An Unexpected Game Changer for My Pool. I’ve been a pool owner for several years, and despite trying various products, I’ve always struggled to keep my pool water clear and free from algae. That’s why I was a bit skeptical when I first heard about PoolRX+ pool unit. However, after giving it a shot, I must say I’m pleasantly surprised by the results. My pool water has never looked better! The algae problem that used to bother me constantly is now a thing of the past. It’s been weeks since I started using PoolRX+, and the water remains crystal clear. What I really appreciate about PoolRX+ is its long-lasting effectiveness. It’s been more than a month, and the results are still consistent. I no longer need to use as much chlorine, and the overall water quality has improved. Another advantage is its compatibility with different pool systems, which makes it suitable for any pool type. My only concern is the copper levels, which increased slightly after using PoolRX+. However, it hasn’t caused any issues so far, and I’ll keep an eye on it. All in all, PoolRX+ has been a game-changer for my pool, and I highly recommend giving it a try if you’re facing similar pool maintenance challenges.
Game Changer. I was seriously about to knock our whole pool down before my husband came across this amazing product. At some point during the summer our pool turns PEA SOUP green, the pool stores would test the water in addition to us testing and they would tell us “the water is fine”… but it wasn’t at all! Who would swim in pea soup green water. My husband and I would argue over the pool water clarity weekly. We spent so much money on chemicals and backwashing and adding more water to the pool. He found this product and I kid you not, within a day or 2 it was CRYSTAL CLEAR blue. Ever since we had this in we have not had ANY issues with the pool water! I would gladly buy this yearly if it means not having to stress over the pool chemical balance. I don’t know how this performs it’s magic but whatever it does I hope it never changes! It’s one less thing for me to worry about now! Definitely don’t hesitate if you are planning to buy!
TOTAL GAME CHANGER. We have a temporary above ground pool that we pop up in the summer months and we were ready to trash it until we used this product. The last three years, we have faced a non-stop battle against algae by the end of the season. I can’t tell you how much money we have wasted on algacides and flocculants and PH decrease and increasers OR how much time I’ve spent brushing and vacuuming – all to little avail. This year I decided to give this product a try and it’s been a game changer – I haven’t needed algaecide or flocculant OR PH adjusters once, even with the increase in leaves in the pool this year (because of the heat and drought). It’s so much easier to keep the chemicals balanced and we just shock once a week – perfect! Single best investment I’ve made since buying this pool. You will not be sorry!
Must have if you do your own pool cleaning. I decided to try and take care of my own pool rather than pay someone. My pool doesn’t have any kind of vacuuming robot. So I bought a robot, some nets, a brush, chlorine, and chemical test strips. I was really worried about whether it would be difficult to keep the water clear. My next door neighbor recommended this as keeping the water very clear and he was absolutely right. It turns out all I need to do is add chlorine tablets once a week and run the robot. This product then keeps the water very clear. No algaecide is needed. Highly recommended.
Saved me while on vacation. The Arizona sun is hot and can make a green mess of a pool in no time. I added this to my pump basket a week before leaving for a 16 day vacation and returned to a pristine pool. Lasted about 3 months in 110 degrees heat in my 12,500 gallon play pool Regular pool maintenance was done other than the time I was on vacation. That’s about a month less than advertised, but I am still extremely pleased with the results. I will be using this from now on. Highly recommended.
Outstanding. I have always done my own pool cleaning, I had an issue with my filter and had to wait two days for the part so I could repair it once that was done we had several storms and dirt in the pool. I ran the pump more than normal to help clean the pool, vacuumed and brushed the pool. I then left for 2 weeks for vacation and when I returned the pool looked terrible with what appeared to be small areas of algae growing. I shocked the pool and scrubbed and vacuumed it again but it still looked terrible, I started doing some research on how to get it cleaned up. I came across Pool RX and decided to give it a try. After 2 days of having Pool RX in my pump basket my pool is crystal clear with no signs of algae, I am definitely sold on this product and will continue to use!
Great product, saves time and money. My pool guy had recommended this stuff to me and offered me a discount on weekly service if I let him use it in my pool. He charged me $90 a year for the PoolRx (which he didn’t name, he just called it a “mineral treatment” and I later found out what it was) and discounted my service $10 per month, so it was a net savings for me, it made his job easier, and now I see it probably saved him money on chlorine, too. I later took over the pool maintenance on my own to save money and looked for advice online. I found a very knowledgeable community on a certain website that was full of great advice and pool care tips, but some of the more vocal, condescending members of the forum were very against using any type of mineral additives like Pool Rx and would ridicule anyone that said they were going to. It seemed that more than anything they were stuck in their ways, but they had some credibility and made some plausible arguments against it, so I followed the advice and was using only liquid chlorine to sanitize and keep algae at bay. I was having to shock my pool a lot more than I had liked and the algae still appeared in some areas even though I was keeping my pool at 5 ppm chlorine most of the time. That’s higher than I wanted to keep levels at but algae would get bad if I didn’t (and yes, stabilizer and Ph were ON POINT). I was going through a lot of chlorine. After about a year of this, I said the heck with it and bought the Pool Rx. Huge difference, right away. I bought the 7.5-20K gallon size for my 22K gallon pool because that was what my pool guy had used. It has worked great and I have had no algae and no problems with chlorine levels kept at 1-1.5 ppm through the hottest 4 months of a Phoenix summer. Chlorine has even dropped to 0.5 ppm a couple of times when I had to go longer than normal between servicing it, but I still had no problems. I have not experienced any of the negatives that the “experts” had warned about. No increased scaling or staining, no green hair, no problems with the pump or equipment. Just clear water, a pool that is easier to maintain, and a pretty good savings on chlorine. I added this canister in May and I plan to add the booster in October, then I’m starting over with another canister next May.

Best pool accessory on the market. I’ve been using the PoolRX+ in our 15,000-gallon pool for the past few months, and it has truly been a transformative experience. For years, we struggled with relentless algae problems every summer, which made maintaining our pool a frustrating and labor-intensive task. Thankfully, the PoolRX+ has completely changed that.Installation was a breeze. I started by cleaning the pool filters thoroughly, which is crucial for optimal performance. Once the filters were clean, I simply installed the PoolRX+ unit into our pool filter system. It was as straightforward as promised—no extra tools or complicated procedures required. The results have been nothing short of amazing. Since adding the PoolRX+, our pool has stayed consistently clear, and algae has become a thing of the past. It’s remarkable how much easier pool maintenance has become. What used to be a major chore has turned into a quick and effortless task. We’ve also noticed a significant reduction in the amount of chemicals we need to use. The PoolRX+ effectively reduces the need for heavy chemical treatments, which not only saves us money but also creates a safer environment for our family. With the PoolRX+, our pool water remains clean and balanced with far fewer chemicals, which is a huge plus. The unit has proven to be durable and reliable, lasting between 5 to 6 months before needing replacement. This longevity ensures that we get through the entire summer season without any interruptions or additional purchases. One thing to note is that the PoolRX+ raises the copper levels in the water. While this is a natural outcome and not a major concern, it’s worth being aware of. The benefits far outweigh this minor issue, as the copper helps in maintaining algae-free water. In summary, the PoolRX+ has been an absolute game-changer for us. It has drastically improved our pool maintenance routine and allowed us to enjoy a clean, algae-free pool with minimal effort. I highly recommend the PoolRX+ to anyone dealing with algae issues or looking to simplify their pool care. It’s a fantastic investment that delivers impressive results!

Only thing I found to work on black algae. I got pool rx as a last resort effort to get rid of black algae that I had been battling all summer. Nothing was working. I would clean my filters, scrub and shock the pool 2x a week (sometimes double shock), add algecide, and check my chemical levels constantly. It was becoming more work than it was worth to just get it pretty clear for 1 to 2 days, only to see the growth return. I cleaned my filters, scrubbed and shocked the pool when I put the pool rx in my pump filter. By the next morning, it was significantly clearer. The water looked more clear than it has in a while. I have had it in the pump for about 2 weeks, and have watched the algae disappear. I still shock it once a week, per normal routine, but when I shock it, it is still clear. I would totally recommend this product and wished that I had found it 10 years ago. I makes a huge difference. I will definitely get a new one at the beginning of next swim season so that the maintenance is not such a battle when the Temps get hot.
Crystal clear pool. This works so well. I have not had algae since I put it in. It is also helping to maintain my chlorine level.
If you struggle with algae, GET THIS. Every single year we’ve had a pool, we’ve had algae as soon as July hit! It’s so bad that we’d spend the entire month battling algae and just give up and drain the pool in august.THIS YEAR THOUGH, literally NO algae the ENTIRE pool season!!!! Like none!!!!! And all the other chemicals I used to need to use like algaecide and a handful of others, I didn’t even need to use this year.Pool maintenance this year has been easier than ever! All I did this year:• Pool rx in a floater (always left it in)• Add a gallon of chlorine once a week• A bag of shock once a weekThat’s it!! I had crystal clear water from the time I set it up until September when I took the pool down.I also upgraded my pool pump as well so I think that definitely helped circulate the pool better than the pump that came with the poolDefinitely getting a new one next pool season!!!!!
Best Algae Control. This is the only algae product that actually works. We are in Scottsdale Arizona. It’s always been difficult to control pool algae, especially in the summer months. I tried just about every algicide product out there with poor results. PoolRX is the ONLY product that works, and it’s super easy to use. Just drop it in the skimmer and forget about it. Does not affect pool chemistry.
Save lots of $ with this product. This is truly an awesome product. It cut our chlorine tab and shock usage in half!!! We had zero issues with algae once we started using it and it lasts a year. I originally purchased this product locally at a pool store and it cost twice as much. It still saved us money and work. This has been a game changer. A+++++
THIS THING WORKS!! Even in the AZ summer months, it cut my chlorine usage in half. I’ve been using this PoolRx device for almost a year and a half. It is ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!! Prior to this, I was using a floating Solar Shock unit which I purchased online from Costco. The Solar Shock worked well, but required weekly copper rod cleaning that was a PITA!!! It was messy, requiring you to scrape the copper rod with a wire brush, and soak the screen filter housing in CLR to keep it from getting completely calcified from hard water. During a calcium build-up cleaning by a professional company, I inquired about their weekly pool service (just to see what it would cost). When i got the quote from them, I noticed that they required that you have a PoolRx unit in order for them to honor the price they quoted. I had never heard of it, so I did a quick search and found that it’s basically a MUCH BETTER version of the Solar Shock unit. You stick this item inside the pump basket. When your pool pump runs for normal cleaning, the chemicals inside this device disperse into your pool (it’s invisible…no noticeable chemical smells or color). As these chemicals pass back through the pump basket, they interact with the copper rod located on the inside of the device and it actively keeps algae from growing in your pool. You still need to maintain some chlorine in your pool, but it has literally cut my chlorine usage IN HALF during the summer months in AZ. I went from 4+ chlorine tabs per week (in the 110+ degree summer months) down to 2. In the winter months, I use about 1 chlorine tablet every 2 weeks. I also have a unique “water wall” that acts like a high-end spa where water flows down the wall and creates a unique ambiance. The top of this water wall has a trough that stores a lot of water and during the summer months, that water can get NASTY in a hurry. I run the pump for this twice a day during the summer months to cycle the water, but with this PoolRx unit, a couple chlorine tabs and weekly shock treatments (necessary for my setup) my pool is crystal clear with absolutely no algae build-up (even when the water temps reach the 90s). Several summers back, even with the Solar Shock unit, I could not get the algae under control and eventually had to drain the pool, get it acid washed and start over. Take it from someone who has to maintain a pool in AZ, this thing WORKS! You need to add the refill chemicals every 4 to 6 months to keep everything working and you need to replace the whole PoolRx unit every year because the copper rod dissolves over time. For peace of mind knowing I won’t have algae, the cost savings of 1/2 the chlorine usage, and it doesn’t require maintenance…this thing is absolutely getting 5 stars from me. Hope this review helps.
Crystal clear water awaits you. I’ve been using Pool RX in my saltwater pool for a month, and the results have been fantastic! This little blue mineral pod has made a noticeable difference in water clarity and algae control. My pool stays cleaner longer, and I’ve been able to reduce chlorine usage without sacrificing water quality.Installation was super easy—just drop it in the pool pump basket, and it does its job. I’ve had no issues with scaling and cloudy water since using it. Highly recommend **Pool RX** to any saltwater pool owner looking for a simple, effective way to maintain crystal-clear water with less hassle!5/5 stars – A game-changer for pool maintenance!
This Product Really Works. I think this is the fourth year I have used this in my dad‘s pool. We have struggled with algae every year and started using this three years ago. I don’t know how it works. I have no idea about the science, but all I know is I struggle no more with algae. The pool is crystal clear and beautiful and I buy a new one every year when we open the pool and I could not be happier with this product. For reference the pool is in ground and is approximately 16,000 gallons.
It Works. Living in Florida having a pool which is not screened is a recipe for pool maintenance nightmares. Ive always struggled to keep algae growth in check, even doing what the water tests tell me to do, and running a robotic cleaner nearly non stop. THIS product appears to have fixed my problem. I brushed and swept my pool, cleaned the filter and put the device in my pump skimmer basket on May 30. By June 2 no more algae. How do I know it’s working? I run a fabric pool sock on my pool skimmer which was basically staying green. Now it’s just as white as it was when I cleaned it on June 2. FINALLY, SOMETHING THAT WORKS. By the way my neighbor told me about it, so I thought I’d give it a try.
Works as advertised. This year we have been having issues with algae. My chemicals are right on I did have high phosphates but my chlorine pH alkalinity and everything else more spot on but I could not get rid of the algae even with multiple shocks it would just come right back. My wife saw this product on Facebook so I thought I would give it a try and I’m glad it did I have had it in there for over a week now and although it has been raining a lot I have not had an algae problem I would recommend this to anyone that asks.
