Related Product Deals & User Reviews

  1. Happy Picky Puppy. We recently learned about Open Farm pet food and I can honestly say we couldn’t be happier! We have a very picky eater who also happens to be a large breed puppy. So getting a high quality food that he enjoys that also meets the large breed puppy food requirements has proven difficult. So far so good with this product! Time will tell how he truly feels about it long term, but in the mean time I enjoy all the different protein & grain options Open Farm has on their website. Gives a lot of variety options to consider moving forward if our little guy gets tired of a certain protein or grain.

  2. My Picky Dog Ate It. My dog tends to turn down dry dog food until it’s mixed w/wet food but she took this right out of the bag! I use her food for training & I can’t w/most other dry food but I think I’ll be able to w/this, which is great. The food itself is small bites which is perfect. I transferred the entire bag to containers & there were no crumbs/dust @ the bottom of the bag. I was feeding The Honest Kitchen kibble & loved it, as it’s a high quality food but there was always 2-3 inches of powder/crumbs in the bottom of the bag – for a $25 4 lb. bag! The Open Farm food is $20 for 4 lbs., which I guess is still considered expensive but I didn’t pay for 3″ of disintegrated food. This food seems to be as close to quality of Honest Kitchen as I could possibility afford. So if my dog continues to like it, I’m sold on it. Very happy w/the puchase so far!

  3. Quality ingredients. So far my dog loves it….that said, I’ve not found a food that she doesn’t love. Mainly, I love the ingredient list.

  4. Best dry dog food. I have done a lot of research on dog food and openfarm seems to be one of the best products out there. My dog loves any flavor but I usually get him this one. They have whole ingredients and omit the harmful ones. Highly recommend.

  5. my dogs like this food. quick shipping. my dogs are picky but they really like this one. i usually feed my dogs raw foods but i like to give them some kibble here and there especially if its on the healthier side. the price was a good deal and will consider buying again. i checked my bag for the experation date and it expires in 2024. very pleased with this product and pleased with he seller.

Wholesome Nutrition for Discerning Pups. Open Farm Ancient Grains Dry Dog Food in the Pasture Raised Lamb Ancient Grain variant has become a staple in my dog’s diet, albeit with a touch of selectivity. While the overall experience is positive, my picky dog’s occasional enthusiasm nudges this review to a solid 4 out of 5 stars. The humanely raised meat recipe and inclusion of wholesome grains align with my preference for providing nutritious meals for my furry friend. The absence of artificial flavors or preservatives is a definite plus, ensuring a natural and healthy dining experience. My picky dog, however, doesn’t consistently share my enthusiasm. While she occasionally enjoys this food, it doesn’t evoke the same level of excitement as some other options. This might be attributed to individual taste preferences, as pets, much like humans, can be quite discerning. The small pellet size is a practical feature, especially for smaller breeds. It makes chewing and digestion easier, catering specifically to the needs of small dogs. The 4-pound size is convenient for storage and ensures freshness with each serving. In conclusion, Open Farm Ancient Grains Dry Dog Food offers a commendable balance of nutrition and convenience. While my picky dog doesn’t consistently show unbridled enthusiasm, the positive aspects of this dog food outweigh the occasional indifference. A 4-star rating is reflective of its overall quality, with the potential for a higher rating if my dog’s taste buds align more consistently. It’s a worthwhile option for those seeking a nutritious and appropriately sized meal for their small canine companions.

This is a great food. My dogs are starting to heal from health issues. They’re acting like puppies again even the 16-year-old peonies very good quality food.

Great Dry Dog Food. I have had difficulty finding a quality dog food that my small dog will eat. I was throwing away a lot of food as she would usually not eat the meal in its entirety. That changed with this product. It is added to wet food that I make and is gobbled up. Plate is licked clean. I like the fact that you can see where ingredients are sourced, although I haven’t checked that out.

  10. Worth it. Awesome kibble made with clean ingredients, traceable sources, and a fantastic company in Canada. They have many other options. Not cheap but will go miles in the overall health of your fur baby. Like humans “we really are what we eat”. Put the good in, take the junk cheap fillers out and see the results.

  11. The Best Dog Food. I started feeding my pitbull Open Farm about 6 months ago! I love the ingredients and standards this brand stands by. The quality of this dog food is unmatched! It is a bit pricey but so worth it for the health of my dog. I will continue to purchase and I highly recommend!

  12. Excellent dog food. My dog loves this. I love it because it has no peas or legumes which have been linked to dilated cardiomyopathy in dogs. My question is why are all the other dog food companies ignoring this almost certain link and continue to include these ingredient in their products. High heated kibble is the worst offender.

  13. Great company. Great food quality, size is small Great for small pups. Love that is shows where each ingredient is sourced from.

  14. Decent. Switched dog foods from science diet to one with fish protein. Dog loves it, no stomach issues. Only wish would have been to have resealable bag, and bag came with slit on front of package. Food A+, packaging doesn’t make sense.

  15. Good dry food. My dog is very picky and tends to have skin allergies, itches a lot, you know the type. He likes this food so I’m happy. It’s more on the expensive side but I just use it to supplement his wet food from the farmers dog. Otherwise he’s always begging for more food after dinner. Now he’s not. Recommend for sure.

  16. Dog likes this brand. The dog food is expensive, but our dog is small so it goes a longer way. She’s a picky eater and likes this food. That’s what matters to us.

  17. The best dog food. This food is amazing! We’ve tried every food there is and this is the only stuff my 3 dogs do well on. It’s pricey especially with multiple dogs on it but completely worth it.

  18. My Aussie eats it. Open Farms is all. Natural dog food. Grass fed beef. And my little girl loves it. She has regular BM and it’s not all runny. Doesn’t stink either. It is a little pricey but my fur baby eats it good. Also she doesn’t want treats all day. And she doesn’t get hungry as often. It’s a must try. You want be dissatisfied with it.

  19. Best of the best. This is my favorite dry dog food. Not exactly my dog’s favorite every time but they don’t dislike it, they’re just picky. The ingredients are probably the best of the best for dry dog food and they’re very transparent. There is no BS in this food like fillers literally made from garbage. One of the things that drove me to buy from this brand as well was the use of taurine. Not very many dog foods have it and it’s great for heart health. My dog has heart failure so it was important to me to find a food with taurine. I do wish it was cheaper but this is the best of the best in my eyes and it’s still cheaper than some other foods out there. I think it’s worth the price for my dog’s health.

  20. My pup loves it. I looked long and hard looking for a food that would provide good nutrition for my new puppy. I talked to friends, experts, and several Vets. I landed on this product. I’m quite impressed. Not only does my pup love, it smells good, and her coat is so shiny and soft. People think I have some special product on her coat, but it’s because of this food. I want my dogs health to be the best and I feel that this food provides it. Long standing dog health starts with what you feed them. Each ingredient can be traced back to its source, which is very important for her health.

  21. Take it easy for some dogs; jump right in for others. First of all, I would love it if this brand added raw bits to the dog food (like they do for the cat food). I would love it even more if they made it 100% meat (or better yet raw meat) with a little bit of bone in the mix. But this is the next best thing since it’s the highest meat content I could find in a dry dog food and my dogs will choose it over their old kibble. My 55 lb female dog was able to eat this food right away with no issues; however, my 80 lb male dog (who has always had tummy issues) needed to go slow. I’m talking a-tablespoon-the-first-week kind of slow. The second week was 2 tablespoons, etc. So it’ll be a while until he’s up to speed, but he’s getting there. Some dogs just take longer than others to adjust.Funny side story, when I began feeding my dogs this food my cat decided to start stealing it. She’s never done anything like this before so I bought the cat version and she’s thrilled, but occasionally still tries to steal the dog’s food. I got her the cat food that has the raw pieces, but I wish they made a version that was 100% raw meat with a bit of bone in it.

  22. Good dog food. Good dog food my frenchy enjoyed it but it definitely take a while to get to you order ahead of time

  23. Fur Baby Favorite. I’ve tied MANY and this was THE ABSOLUTE FAVORITE! I have three Shorkie’s, and they love this food! The oldest will be four, her and her two little sisters have been eating this food since they were puppies! The size is perfect for them to chew comfortably and enjoy! I think it very important to include grains and this food has it along with the grass fed beef and even some pumpkin in there to aid in digestion! Really happy with this food!

  24. Great product. My dog loves this food and the kibbles are small which is better for her since she’s missing some teeth. I love that this brand not highly processed and the ingredient list is short, full of good, healthy food, and not filled with preservatives and chemicals. It’s expensive and it’s worth it.

  25. Quality food that my dog likes. My dog really likes this kibble. He’s a larger toy poodle so I got the small breed option, but i think he prefers larger kibbles so I ordered the regular salmon flavor epic blend to try next. I like the transparency with the ingredients and that they use human grade.
