, non-logoed tactical version makes it ideal for professional use.Final Thoughts:If you’re looking for a high-performance V-neck base layer that offers comfort, breathability, and a tactical look, the Under Armour HeatGear Tactical V-Neck is hard to beat. I’ve already picked up a few more and plan to rotate them into my daily wear. Highly recommended for anyone who needs reliable gear that performs.
Excellent Compression Shirt. I’ve been using this compression shirt for a while now and it’s one of the best I’ve tried. I have four of them in black and white, and they’ve become a staple in my workout and everyday wear. The fit is snug without being restrictive, and the material is breathable and durable. It holds up well after multiple washes with no loss in compression or shape. Great for layering or wearing on its own. Highly recommended if you’re looking for quality and consistency!
Be advised. Fits as advertised, breathable flattering, good quality comfortable, I did order next day shipping, but it took a few days to get to me despite saying next day. Im not sure why companies say next day, charge you for it then go…well as long as it gets to you.Got an update that “if its not here by the second, come back and request a refund” I went to it and it said “come back on the 6th”….like what are we doin here?.So in summation if you want this shirt, make sure you have a week to wait.
Great for workouts or use as an undershirt. Really good fit and feet, very comfortable and moisture wicking properties. The tag inside the shirt is tear away, so no itchy tag inside the shirt bothering you during your day or workout. Fit was true to size, and the quality feels like it will last a while. Does not appear to have shrunk much over two washes.
