Olde Midway Vintage Style Popcorn Machine Maker Popper with Cart and 8-Ounce Kettle – Black

Pleased with purchase. 60 days in on this, here’s my takeaways:Packaged well, delivered earlier than anticipated (was an Xmas present for family but they saw it before I could hide it, better than it being delivered after Xmas). No issues with damaged pieces/missing parts that I’ve seen in other reviews. I would blame those issues on the delivery company more than Olde Midway, they seem to take care in packaging.Assembly was relatively easy, none of the issues other reviews have griped about. All parts present.Unit itself feels sturdy and looks good. Not a cheap feel to it. Only issues I have: warning sticker placed on inside metal sheet is not an easy peel away. Left a sticky adhesive trail. I’ve used some Goo-Be-Gone type product and it mostly got it off but Midway should look to replace these stickers with easily removable ones. Second issue: minor, but the fold down metal tray below the front glass door feels flimsy and a little cheap and doesn’t glide very easily when lowering. Not a deal breaker though.Popcorns easy to make, have yet to burn anything. I’m using coconut oil which has worked well for flavor. machine will smoke when you’re cooking oil, but I feel it adds to authenticity and flavor. Hasn’t set off any smoke alarms, and you’ll feel like you’re at the movie theater. Getting popcorn out is easy, really no chance of burning yourself unless you’re just a careless person. My 7 yr old can get it out herself without supervision.Cleanup: the thing I dreaded most. I waited nearly two months to clean (I know, gross). Watched a short YouTube clip. Used towels with soap water for base and kettle bowl and a vinegar/water spray for the glass. easy to clean with this combo. Removing the kettle bowl is easy and allows for easy clean as well. Should of cleaned this thing long before this with the ease.All it all I have no buyers remorse. Looks great in mancave. Get your moneys worth on this. Storage underneath cart is large and houses everything you could conceivably need.

Exceeds my expectations. I bought this for a birthday party and now I’m using it all the time. I have used a number of different popcorn machines over the years. We rent them sometimes for big company events where I work and I always volunteer to be the popcorn maker. I must say this one is very easy to use. It is exceptionally easy to clean. The kettle easily slides out. It makes it easy to wipe everything inside down and rinse out the kettle.The popcorn is amazing. I have perfected my recipe even further now that I have my own popcorn maker. I use a mixture of coconut oil, Orville Redenbacher’s buttery flavored popping & topping and Flavacol. I think it tastes better than movie theater popcorn. I am so glad to have such an amazing machine.I was originally a little worried about the size. I wanted one that would make large batches for when we had guests over. They were sold out of the 10 quart when I ordered so I went with the 8 quart. You can pop a full cup of popcorn kernels at a time. We had a group of seven over this past weekend and I made a double batch and it lasted for hours.I didn’t have any issues with damage. The parts all arrived in pristine condition. I also didn’t have any issues putting it together. Everything fit up just as it should and it looks great. I love the cart design as it makes moving it around a breeze and keeps the countertop space free for other things.5 stars all around. If you’re looking for a popcorn machine look no further, this is the one.

Update Works great but the upper metal guard is rusting bad. The 60 watt light burned out in one session. I bought a 40 watt for now.I added a harbor freight black magnetic paper towel holder. It looks like it’s made for it.It makes great popcorn and fast!!!Getting the right mixture took me a few tries. But now I add three heavy tablespoons of golden barrel butter flavor coconut oil with 1 tsp of very potent flavocol salt in the pot right before I turn the heat on. Then I turn the heater on and it melts less than one minute. I don’t wait at all, as soon as that oil is melted I add a 1/2 cup of popcorn. It’s done in less than two minutes. Pretty awesome addition to our basement home theater!!!Update!I still really like this machine but the amount of rust on the ceiling of it is really bad. See updated images. They made the entire inside stainless steel except the top. I went down recently to make fresh popcorn and there was rust flakes just laying on top of the kettle lid that had fallen off the cieling and I was taken back by how deep its pitting. I get it salt added to the kettle process, but my goodness. I’m going to have to make a new stainless piece at some point because this one will not last.A good machine but very disappointed about this one area.

Works great, and looks great. I’m very happy with this item. It works as intended.
