Great Values for Baby. I’ve been taking this prenatal since before I got pregnant. I chose it due to the high vitamin values compared to other brands. I read a lot of reviews before choosing, most people saying it leaves no aftertaste, but that is not the case! You definitely burp it and taste it. There’s also over 7000% of Vitamin B12 that makes your urine really yellow as you pee it out, and you’ll even smell it exactly as the pill smells. Definitely don’t love that and now being pregnant, I’m finding these are hard to take because you have to take 3 and they really do taste awful. The only reason I didn’t rate lower and still take these is because of the high values. But yes, you will taste it. And it gets worse when pregnant! It meets most of the minimum necessities to grow a baby. My PCP and gynecologist don’t seem to care which prenatal I take, as long as it has enough folate. So these aren’t necessarily necessary, but I wanted all the high values for the baby. A plus is it doesn’t make you sick.
Good prenatal but not for those with enough iron. This one does includes iron and is more rounded than most vitamins out there for a lower-middle price range. I wanted to try Thorne out before actually getting pregnant then switching to my expensive prenatals, but now realize the iron was too much for my body to take. If you know you are deficient in iron then this prenatal might work for you and you might not have the same experience as me.After 3 weeks, I’ve stopped taking these due to the gastrointestinal issues and immediate aches I get from these prenatals. It was immediate reaction when I started but I thought maybe it was my food, or just “getting used to it”. I peeled back the bottle label where the other half of the remaining ingredients were listed and remembered that the extra iron might be causing me these issues. Having too much can mess with your gut microbiome and I felt it was obvious by my daily bloat and stomach rumblings that my body was working way hard but in a bad way. Typically I’m very regular, but had multiple days of strain. For now, I will be switching back to my usual capsules that do not include iron until maybe later in pregnancy and could use the extra.Update: I stopped and my body is back to being regular, so confirmed it was this supplement. Also this brand/seller is extremely honest and responsive. They sent me a refund after seeing my review. I wasn’t expecting it but really appreciate that they care. Because of this I added an extra star back from 3 to 4 as I would be willing to try their other products.
No nausea. I’ve been taking this prenatal off and on for around 6 years, and they seem to work just fine. I’ve had 3 extremely healthy babies in that time. I really liked them for early in my pregnancies because they didn’t cause nausea like all of the other prenatal vitamins I tried. I also chose them because they have folate instead of folic acid. I continue to use them postpartum. Downside is you have to take 3 capsules daily. For me the trade off in not causing nausea was worth it!
Great brand. My nurse practitioner suggested I start taking a prenatal to get nutrients I was lacking in. These supplements along with Thorne’s B12 pills have been a life changer for me!
The best one yet. I can no longer afford this prenatal, but it has been my favorite option so far. Of all the prenatal vitamins I’ve used this is the only one that has never affected my stomach in a negative way. Very happy with and wish I could go back on it.
Excellent. Like:-noticeably stronger hair and nails (never happened with other multivitamins or prenatals, or hair/nail/skin vitamins)-noticeably glowier / healthier looking skin-high quality ingredients-reputable brandDislike:-very mild iron scent, just swallow them quickly-nausea: to troubleshoot this side effect I take all three at night right before bed and never have an issue. They make me very nauseous if I take them in the morning. I’ve never tried taking them in the middle of the day like some other users have posted.

Take at night. Love:- Hair and nails are strong and thick- Skin has been nicely glow since starting these- Noticeably more mentally clear with more energy when I take these vs when I skip doses- No vitamin burpsDislike:- Can only take them at night otherwise I get super nauseous. However since switching to night I noticed morning sickness was a lot more bare able.- constipation! I sometimes have to skip a day or two to encourage my body to let go.- they smell strongOverall, I love these vitamins. They really do work. Just find the best way to take them for you and you’ll be really happy

Higher end Prenatal. I’ve done quite a bit of research on prenatal vitamins for my last pregnancy. Thorne matched everything I thought my baby and I needed. It was a toss up between this and fullwell (but I couldn’t stomach 8 pills at once). Although it was tough to swallow 3 pills every day it is nearly tasteless and I didn’t have any after effects. I appreciate that Amazon offers subscriptions and free shipping.
Clean and feel great. So I use to take Olly but recently been really into changing my diet and using clean products. This has been game changer for me personally. Since taking this my overall energy has improved. The only downfall is larger size pills and they sometimes taste fishy. Not pregnant currently but if your sensitive these might be hard.
Quality vitamins. Thorne prenatal vitamins are at the top of list in most vitamin reviews I read when I was looking for vitamins. They are third party certified which is important to me. They do not upset my stomach or make me burp. Yay! The gel caps are on the large side but I don’t have an issue with that.
Smells. I wanted to like this vitamin but I’ve taken them two days in a row and vomited shortly after. I can’t bear the smell of the vitamins even before the bottle gets opened. I’m disappointed as I spent money on these vitamins and can’t even finish them.Update: I’m adjusting my rating for the excellent customer service and quick response. I am willing to try different products from their line when I am no longer pregnant.5/26/25 postpartum update: I decided to give the prenatal vitamin another chance because I really like the ingredients and that this brand does 3rd party testing. I’m able to better tolerate the smell. I do notice my milk supply increases when I take the vitamin and my milk is lower in supply when I forget to take it, not sure if it’s a coincidence or if it actually helps boost supply. I am happy with the vitamin and will continue to use Thorne!

Contains lead, cadmium and arsenic. Not returnable!! This product was recently lab tested by a third party and was positive does the different heavy metals- lead, cadmium and arsenic. See the Simple Lab results at Lead Safe Mama’s website, searching for the Thorne Prenatal article.I’m really P.O.’d because I have been taking this the whole time I was pregnant and nursing, with this child and the last, and lead attaches to calcium receptors in the brain, leading to lower IQ as well as a long list of other cognitive and physiological disorders. Cadmium causes cancer. And everyone knows arsenic is terrible for you, that’s a given. I trusted this brand as it was recommended by many naturopathic dr’s I have seen before, so I thought they regularly tested for these heavy metals contaminating their supplements. Canceled my subscribe and save for all their supplements. Keep an eye out for the ones testing safe at the aforementioned website. Nordic Naturals and Mary Ruths have some testing safe, but Mary Ruths liquid pre&post natal vitamin also did test positive for those heavy metals.
Excellent Product. Your skin, nails and hair will thank you for using this. I came across this supplement after reading a book about fertility. I ordered 3 bottles and I’ve been taking it everyday. I noticed my sling is glowing, my nails are stronger and my hair is becoming thicker. Although it’s a bit more expensive than most popular brands, it is still worth buying it. Also it does not upset your stomach which is a huge plus.
Unicorn Pregnancy. I have had the best pregnancy experience (very different from the women in my family), and I definitely feel like this pre-natals supported a lot of my nutritional intake needs to sustain my energy throughout pregnancy as well not causing any nausea. I’m getting towards the end of my third trimester now and I have had all great bloodwork, high levels of energy, and healthy check ups all through out. Obviously other factors are at play here (support, diet, exercise), but these were not the original pre-Natals I started with and when I switched I felt a huge difference!

Best prenatals for 3 pregnancies and postpartum. Absolutely love Thorne prenatal vitamins. Only ones that didn’t make me gag and feel nauseous. Easy to swallow and settle well even without food in stomach. No strong vitamin smell. I take the DHA with it and add Vit K and Vit D. Used for all 3 pregnancies and throughout postpartum. I amvery healthy and only natural practices in my daily life. No chemicals and only quality meats, wild seafood, organic produce. I do have a sweet tooth, however. I feel more energized, nutritionally satisfied, less sugar cravings, and overall healthier when taking these prenatals. I take only a few times a week as I intuitively listen to my body’s needs.
Made me feel so sick. The ingredients look amazing but these are not easy on the stomach. I absolutely could but take them during the first trimester. I made sure to eat a full meal first and would still feel so sick and end up puking. Once I switch to the ritual prenatal that stopped. I decided to try these again in my second trimester since I don’t have the nausea and major food aversions anymore. NOPE! I got so nauseous just taking 1! I tried again the next day, ate a full meal, took the recommended dose and have been feeling so sick ever since! Nauseous, achy, tired. Anyway, I can’t recommend these. Ritual doesn’t have all the trace minerals but they are so gentle on the stomach and every ingredient is sourced from nature and tested. A big thing with prenatal is that you should absolutely avoid folic acid and look for something that has methylated folate.
Decent Product – Not For Everyone. Was taking this for a couple months before conceiving and then during the pregnancy before it was lost. I do think it is a good quality prenatal that gave me extra energy which was very much appreciated, but I did some more research and decided to go with a different option that fit my needs better- you can find that information below.I did notice some stomach upset at the beginning, but it went away after a few days. The main reason I ended up getting off of it, was due to wicked constipation. Could this have been due to the pregnancy itself? Possibly. I stopped taking this around the time I miscarried and switched to another option out there. The main reason I give it so many stars was because of the energy it gave me, but that’s ultimately why I decided to switch because there is conflicting information on the internet regarding the high dose of vitamin B in here. I’ll just stress that everyone needs to do their own research and it’s not the best choice for everyone.
Smell Bad… but LOVE them and wouldn’t trade them. I’ve been taking these for 1.5 years. I took them my entire pregnancy and then continued through my breastfeeding journey. I’ll say this: I definitely notice when I stop taking them. I feel so lethargic and slow when I’ve skipped a few days. Most recently I didn’t have them for about 2 weeks becauase my subscription got messed up and I can feel the nutrients depleting from me… I’m not even being dramatic. I generally eat a well rounded, nourishing diet but (like any American) I have gaps. This supplement does a great job filling those gaps.My only thing is that they really don’t smell good. During my first trimester it took all of my effort to get past the smell and get them down. But now that I’m used to it, it’s alright. All in all, I would definitely recommend these to any pregnant or nursing mama.
High-quality prenatal vitamins that really make a difference. I’ve been taking Thorne Prenatal Vitamins for several months now, and I’m really happy with them. These pills are easy on my stomach (no nausea or discomfort), and I feel confident knowing they use clean, well-absorbed ingredients without unnecessary fillers. No nasty taste or acid reflux with these. I still take them postpartum
High quality- definitely recommend. I don’t love that you have to take three of them but it’s really not a big issue- they’re easy to swallow. I take them with the prenatal DHA and those are also easy to swallow. I take the pills with food and I don’t notice any stomach upset or any other issues when taking them. I really appreciate that the company uses the types of folate, iron, and B12 that they do. I recommend reading about them and why they are superior. Very thankful to have access to these.
Capsules go bad very quickly. I wanted to love these prenatals because I trust the brand, but after 4 months I’m still disappointed. The capsules go bad very quickly. I couldn’t pre-portion them in a weekly container (even with a lid that snaps shut) because after the first two days the pills for the rest of the week have gone bad. I know it’s the pills and not the container because none of my other vitamins go bad.So I tried continuing to pre-portion the rest of my vitamins and set this pill container out with my weekly container but it takes up too much space and defeats the purpose of the weekly container. Two of the four bottles I’ve gone through I had to throw out before the end of the month because the remaining capsules started to go bad. They would get black specks in them. Some times a capsule didn’t look bad but when I took it I would feel nauseous and get acid reflux. Any took within the first week of opening the bottle were fine. But after that first week I just couldn’t trust they haven’t gone bad.I tried four separate batches and had the same result with each batch.I hope they can find a way to make the vitamins more shelf stable without sacrificing the quality! I would love to come back to these if they figure that out.
Rocket fuel. So I’m on my 7th bottle of this. I’ve been taking them off and on to help with the side effects of coming off of birth control. The majority of the time I was only taking two capsules instead of 3, and that was enough. I recently updated to three capsules because I wanted more iron, but then I started getting side effects from the prenatal. I think I’m not depleted anymore and it’s time to back off of them. But overall I give these a 4/5. This stuff is like rocket fuel and really helpful, but they smell really bad. I don’t know if I’d be able to take them pregnant because of the smell. Though I’ll continue to keep them in my rotation because the quality is great, as usual with Thorne products.
Great prenatal. I take these vitamins at night right before bed. I was anemic so needed the extra iron. I felt better after 3 weeks and was able to get pregnant. The clean ingredients and additional testing of the quality is why I pick this brand. I do have to take other supplements like choline, fish oil, and co10. So it’s not a complete prenatal. But I would take this over any store brand.
Best choice switching to Thorne after horrible effects on Ritual. I was on Ritual for almost a full month as they were the #1 best seller on Amazon. I felt absolutely horrible , moody, irritable, exhausted throughout the day and my body ached. I did not even think that the prenatal would have anything to do with how I felt. I decided on a whim to switch to Thorne prenatal and their prenatal dHA. I woke up the next day feeling like myself again, full of energy, no aches or pains and much happier. This is my third pregnancy and I had never felt horrible like I did during my first trimester, as when I was on Ritual. I do have part of the MTHFR gene mutation, so I’m not sure if that has anything to do with it, but Thorne is where it’s at!
