  1. Only purchase to gift to someone you hate. The headset itself doesn’t have many pros, but the pros it does have are really good. The battery does seem to last roughly 40hrs, and the sound quality for a wireless headset is really good when it works. That’s the problem is it has so many issues, a lot of which could have been avoided if whoever designed these thought about the user for half a second. They stopped at the speakers and battery and figured that’s good enough.I’ll start with the software, why is there a PC app that’s one and only job is to update the headsets firmware. Why do I have to use my phone and connect it to the headset to adjust settings the one or two settings you gave us? Why does the app when asking me if I’m having trouble crash when I click the yes I’m having trouble button? Why is there zero option to stop the audio muting whenever a setting is changed, volume is maxed out, or device is connected? Why not give us the ability to control the sleep on the headset? If they cared about the user there’d be a pc/mobile app with basic features you’d want like those. As a pc only user I’d like to see a pc app as an option, especially when the mobile app doesn’t keep the saved settings applied half the time. Also how much does an accurate battery indicator cost? They give away phones with better battery reading than this headset. The best they can give you is estimates at 25% intervals.Onto actual hardware, I hope you like unplugging and repluggung usb devices in because the dongle loves to turn off until I unplug it and plug it back in. Turn your pc off? You’ll probably have to replug it in. Headset turn off and the dongle lost signal? 50% of the time you’ll have to replug it in. The range is also pretty weak, 10ft would have some audio stutter, one wall is also the limit as it’ll start stuttering and cutting out. The headset has two volume wheels, one that’s dedicated to the dongle and another that’s reprogramable, great in concept but using it for Bluetooth audio control is worthless as it’s super fragile and has zero tactile to it so easy to bump and blow your ears out. Would much rather see it used as a mixer for the dongle/Bluetooth volume with tactile bumps. It’s primarily plastic so I’m unsure of how durable it is, the inner band is atleast metal and the buttons feel really cheap but make a loud clear tactile click when being pressed. Takes a few hrs to fully charge and lasts 35ish hrs. One other big gripe I have is the volume button has zero effect on windows and windows volume has zero effect on the headset unless windows is set to 0 than it mutes the headset. I don’t see why the volumes can’t be controlled together. Makes volume wheels on keyboards useless.I’d only recommend the headset if you can get it on sale, and don’t care about user experience past being wireless and having decent audio/battery. I haven’t used many wireless headsets, the audeze penrose, corsair void, and corsair virtuoso but out of all of these the penrose and these are a strong tie. The pentose sound a touch better but the battery is horrible and these sound nearly as good but last way longer. The virtuosos as much as I dislike corsairs software has way more user comforts and better support compared to these while still sounding alright after a little EQ.After even more time with it I’m ready to smash it with a hammer and use absolutely anything else. Nearly every time I turn the headset on I have to unplug the stupid USB dongle and plug it in again for it to connect to my pc. They don’t update their broken garbage app you need to use or else your forced with a mic that’s always on even in the up position. They will take your money and leave you with a half baked product. Shocking how little turtle beach cares about its customers.

  4. I love this headset, but there are a few noteworthy cons. First off is the size, these are definitely on the bulky side, and as someone with a small head the band at it’s smaller setting barely fits. It is tight to my head, but with the band resting on top of my head the ear cups feel just a TINY bit too low for me.My second con is the range/ receiver strength. Part of the man appeal to non-wired headset is to not be tied to a pc, or controller. But the range cuts out the moment I leave my room. My kitchen is about 20 paces away and it begins to cut out, this is also through a wall. Also covering the left ear cup results in sound cutting out at just 5 feet from the transmitter. If I tilt my head to the left and rest the ear up on my shoulder it will cut out. This seems to be worse the lower the battery level is.Third is that the “cooling technology” seems to be a gimmick. Sure when you first put it on it is cool to the touch as any leather type material would be. But after a while of playing my ears do still get warm. Now for the pros. These sound amazing. Don’t let the “headset connected” voice fool you! I was worried at first because the voice sounds like crap. Very fuzzing sounding like it was recorded with a 1990 camcorder microphone. But that isn’t worth calling a con. I personally like a lot of bass in my gameplay, I care more about sound quality than hearing footsteps, and this headset is capable of that. There is the super human hearing mode which seems to increase the treble and amplify footsteps if that’s your thing. The modes are nice and I tend to switch between “signature sound” and “bass and treble boost” depending on what I’m playing/ watching. At first I couldn’t find a sound I was 100% happy with. It felt like the high tones were way too high and the low tones were way too low. But I paired it with the DTS program and I’m super happy with it. Sound is subjective, and the app allows for tuning of bass treble and voice, although a mid tone adjust would have perfected it.They also seem very durable. I don’t travel with with them, but I find it hard to believe the reviews that claim their headband snapped just from putting it on their head, then putting it on their desk/ stand as it should. Unless they have a giants head. My guess is dropping, stepping, sitting on them etc and then hoping to get a refund by saying it was a defect. The ability to be connected to my Xbox and my phone or laptop via Bluetooth is a great feature. When I am not playing competitive games I use this feature to listen to podcasts while I game. The battery life is great. I’ve had them for 3 months and have charged them less than 5 times. Each time when I get down to around 20%. I play fairly casually, a couple of hours on most days. 40 hours should be plenty of life. Even 20 is plenty. Even the most hardcore of users will only need to plug in once a week probably. The glasses relief adjustment is nice as someone who wear glasses. Pulling off the ear cups for the first time feels like you’re about to break them but they won’t.The mic quality is good, the adjustable monitoring is great because you can turn it off completely or turn it way up.Lastly some neutral notes, I’ve seen many reviews complaining about connectivity issues, I have had my dongle plugged into my Xbox since I got these and I have never had to unplug/ replug it and never had connection issues. This was probably fixed with an update. Which leads to the second point of complaints of needing to plug it into a computer to update it. This isn’t a big issue for me because I have a laptop. But it’s worth noting you do need a pc or laptop to update the headset, you plug in the headset and the dongle into your device to update so you need at least 2 USB ports. The headset is still usable if you don’t update though, it doesn’t brick your headset when you need to update. There are also complaints about the app, but I have no complaints other than maybe adding a midrange adjustment. It’s simple and intuitive. It is Jair for adjusting levels, creating a custom EQ, turning on/off superhuman hearing, mic monitoring and mapping the button and the volume wheel on the headset itself.Overall 4/5 stars. I’m happy with my purchase and the pros outweigh the few cons for my use of them.

  5. Perfect headset. UPDATE: Going on 8 months now with this headset and it still works perfect for me. No cracks in plastic or any signs of breaking. As long as you take care of the headset you’ll be fine. Its a shame this headset doesn’t work for everyone because for me it’s the perfect headset. I use them interchangeably between my Series X and PS5 daily and doing so is cake work. The dongle provided with this headset has a switch to select either Xbox or “USB” which you use on PS5 or PC. The battery life is stellar, the sound is great and gets plenty loud, it can connect to your console and phone at the same time, the flip to mute mic is a godsend, and the overall build quality is Sturdy. Not sure how people actually break this headset as I’ve used it for about 5 months now with no sign of breaking/cracking, but to be fair I take care of my stuff. The ONLY negatives I have experienced with his headset is every now and then I can hear crackling coming through but it lasts a few seconds and then it’s gone and the clamping force is tight right out the box. I’ve stretched the headset out and it fits perfectly fine now though. Overall, this headset is the best bang for your buck in my opinion and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase.

  7. Son lo que esperaba, poder utilizar estos audífonos en las diferentes consolas y sin ningún tipo de problema, el audio es sobresaliente!!

  8. Overall great but. I wear glasses all day, every day. Despite how I adjust the head band and the “glasses pro spec” thing these still hurt my ears physically. And I wear very lightweight barely there frames (single construction thin pure titanium frames).Every time I turn these on they fail to pair with the already paired transceiver on my XBox One X for no reason and then automatically powers off. I have to power it back on and then it pairs fine. There are no firmware updates available.Because of these problems I knocked off a whole star in my review for an otherwise stellar and fantastic product. So to that point I can hear everything and it’s great and I love it. Now, just solve the problem for people that have to wear glasses.

Not the best – not the worst. Headset runs small. I don’t have a large head, and this thing is still really snug. Ears hurt after a few hours of wearing it. They advertise that the padding can be modified for fitting glasses and it cannot. The sound is also sub-par. Probably the only reason it doesn’t get 3 stars is because the footsteps in shooters are easy to detect. Bass is next to nothing. The sound doesn’t get loud enough for game volume in any capacity. As well, the connectivity of the headset is spotty. I’ve had major problems with it functioning properly and sometimes even connecting all together.Definitely better headsets out there.

  10. The work well with xbox, however there are quality issues with physical plastic parts. I think the sound quality and ease of setup are great. The one problem I have is the earpiece connection is a very thin plastic, and maybe my head is a little big. but this is the 3rd set of turtle beach headsets I have owned. all three broke in the same spot. I had 2 600’s and the latest 700. 600’s I have super glued and taped up the 700, I did the same and actually contacted the manufacturer. I received an email asking what happened to cause them to break. Actually, nothing I came down picked the headset up and it fell apart in my hand. Hopefully, they will work on this quality issue, they are a good headset overall

  11. I love it. This is my first big purchase headphones, and I really enjoy them! They have amazing sound quality with multiple functions, and they have proven durable. Well done!

  12. They’re more comfortable than the first generation. Feels more sturdy than before. Having the usb dongle definitely makes things better. Connects instantly, doesn’t drop the connection and easily transfers to other equipment. I love being able to connect to my Xbox and my phone simultaneously. I got them for $199.99, easily worth the price. The “head clamp” pressure was a bit much at first. I just extended the headband and it relieved the pressure. As far as sound quality, I think they’re awesome! I’ve never had an issue with the phone app for these headsets. If you want something that is plug and play, convenient and quality. Buy these. Especially when they’re on sale.

  13. The max series solved the only problem I had with the 700 Gen 2s which was the connection sometimes cutting out, the USB allows for a much more stable connection, the sound quality is amazing and blows my other, much more expensive headset out of the water

  16. Quality headphones. I’ve had these for a week now and I use them everyday for 2-3 hours. Battery has been on 100%, no connection issues, connects right away to Xbox. Clear audio quality, heavy bass, superhuman hearing is awesome. Ear cups do cancel normal house noise, overall I would recommend these headphones with Dolby Atmos audio for Xbox

  17. Great product. They sound amazing. The preset sound adjustments are good. They are great for FPS and racing games. Phone app to adjust audio settings. Very comfortable. They seem very sturdy. The battery life is amazing. The price is perfect for what you get. I don’t think that there are any gaming headsets at this price that even compare. The microphone on the headset is one of the best I’ve used. Don’t hesitate on this purchase as you won’t be disappointed.I did initially have connectivity issues but after contacting turtle Beach they were able to walk me through a reset process that was simple and resolved the issue. Great customer service and I will continue to purchase their products.

  18. 1.5 YR REVIEW – Caution, I won’t buy again. I will try to make this as quick and easy I will start with the bad and work my way to good:Note: These headsets are only warranted for 1 yr through the manufacture, I was told I have to buy a new headset.BAD: The quality of the headset is cheap for the price you pay. One earpiece broke completely off from the headband with regular use and the other earpiece is cracked about half way in the same spot. These failure points should have been made from metal. I use my headset for a few hours every night, put them on, play, take them off with the occasional interruptions where I have to remove them during my gaming session.NEEDS WORK: Some connectivity issues with the headset and my PC, but these were far and few. I would prefer if these could go into sleep mode when not detecting any sound for a few minutes instead of powering down. The dongle that plugs into your device should have a ‘wake up’ button on it so you do not have to keep unplugging and re plugging it back into your device. Unnecessary wear on your usb port. Also important to note, you have to plug in the dongle first so it receives power, then you can turn on your headset. If you don’t do this, then you will experience connectivity issues.GOOD: Great sound, ability to tell where a player is coming from is fantastic and the mic works great. Flip to mute is a wonderful feature. No complaints from friends about not being able to hear me clearly. These do come with some great features for adjusting your sound and I really like the ability to lower chat and gameplay sound independently from each other. It would have been nice to have the ability to raise the chat volume higher as some of my friends I can barely hear.OVERALL: It would be great if the price point stays the same, but had some more robust connections where all the tension is put on these through normal wear and tear. These headsets grip tightly on your head, but could be relaxed a little as occasionally I would get a headache because of my glasses.

  21. Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 MAX. This is our 4th pair because the sound and the comfort is perfect for the price. I owned two pairs of the previous version (TB Stealth 700 Gen2 non “MAX”) and fell in love. I’ve been using Turtle Beach headsets since 2010. The warranty is a good peace of mind also. One of the beast features is the simultaneous Bluetooth function. This headset allows you to wirelessly connect to your PC / Console via USB dongle, while also connected to your phone / tablet via Blue Tooth without switching connections. So you can be listening to music or taking a call on your phone, and the audio from your console / PC can still function simultaneously. You might not think its a big deal, but it comes in handy, I don’t think I could live without it, especially if you are paying over $100 for a good headset. You can watch a tutorial video on your phone when you get stuck on that boss fight, or cant figure out a tricky puzzle in an RPG, or browse social media while waiting in queue for your game to start etc.* Some other brand headsets have Bluetooth and wireless capabilities, but a lot of them DO NOT work simultaneously. If you want this functionality, do your research. *Another cool function is that they can work with Xbox or PS regardless of what it says on the package. I have a Xbox Series X and a Play Station 5, and the same headset works for both consoles. Just flip the switch on the dongle to PC.The foam around your ears is soft memory foam, they have good bass for music and gaming, though you can adjust the audio mixer via the phone app. Easy to use and it isn’t all glitchy like other apps. I also really like how the microphone can be completely hidden, so they look like normal headphones in public. Also the mic mutes automatically when you flip it up, so you always know if you are muted or not easily. They come out of the box pretty tight, if you have a small head / young teen / child, they will stay in place. For my big head I always have to stretch the headband out a good amount, but that’s fine because it has a metal headband inside so it eventually forms to your head. They do have a good weight to them, they don’t have that light cheap plastic feeling. That could be a drawback for some people but I don’t even realize they are on after a while. The mic quality is good nobody ever complains in game about a bad mic sound. It also has mic monitoring which means you can hear yourself talking if you wish, you can adjust the level or turn it off in the app.Unfortunately the older non “MAX” variation (Stealth 700 gen2) were prone to the plastic breaking after heavy use. I haven’t had that issue with the new “MAX” version, but they are essentially the same headset, but now they just use a dongle, where before the Xbox version did not require a dongle. I had to superglue two different sets because they both broke after heavy use, they WOULD still work, but it is annoying having to glue them back together. I’ve fallen asleep over night with them on and have had sessions of 12 hours in a day, so your usage my be different. However, EVERY Turtle Beach product has a 1 year warranty, so if they break they will send you a brand new set, and you can keep the broken set until you cant bare it anymore. I still have my non “MAX” superglued set as backup just in case. I used both warranties on my broken headsets and everything went smooth, great customer service. I do hope they address this issue if they ever release a gen 3 version. With that being said, Now I am careful and mindful of how I put them on, I simply stretch the metal headband without touching the ear cup section to put them on my head. No issues, just don’t grip and bend the plastic ear cup section, you might eventually put too much stress on the plastic that holds the ear cup housing that connects to the headband. That’s where my old headsets broke.Even with those two broken headsets from the previous version, I still ONLY use the Stealth 700 gen 2 MAX now. The features, the price, the comfort, and the sound is what keeps me coming back.I did try the Microsoft wireless headset for Xbox after my second TB headset broke, the earmuffs were too small and the sound was terrible. I literally would not game until I got a new set of Turtle Beaches again. The sound is NIGHT AND DAY in comparison. The Microsoft headset sounded like the audio was coming through a soda can, they felt cheap and plastic, and definitely did not have simultaneous Blue Tooth capability. Also, you always get a Turtle Beach sticker in the box, that hasn’t changed since I bought my first headset from them back in 2010. 👍

  22. 25. Built to Last—A Gamer’s Favorite. I bought this gaming headset almost two years ago, and it’s still going strong! My son loves it—it’s comfortable, the sound quality is great, and the mic is clear. This is actually our second set because we were so impressed with the first one, and I already plan on getting another for my younger son.For a headset that gets daily use (and let’s be honest, probably some accidental rough handling), it has held up incredibly well. Durable, reliable, and a great value—if you need a headset that can keep up with serious gaming, this is it!
