So Good I Came Back for More. Today I purchased another Mighty Paw Safety Belt so that my husband and I could keep one hooked up in each of our two cars. I bought my first Mighty Paw Safety Belt a couple weeks ago and it has worked wonderfully to keep our little 13.5 kg (30 lb.) Shiba Inu restrained but not restricted. He is able to sit, stand, lay down, and move freely so he can look in whatever direction he likes, but he can’t dash about the vehicle, climb on us while we’re driving, obscure our view through windows or mirrors, or do any other such unsafe things. I’ve noticed that he’s actually able to use the belt as support to keep his footing better during stops and turns, a benefit I didn’t expect. On top of that, keeping him belted allows us to exit the car, open his door, and hook up his leash without him trying to (well, without him being able to) dash out before we’re ready. That’s another important safety feature that this belt offers. Since he’s a smaller dog, we have the Mighty Paw Safety Belt adjusted to the shortest length and the adjustment was very easy to do. We’re using it with the medium Mighty Paw Sport Harness which works great and attaches/detaches to/from the belt quickly and simply. The Mighty Paw Safety Belt is made of extremely sturdy materials, is robustly constructed, and is exceedingly easy to attach to a vehicle’s latch bar. My husband drives a 2011 Ford Escape and I a 2006 Ford Mustang. In both cars we hooked up the belt in the backseat, though the Escape also allows us to attach so it leads into the cargo area instead of the backseats. Since the Mighty Paw Safety Belt is so easy to attach/detach, we’re able to change the setup at our whim. In fact, we initially planned to just move the one belt from car to car as needed, until I had to make an emergency vet visit yesterday while my husband was at work. It’s especially important to keep our boy restrained in my Mustang since his tendency to climb and explore the vehicle runs the risk of knocking my transmission out of gear. This morning was my dog’s first ride in the Mustang with the belt and it was so much better than the untethered ride from last night. I felt a lot safer as a driver and felt much better about my dog’s safety as a passenger.I’ve never tried any other dog seatbelt before but based simply on my experience and what other options look like, I still think the Mighty Paw Safety Belt is the best. I highly recommend it!
Good product but does not fit 2020 Tesla Model S headrest. I love the Mighty Paws car harness. It is easy to put on, sturdy, well made and comfortable. Thank goodness it never had to be tested in real life, so I can’t vouch for its strength, but it certainly looks like it would hold up. In particular, the most comfortable and convenient set up for my 65 lb. dog is to utilize the headrest belt option. This option allows her enough room to stand up, sit and lay in the back seat comfortably without getting tangled up. It’s also very easy to put around the headrest, and I leave it there all the time so whenever she comes for a ride, I simply hook the end of the belt into the back of her harness and she’s good to go. She really likes it compared to the belt that clicks into the seatbelt latch which is shorter and more restrictive. This method often tangles around her leg requiring me to stop the car to untangle. I have used the headrest belt harness for about a year in my Lexus SUV and liked it so much that I purchased a 2nd headrest belt piece for my Tesla 2020 Model S. However, I was so disappointed when I tried to put the headrest belt around the rear headrest…..it did not fit. Unfortunately, the design of the 2020 Tesla headrest is that it is in a fixed position. It cannot be pulled up to expose the metal bars that hold it in place like the Lexus; it’s ostensibly one piece with the seat and it’s fairly wide. The way this harness is designed is that the headrest belt wraps around the 2 metal spokes (or the narrowest part of the headrest) that hold the headrest in place. Then once in place, you adjust the belt to tighten around the metal spokes so that in case of an accident, the belt cannot be pulled off the headrest. This is accomplished simply because the cushioned headrest is much wider than the 2 metal spokes that raise and lower it and it would physically be impossible for the belt to slip off the headrest (unless the belt broke or ripped off). Pretty neat and simply design. But the Tesla headrests are so wide, that the belt cannot go around it even at the belt’s widest setting and their headrests do not adjust at all. I’ve heard various years of different Tesla models do have headrests that can raise and expose the spokes that hold it….but unfortunately my 2020 does not. So I will most likely have to use the seat belt hook to secure her in place, and she will not like that. I subtracted a star for that as it doesn’t serve my purpose in the Tesla. But for other car makes where the seatbelts do adjust, this harness is a great solution.

Safe driver, safe dog. I really appreciate that all the bits are metal not plastic. The latch is also top notch. The d-ring could be better, but I’m not complaining. I like that it hooks to the head rest though I feel a self belt connection may be safer. I wish you had that option. Our 60lb GSD has zero problems maneuvering around the restraint. We hook it to a quality harness.I bought it to keep us and the dog safe in the truck. But I recently had surgery and needed to sit in the back seat with my legs propped up on the folded front seat for comfort. My pup was secured in the seat next to me. He could nuzzle me and cuddle my side but could not get up on me. Major bonus as I was still experiencing pain.We also noticed the our pup is less likely to act out by barking when he’s tethered. Another bonus. It’s a quality piece. I highly recommend it.
Safety belt for the furbaby. I only had to see one car wreck involving a dog for me to buy this. I won’t get in the car with my dog without using this. You also have to have a harness. It is definitely worth the money to have a peace of mind that my baby will make it through a car wreck. I did quite a bit of research to find the exact harness and safety belt that I felt would hold my baby.
What we needed. We have been using a tether which connected to the seat belt buckle part at the crease of the seat. The problem with that, is my large dog likes to stand up and move around, looking out the window, etc… He often got the tether wrapped around his legs. In the case of an accident, this would NOT be a good thing. This seatbelt attaches at the headrest and although it doesn’t seem as sturdy, I think it is much safer overall for him. The clasp is very easy to open, which I appreciate!
Works great. I have a 3 yr. old, 45 lb. hound mix that I rescued that had never ridden much in a vehicle. He was all over the backseat and trying to get to front seat. Harness easily went over the back middle headrest and gives him just enough room to go from window to window while attached to his harness. Very happy with it. Wish I had found this sooner.
Great Product. I am happy with this product! It is well made with steel and not plastic. It is adjustable to any size you need. I highly recommend!
just right for my puppy. We have a 4.5 month old chihuahua/dachshund. I purchased this so that if we are hit, she will not go flying and get hurt. I like that it clips right into the seat belt buckle, so it’s easy to move as needed. (We keep her in the back seat.) It’s adjustable, so with her small size I chose the shortest length, but it’s a very sturdy belt so it would work well for a larger dog. She is teething, so I see there is a bit of fraying from where she got bored. If I need to replace it, I’ll buy the same one. It’s made well and the price is good.

Great alternative to the click-in safety belt. When I first got my dog, I bought a seat belt hook that clicked into the seat belt base on the car. Little did I know that if you have a dog that likes to move around in the car and the seat belt continually pulls and tugs at the base, this could damage the actual seat belt base where the normal seat belt attaches. I bought this one that goes over the headrest and it works great! It’s adjustable to give your dog that right amount of “give” without having them feel constricted. I have a few different brands of these seat belts; I feel this one is more solid and sturdy that most of the others. The clip to connect to the dog is very secure, but not as easy to put on and take off as some others, but it does make it more secure.

Gone in 60 seconds but there is a solution. If you have a big dog that chews this is not for you. It’s well made and a great design but it’s not chew proof. I have a GSD that went through one in like 60 seconds. It worked well but he decided to chew it and “done.” I need one made with aircraft cable which I found that Mighty Paw makes ! I went for the cable version and it still looks great. Once again, the web version is great but if you have a chewer get the cable version. Mighty Paw is a great product with incredible customer support !
Keeps my furbaby safe. We want our puppy to love going for rides. But as she is just a puppy, she isn’t always safe to just leave roam about the vehicle. A safety belt was a must! This pet safety belt is well constructed, durable, and easy to use. It works well and is easy to adjust. Paired with a harness, we feel so much better that she is safe in a vehicle!

THE BEST CAR SEAT BELT FOR DOGS. This is far the best car seat belt to keep your furry friend safe and secure. I have purchased 3 and they are great. There are 2 good things for which I have bought them, first is that one end hooks up to your car seat belt, second is they way that it hooks up to your furry friend’s harness, with its durable aviation aluminum carabiner which ensures maximum safety, together with the tangle-free swivel clip keeps your dogs secure and comfortable without getting tangled! When I fasten all 3 dogs in the back seat, they are happy to go for a ride and I’m happy knowing that they are safe back there.
Easy to use, great quality ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. So easy to use, I feel my 53 lb. Dog really feels far more secure in the back seat with the belt hooked into her top harness ring. Makes me more relaxed too. Great, well made quality!
I am very happy with this dog seatbelt. This is just what I was looking for to keep my dog safe in the car. It works perfectly. The belt is well made and sturdy. I like that it can be used for small and large dogs. I also like that I can adjust the length of the strap. The clasp is metal not plastic. I feel safer knowing my dog can’t run all over the car or jump out. I would recommend this.
