This keeps my trucker dog in his seat. Kind of. I bought this because my dog, a 45# high energy English Bull Terrier was recently fired from daycare (another dog was the culprit in the crime he was blamed for) and now needs to go to work with me.I drive a dump truck for work. We are in the truck 8-11 hours per day.Previously he hung his head out his window enough to distract me while driving (like OMG is he going to leap into this river we’re crossing), and sometimes liked to crawl by my feet (no good when I’m trying to clutch and brake).Other than keeping him mainly to his seat and out of my way, this isn’t a contraption that would secure him in the event of an accident. He’d probably strangle.It’s basically a leash that buckles into the safety belt holder. It does have give, he’s able to hop into the driver’s seat when I get out of our doggy dump truck.The plastic hardware isn’t stellar but it likely won’t break.It does have plastic components and is thinner, I don’t think it would take much for my dog to destroy it. He is closely monitored with me and I do correct him when he starts to nibble out of boredom.Its invaluable for taking him with me to work. I can see myself replacing it every 6 weeks or so. But its a fair price to work with my dog and certainly more affordable than dog daycare.It did work perfectly as far as snapping in with my old dump truck. It is handy because I can easily unbuckle it and double it as a short lead when he needs to relieve himself.My biggest gripes are the elasticity (he’s a medium dog at 45#) he can stretch it to the drivers seat, that it’s advertised as a sort of seat belt (seriously?) and the cheap plastic parts. In my personal vehicles, despite adjusting it to the shortest length, he still manages to get at me.My praise is that it prevents him from reaching my feet. It works with even old dump trucks. It is very affordable. It doubles as a pee leash.TLDR – provides a perimeter but doesn’t offer any restraint or safety features. Its a short leash that buckles in. There are cheap components that could be chewed in about a minute without supervision.
Love this. We’ve had this for a couple of months now and I absolutely love this! It’s been so convenient to be able to strap my dog in as quick and efficiently. She’s able to ride with the windows down and I don’t have to worry about that safety risks. She is a strong girl and she’s got a pull. Thankfully this is strong enough to hold her and doesn’t loosen against the restraints. 10/10 recommend this to any worried/anxious dog owners. We love it!
Awesome. Really wish I would have took a picture or video when using it never really crossed my mind works great you can even adjust it to your liking only problem with it which has nothing to do with the product itself is if your dog is active like ours it will probably step on the release button 😂 other than that I highly recommend I’ll probably be getting a few more myself
Dog can pull longer. Very study, easy to use. Only issue is the dog can stretch and the adjustment buckle doesn’t hold tension. Perhaps it’s simply a design flaw as most brands do this. We also have a Kurgo seat belt strap which stays true to size but is a little more challenging to clip/unclip.
Review dog seat belt. use with a vest and keep your dog from bouncing all over the car, keeps them safe. We have two dogs, two cars thus we have 4 of these total.
Works well. I’ve use this for my little dog. Worked well at keeping him in the backseat and not coming into the front.
Worry free car rides. This dog seatbelt is amazing. Our pup loves to ride with the windows down but he’s made a habit of trying to jump out. I would have to hold his leash to keep him from jumping out the window but now I’m able to let him enjoy the windows down without worry. It’s adjustable with a bit of elasticity so he’s still able to move a bit in the passenger seat without being able to lean too far out the window. The only issue with it is that since it buckles into the seat belt, he would have to be in the backseat if someone were to be in the passenger seat.
WORKS BEAUTIFULLY. THE HARNESS SEAT BELT I HAD WAS TOO BIG FOR THE NEW SMALLER YORKIE…AND I SAW THIS …VOILA… SHE WEARS A HARNESS ALREADY AND THIS HOOKS ON GREAT AND RIGHT INTO THE SEAT BELT…SHE WAS CRATED A LOT IN HER PREVIOUS ENVIRONMENT AND SHE LOVES THE FREEDOM AND IT KEEPS HER SECURE AND SHE GETS TO LOOK OUT WINDOW AND SITS WITH ME IN FRONT ON PASSENGER SIDE…IT DOESN’T TAKE UP ANY ROOM…EASY TO CLIP ON AND THANK YOU FOR SUCH A GREAT IDEA…I AM SURE IF MY PUP COULD TALK SHE WOULD THANKING YOU AS WELL!
This is a fantastic product. Our 4 month old Aussie mix LOVES car rides; but wants to sit in our laps, which of course is not safe!We tried a travel crate and he cried and barked the entire trip, which was miserable for everyone. I researched options online and saw the positive reviews of this tether.I’m so glad I decided to give it a try. Our pup sits calmly for the entire ride, sometimes looking out the back windows but not trying to climb into the front seat.It has allowed us to take our fur baby on car rides with a sense of confidence that he is not going to potentially cause an accident.This is a high quality tether that locks into our Honda Accord’s seat belt latch and attaches to his harness.It is adjustable in length, as well.It’s one of the best investments we’ve made!
