Well designed, works perfectly. I was not sure if I wanted to buy this after reading some negative reviews. For the price, I felt that I wouldn’t mind taking a chance. The real reason this water system was interesting was the filter. I live in an old building with metal pipes. The water is brown at first, and it doesn’t get that much better from there. I use a brita filter system on a water pitcher for my drinking water. I figured that if I didn’t want to drink unfiltered water, it was a little mean not to let my cats drink clean water.At first glance I noticed the design is actually very simple. I assembled everything and ran into the same problem that was described in a negative review, leaking water. I looked at the paper (singular) that came with the package and noticed there was a diagram on how the system worked. I noticed that I had removed a seal on the top of the filter (additional purchase), and that had caused water to spill out when the spring was not pushed in. After digging through my garbage (fun) I found the nipple, for lack of a better term, and washed it off. After inserting it back into the filter, the system worked perfectly.I am assuming the lid that leads to nowhere on top is due to using the same part on their pet food feeder. And if that lid did actually work, it would require a huge seal, which would have been a horrible design flaw. Sorry I’m rambling. I had to take a star off for lack of documentation and not including any free filters and then not providing reasonably priced replacement filters. The water system is designed well and is easy to clean. I would recommend this to someone else, my cats like it.Pros-Works perfectly after learning how it works-Easy to clean-Low center of gravity/ Doesn’t get knocked over by cats who like to jump on things and run into stuff that clearly has been there for a whileCons-Not easy to use at first-Lid on top is annoying-No free filters
This product does just what it says it does. Without the filter it worked great. You have to be sure though that you leave the black plug over the hole in the bottom,or you will have overflow, only open it IF you are using the filter. With the filter not so good, the filter plugged up or something and the water flow stopped, my cats were without water twice, only when I removed the filter and closed the bottom plug did it work properly.we use filtered water anyway, so my advice is if you are using bottled or purified water, save your money and don’t buy the filter. If you must use the filter,keep the water level high and check often,if you are going away either take the filter out or leave a backup dish of water. This is easy to clean, large hole for adding water, no spills and dish washer safe. We love it!
Mostly perfect. Certainly as perfect as we’ve seen. This waterer is VERY well made. It is easy to clean and sanitize, doesn’t leak at all, has a small footprint, and doesn’t scare our girls.We had the Le Bistro prior to this and while we liked it very much it was too small (2qts for 4 Chihuahuas meant we had to fill it every day which kinda defeats the purpose of this sort of waterer), the sound of the air bubbles was a bit startling at times and while the base was easy to clean the bottle was not.All of those issues are addressed in this product. Moreover, they’ve addressed issues I didn’t even know I had with the other!With this PetSafe waterer you can wash the stainless steel bowl daily without having to wash the whole base. Our girls are generally not droolers and they don’t “play” in their water but as a pet sitter I’ve met dogs who needed their water bowls washed out twice daily just so you could see through the yuck. The removable part cleans in minutes with ease and the slow flow valve also keeps the yuck out of the fresh water in the reservoir. I’ll be telling my clients about this one!The wider mouth on the reservoir makes cleaning it much easier as expected but just filling it is easier too, no funnel, tubes, or mops required!There are three things I’d change if I had me a magic wand:1) the reservoir is NOT fillable from the top on the one we received. You do have to remove it, flip it and open the bottom to fill it. This is not a terrible chore but as another reviewer had stated that it was fillable from the top I’d been looking forward to that feature. I imagine that the other reviewer had the larger size but I’m only guessing… We purchased the medium.2) The black bit at the top that covers what would be a hole in a top fillable design (but only works as a stabilizer for filling in this one) should function as a carrying handle but does not. I promise you bloody, torn, and broken fingernails if you try it. Don’t try it.3) The reservoir is rather opaque; as we’ve placed this out of the way and it’s not backlit it’s hard to see that it needs filling from across the room. I put a small black float in with the water in hopes of having a visible indicator but only just now and I haven’t any results to share yet. Try it out, I think it’ll work.We LOVE this product. A bargain at twice the price – no really, twice. Perhaps even thrice.You will not be disappointed.

I purchased the PetSafe Heathly Pet small after trying the pump fountain type units. These are often a pain to clean, collect hair, need replacement pumps and filters. This water station is something different and it is fantastic – no complicated parts, all dishwasher safe, no filter to clean, quality construction (parts feel thick and strong)PetSafe Healthy Pet Water Station, SmallBest features:- Dishwasher safe- No filters to buy- Looks nicePros:- If you’ve had similar items you know what I mean when I say being able to throw everything in the dishwasher is a big plus. Never worry about bacteria and associated issues, I just put mine in once a week, which is about how long the water lasts.- No filters to buy is a pro to me. Some people want the extra assurance these small filters offer, and they make filters for these. But they are not required and the unit works great without them. Instead of filters, see the weekly dishwasher comment above.PetSafe Healthy Pet Water Filter, 2-Pack, PFD17-11867- Asthetics. Last in my list, but still a consideration if this is in the kitchen. It looks nice, stainless steel and black, not too obtrusive.Cons:- No real cons. The black lid serves no purpose other than aesthetics, yet it is removable for some reason.Opinion:Buy one if you need a pet water fountain / station. Small is good for one cat, medium for 2 cats or a dog, and the large is big so plan to put it somewhere out of the way. Filters are the same for all sizes. I’ve used many types, and this is easy to clean, only a plain old bowl would be easier. No moving parts or anything to break.

Hey, I’m James Brains with the Brains Report, and this is my video review of the PetSafe Healthy Pet Water Station.There are 3 main reasons why we like the PetSafe Healthy Pet Water Station:1. Clean – Our preschooler likes to play with the pet’s water. This water station reduces the amount available to him. In fact, he’s shown little interest in it.2. Easy to Use – I didn’t even have to read the directions. Just pop and fill and replace. It’s a PFR operation.3. Easy to Clean – Remove the stainless steel bowl and use your soap-dispensing dish scrubber to gitter done.We got this for our two cats and dog for Christmas last year. You see, we have a family tradition of getting each other water bowls. Much like Stranger in a Strange Land, we believe the sharing of water and water receptacles is a true sign of friendship and love.The pets immediately took to the water. Even the cats like doing their weird licky thing in it. We have not had any issues with rust, and we like that you can see the water level to know when to add more. Also, it’s BPA-free and dishwasher safe, though I don’t think it would fit in our dishwasher.This model improved our home décor immensely. Before, people would come over and say, “Ewww, let’s leave.” Now, they stay for hours at a time. Some visitors even take their shoes off and get comfortable!Overall, I would recommend this to anyone who has pets and doesn’t like giving them water too often. We only have to fill it about every week or so. If you don’t have pets, I really don’t know how you would get much use out of this. Maybe for some weird BDSM play? I don’t know. It’s your kink. kinda cheap looking. update 3/1: ended up overlooking the issues with what i received and ordered a large size one for my dog and bigger cats. i ordered elsewhere to dramatically limit getting a used one again and it arrived perfectly and is slightly different. the large size (which with even knowing measurements, i was still shocked at how huge is was lol – bowl itself at drinking area is about 7 1/2 inch wide) actually has a handle on top part (thank goodness for again it is huge) of tank which makes it so much easier to hold on to tank to put and twist it back into base. i like this large size very much, strong and IS worth the money. it does only fill bowl 3/4th of the way at a time but, that is a good thing if you have a messy drinker like we do and it makes it less messy (more spill proof) when you want to simply pick everything up to dump water out of bowl only to get food stuff out without taking it apart.new or used, it is not quality expected for almost $20 for a small basic water bowl set up. Bought size small for cats.-Black part on top serves no purpose, so why it unscrews is beyond me but, am glad it does for i had to remove it and keep it off becuase it look like it went through a brillo pad cleaning, all scratched up looking like someone scrubbed it while cleaning it up to return product!-metal bowl has a stained looking inch or so area that will not come clean from day one, start of corrosion maybe??-bowl front is too small even for my 8lb cat to comfortably drink from so he doesn’t. the white water container puffs out at bottom which covers part of bowl drinking area. skinny top part should of been on bottom IMO.-i received a used product, not something you want with cats who can smell other strange cats used product even after you think you cleaned it well.. may explain why it is not popular and only 2 cats attempt to use it daily! now how do i know for sure it was used other than the top black piece that kinda gave it away? the product didn’t arrive in a box, didn’t have tags nor its own bag, nope it arrived inside a cheap wrinkled up plastic see-thru toaster appliance like bag with black writing on it that held something to do with radios since that is what was part of the manufacturer info that was written on bag!! returned items should really be returned to manufacturer for quality inspection for goodness sake..anyhows, the good things about this used water station i received is that it does not leak at all, refills up bowl as should, it is easy to remove white part to empty/clean bowl and doesn’t make a mess when putting white part back on as long as you align notches right with the bowl part before you put it all the way down. So even though used, i kept it because it did not leak, figured it was better to have one that doesn’t leak than to receive one that looks good but, leaks like other reviewers have had happen..was originally thinking of getting a bigger size if water drinking area was too small for my bigger cats but, i will not be buying again after seeing what i received with this small one. 3 stars only because of issues but, mainly becuase stainless bowl does not seem to be trully so at all, already showing signs of near future corrosion and getting replacement bowl is almost as much as buying the whole thing again!
Great Water Dispenser but Doesn’t Fill From Top. I bought this dispenser for three reasons: 1. It looked like you could fill it from the top. 2: Filter and stainless steel removable bowl. And 3. More stylish than other dispensers.I was impressed. Solid build, large enough to last through two dogs drinking from it, and to handle to make it easy to lift into place. And it looks really nice. It’s much easier to fill die to the handle and the unique design. Our last one that looked like a huge water cooler jug was awful. And the cap does screw on which is great.From the photos I saw I would swear the black handle on top was a screw off cap to make it easy to fill from the top. It is not at all what it looks like, it’s simply a handle to carry it by. In retrospect that makes total sense but I was hopeful.This works great, easy to clean, easy to fill. There are a few things I’ve noticed in other reviews of this product. One person complained that it leaks all over his floor when he carries it back to the base. Not sure how that would happen, if you push the cap in that plugs the hole there is no spillage at all and it works just fine.One review said the water wouldn’t refill but I’ve never seen that happen either. And when it does refill it’s fairly quiet so my dog doesn’tshy away from itAll in all it’s a great water dispenser. I do recommend you get filters for it. It really gets gunked up if you have hard water.Great product! Id give it 5 stars but I was really disappointed it didn’t top load.

Scaredy cat actually uses it. My giant tuxy boy is easily spooked by a lot of things. You breathe/sigh too loud? He jumps.. Move a foot when he is walking nearby? Four paws are five feet off the ground.He took to this pretty quickly, though. He still has his hesitant moments, but a few awkward stares later, and he finally moves in and gets a drink. Which he has actually drank quite a bit out of it in the few days we have had this. (We did Not fill it completely, just fyi)Getting it apart is a bit tedious. You cannot fill it from the top, so the black piece that screws on and off at the top there? It is decoration??? 🤷♂️Seems like a waste, but okay. Also be weary of the interior of the lip area of the water reservoir. While I was scrubbing it and cleaning it out before the first use, it managed to slice a knuckle on that interior lip. Thankfully it is not something I worry about my cat being hurt by, but my knuckles grumble.So far it is good. Will update if anything changes.
Great for a house full of dogs. I have had one similar to this. It works great. We have 4 dogs and we only having to fill this up once a day has been a life saver. Came in a timely manner.Only downfall is it did not come with the filter. But works great without it.
I have 3 cats. I have 3 cats. I use a lot of pet safe products. I like this one a lot.This dispenser probably holds more than the cats need but sometimes a friends dog will come over too. I like that I can take the bottle out without it spilling or leaking so I can clean out the drinking bowl.
No more daily water fill ups. I will forever be an owner of this now. I have a huge Golden that just drowns himself (and my house) in water daily. It’s so nice to have this and he can just drink till his heart is content and the water stays cold, and OFF MY FLOORS since he’s not tipping this thing over. The “gulping” sounds this makes as it’s refilling spooked him a bit but he got used to it. Definitely recommend for large dogs who’s owners have to constantly refill their bowls
Nice. This is a pretty good water bowl. My only confusion is why there’s a top part that comes off lol other than that this is a nice bowl my golden loves it.
Waterer gives water for dog drinking. The gravity waterer works well for my small dog. The volume lasts about a five days before needing to be cleaned and filled. Junk can build up from my dogs beard so I have to clean it earlier than that. If you have two small dogs, definitely get the next size up for the water capacity. I find the duration a good fit for providing fresh water. It is built well and easy to clean.

My cat loved. I bought this one and a water fountain again just in case. In the past i bought a water fountain I just liked in the beginning and then it was leaking and making my floor wet and I could listen the noise! My cat was very pleasured with this simple and effective water dispenser for the first time so I even didn’t open the second water fountain packaged and returned. I like this one because it’s cheap, simple and doesn’t need to worry about power on and any kinda of noise. The stainless bowl is a plus, very easy to clean and give my kitten fresh and clean water weekly.
Great water fountain, quality parts, easy to clean. This water fountain is the best I’ve found on the market. Components are made from and marked with safe for water storage HDPE 2 BPA free plastic. The basin is made of high quality stainless (which tested clean for no lead). Opening into the tank is large enough to get my hand inside of to clean. Tank valve assembly is well made and easy to clean. You can also easily add a water filter should you want one. I just put filtered water in to simplify maintenance. Highly recommend this product over other fountains I have tried for its simplicity and ease of cleaning.
