VERY strong, properly mounted. When my wife was scheduled for knee replacement surgery, I started looking into grab bars … and finding a zillion brands, finishes, types, shapes, etc. After considering some of the fancier and FAR more expensive options, I came to my senses and focused first on specifications, namely, tubing wall thickness, welds, and attachment plates (flanges). The Moen bars are really basic, but the specs are decent, it’s a brand name bar, and they were returnable if I didn’t like them when they showed up. I ordered them and they are just fine. What I didn’t want to do – with any brand bar – was try to blindly attach them to studs. I do a lot of home improvement work and I can pretty reliably find studs with a finder and occasionally a magnet, but I also didn’t want to risk placing a critical screw too close to an edge or into a weak spot in the stud, like a loose knot, and there was no way I was going to use drywall anchors for something so critical. Finally, I found by reading descriptions and instructions that the flanges for almost all grab bars are circular. While that offer a lot of options for screw placement, their sizes are such that most will only accommodate 1 or 2 screws per plate, the other available holes not being over the stud, which wasn’t comforting. So, I opened the walls, installed blocking between the studs, patched, and installed the bars with 3 heavy gauge construction screws in each flange – checking first to ensure that the flange cover would fit over the screw heads. The bars are solid as a rock. The flange welds would probably fail before the screws or blocking would. There is no wobble, no hint of movement whatsoever, no matter how much you push or pull.I’m happy. My wife is happy. They look good. Plus they eliminated a couple of extraneous towel bars and hooks as I bought 36″ bars so as to serve double duty. One is always bare, the one on the opposite wall has a few items on the far end that isn’t actually used for grabbing.

Moen Bath Safety Bar. What’s to be said of a safety bar? This is not the first one I have purchased and installed. But the fact is that the “big box” stores have resorted to cheaper items with an unproven history. I previously purchased Moen bars because of the name and reputation. When we wanted another, none were to be had locally. I figured one would be on Amazon. I was right and was also able to get the Moen Secure Mounts, not available locally. There are still some of us who prefer quality product with a proven reputation.
EXCELLENT GRAB BARS. Great price. Easy to install. All of the components are stainless steel so there will never be any rust stains on the wall. Excellent quality. MOEN knows what they’re doing.
Beautiful & Sturdy. I will be having a knee replacement in a month and wanted to add a support bar to my shower. It turned out nice, but I had to purchase longer screws as I had both tile and sheet rock to go through to hit the stud. I’m very happy with the results.
Probably last a lifetime. The bar was easy to install (6 screws) and will last a lifetime (or more). I’m using it at the entry from my garage to the house (manufactured home). There are three steps to get from the garage to the house but there is no railing. My wife can reach this bar and feel safe going up the stairs. We are senior senior citizens and occasionally need some help navigating stairs. My wife is VERY happy with this grab bar, and thus, so am I.
Senior Support Bar. Grab bar arrived quickly and was easy to install. It is very sturdy and has made a positive impact for Mom. Only negative is screw heads are a bit soft and I had one strip out when the bit got angled. Drill pilot holes and keep drill perpendicular so you don’t have this issue.

Perfect. Beautiful quality and they installed nicely. No problems. Put them in the shower for when my 93 year old Dad visits. I feel much better knowing they’re there.
SUPERB PRODUCT & STILL SO AFTER 3 YEARS. I have used these in 2 different countries including proximity to salt water and air. No rust or tarnish after years of use. They mount firmly and are a solid grab bar. Outperforming my expectations.
Sturdy, easy-to-install and good looking. Product has two flanges with multiple perforations so you can find align it with the studs in your wall. It is very important to screw both ends into wooden studs to they will support the weight if someone grabs on the rail while falling. The trickiest part is identifying where the studs are. I purchased an expensive stud finder because I have an old house built before modern framing distances were standardized. The product I used worked well, detecting the studs through the ceramic tile.If you are planning to drill holes in porcelain or ceramic, use a diamond drill bit so you don’t crack the tiles. The best technique for me is to drill the hole an an angle because the bit will try and skip away from your hole marking. Once you have one edge started, straighten the drill and drill perpendicular to the wall. I had to use a narrower drill bit to hollow out the screw path because old pine is hard as nails. Not like the timber you get in lumber stores today.I put one hole in one end, they aligned the opposite end with its hole. This way I assured that both ends of the grab bar are anchored in wood.Installation was really easy and the bar looks great in my shower/tub.

Perfect size. I didn’t use this in my bathroom, I needed an extra handle for my rolling workbench and this worked perfectly. 18” handles are not that common but when I found this one, I ordered it hoping it would work. The holes lined up with the predrilled holes in my workbench and it fits perfectly. It’s a good, solid handle and should work well for whatever it’s used for.
