  1. Worked so well once I figured out how to use it. I received this backing mid July. I tried using clippers and scissors and then I tried using this. My mistake was trying to use this when I was laying with my cat. As I often do I brush him but he developed very big knots and matted hair I couldn’t get a brush through. So I was having difficulty using it on him when we were laying. So I got the idea that I should get up stand up over him and bring it down from head to tail. It’s not a couple of times he looked at me a couple of times without any discomfort or pain. And then it just started coming off those closest to the Head where the hardest to get off and then the rest just followed very easily. If you have a problem with a pet that has matted hair do yourself a favor and get this. It worked fantastically well once I realized how to work it.Do it for the crater in your life, in your own peace of mind.

  2. It really works. I have a youngish (not sure) short haired feral cat. I’ve been feeding him for the last 7 months. This past week he finally started headbutting me and rapidly allowed me to start petting him. It’s tough to see in the first picture just how bad the matting was but it was awful. He was obviously very uncomfortable since he would scratch against the brick wall you can see in the third picture. He’d also roll on the walk and try to scratch his back. Not sure if he also has an itching problem but I don’t see any indications on his skin.I tried using a standard wire brush to get the mats out but had no success. Found this last night and ordered it. Came this morning! (BTW, when Amazon says it will be here between 4am and 7am they are telling the truth, at least at my location and I’m out in the rural area.) I opened the package and took it out to give it a try.I’m not going to tell you it was easy but IT WORKED!! Kramer is much happier and looks like a cat instead of a worn out rug. Use it carefully. It really pulled on his skin but if you start at the ends of the mats and work in it is easier on both of you. I’m not a groomer of any sort. Just a concerned cat lover. The information says long or medium haired cats. If your cat has matting it works. Regardless of the length of the fur. Buy it!

  4. Best brush ever for my dog. I have a Belgian Malinois with a thick undercoat and she always shedding an incredible amount of fur. We’ve tried countless types of brushes and shampoos and nothing made a difference. That was until we got this brush. I’ve been using it for just over a week now and it is still removing a decent amount of undercoat. I could not believe how much fur was removed the first few days. I would have thought the results were fake if it was shown in a TV commercial. Another benefit of this brush is that my dog does not dislike it. This is not the case with most brushes. I am now able to do a good brushing without her wiggling around or simply running off.My dog’s coat now looks more sleek and less fluffy since the undercoat has been significantly removed. I suspect my dog is more comfortable in this 100+ heat we are experiencing at the moment (even though she spends her time in an air conditioned house).

  5. The Best Pet Grooming Tool Ever. Easily the best grooming tool we have ever used in 40 years of pet ownership. Our dogs love it, even though it seems like it is yanking out their fur. Even our lab, who has the attention span of an over-caffeinated gnat, will sit unmoving for as long as it takes. The instructions say that the more corse side feels like a massage to pets, and based on my experience that is exactly correct. The brush is the most effective tool for removing undercoat that I have used. The volume of fur I removed from our two dogs was huge. Easily two plastic shopping bags full. Both dogs looked fantastic after brushing, and now sit looking at me and then the brush as a not-so-subtle hint to brush them again. As with everything our dogs enjoy, once is a habit.I can’t recommend this brush enough. If you have pets, get it!!

  6. Amazon sent wrong item. Cat6 instead of cat 8. Wanted for the increase distance. Sent me a lesser cheaper item but charged me the higher price for the higher quality item that they did not send. September 7, 2023 at 12:00 am

Great Brush. I have a Leonberger and German Shepherd and as you all know their hair can be MESSY. This brush does exactly what I need it to do and does a GREAT job of pulling out all the under hairs. It has 2 sides which is awesome too. It helps when one of them may get mats in their hair. the only reason I said it was hard to remove the hair is because most times I have to hold a dog while brushing so they don’t run off, so it is hard to do both of those at the same time. Overall great product!

  7. I love this comb. My cat, not so much. My long haired cat got his belly hair so matted I could no longer get it brushed out. He isn’t a fan of having his belly brushed so we had to shave it. But I was still struggling with the brush to get the fur combed out on his back. It just got out of hand and I couldn’t get it cleaned up. I had a shedding comb in the past but my cat hated it and fought it, and my dog ran from it. I was hesitant to try another. This had good reviews from other sources though. I’m really glad I tried it. I was able to quickly get all his fur combed out without any uncomfortable pulling. He prefers a soft bristle brush to these metal teeth, but I’ve found I can hold a soft bristle brush in one hand so he can rub his face on it and that distracts him from the metal comb. Now he is getting used to it and enjoyed it on its own yesterday. I can’t believe how much loose hair it gets out. My carpets are much cleaner now and I haven’t had any fur tumbleweeds since buying this.

  8. What a game changer. I have an Australian Shepherd and I have been brushing her around 2-3 times per week using a mixture of a furminator, slicker brush and a deshedding tool attached to a vacuum. I just got this brush today and wanted to try it. WOW, I can’t believe the amount of fur that came off of my baby. The brush has 2 sides, 9 teeth and 17 teeth. You use the 9 teeth first and then the 17 teeth side. I never got to the 17 teeth. I’m very impressed with the results so far. I regret not having bought this sooner. Honestly, I think breeders should hand out this brush when you get an Aussie. It is fantastic. Granted, I have had it all of 1 day but it really pulled a lot of hair. The only negative is the hair doesn’t all stick to the brush, so I’m using a vacuum attachment along with it so it grabs all the fluff that is flying around.

  9. Works great on our double coated lab. So, there are some complaints this doesn’t work on their dogs. I believe it’s really meant for heavy double coated dogs. Some labs don’t seem to have the heavy undercoat, and may not benefit from this brush as much as others. Ours is a classic english lab with a super thick coat. Does great for duck hunting in 0 degree weather, but getting under all of that is difficult. We have tried every brush, and THIS has been the key to really get that undercoat out without a fuss. Its great pre and post bath, helps separate the hairs to promote drying as well (which takes forever in these type of dogs).

Works wonders. My cat Boo, had some very bad mats along her back and especially near the base of her tail. I tried several different brushes and combs and nothing worked, her mats were so hard and large that I booked her a grooming appointment figuring the mats needed to be shaved off. But, then I did an online search and came across a list of things to do and one of them was this comb so I ordered it off of amazon. It was a miracle! Just a few strokes along Boo’s back and the mats came up! One of them was so big, she did a tiny yelp but then she looked so relieved when the mats were all gone. I’m going to use this brush along her back on a regular basis just to keep her fur combed out so the mats don’t come back. A $15 brush off of amazon is saving me a $75 grooming appointment!

  11. Pet shedding brush Works wonderfully. Thought about it too long and finally bought the shedding brush. We have a long-coat German Shepherd and this works the best from all the other brushes and combs/rakes. Had a fur…ator and that would get stuck. This is glides through and helps remove the matted hair. We do little bits everyday, so our dog gets comfortable with it. But it really works like others say. And we have piles of fur going into the trash, too. 🙂 Oh, as for value for money… definitely worth every penny!!

  12. Works well. Easy to use, easy to clean..take lots of hair off a german shepherd husky mix even after being groomed..used it after using a furminator brush and still got a paper sack full of hair!

  13. This is seriously priceless. I never write reviews, usually because the products suck. I am in no way affiliated with this brand or company. And in no way paid for my review. This brush is priceless and I would buy it a million times over, it’s durable, it worked great, it didn’t hurt my baby and he’s so much happier after his coat blow out and I got most of the hair off. It arrived in two days. So ten thousand stars from me, if you need a really good undercoat brush, this is the brush.

  14. Amazon Customer May 11, 2024 at 12:00 am

Well built… Sturdy. I used it to thin the hair of my German Shepherd/Akita/Chow and probably some other double coated breeds.. mixed rescue dog. His hair was totally overgrown and very thick and somewhat matted. Your brush worked very well. I have had several similar brushes break in my hand. I was at the point where I was going to have the entire dog shaved… Especially since I am in Florida and it is about to become extremely hot …. it will probably take several days, and I can’t say Bella is enjoying the process but I’m sure she will feel much better at the end of it all.

  15. Works pretty Good. Works pretty good but you have to be careful using it.It does pull the fur with great results. I used it very gently. be careful that it doesn’t hurt your

  16. Holy Hades, it’s a miracle. I’ve tried all sorts of brushes for my longhaired Siamese. Poor fellow is starting to have hairballs and cannot, for the life of him, penetrate that coat. I’ve tried other brushes before – regular brushes, the infamous furminator, and the “de shedding glove,” but none of these seemed to pull off more than a few wisps of his fine hair. I was skeptical when I looked at this product because the teeth of the brush were so far apart, and the hooks didn’t look that promising. I thought, “that’ll just glide right through his fur and do nothing.” But other people’s reviews with equally fluffy cats made me buy it.So. Glad. I. Did. I don’t know what magic this thing has, but it pulls out clumps of fur. The chunk in the picture is only half as much as I was finally able to grab by the end of our session. And beware, your carpet will be coated in fur, and so will you. He doesn’t want to sit still for it, so I keep a treat container nearby and let him paw and shove at it for a bit as I brush. Then I give him one and get a few shots in at his hind quarters while he chews. Another thing I noticed is that I pull out a lot more fur if I work the way a cat licks. Short, quick strokes really do the trick. Go in alternating directions to grab more – down strokes, then side strokes, then down again. Grabs a ton.I also listened to another reviewer who recommended the small for cats. Great advice, thank you whoever you were. Perfect size for my tank of a Siamese. He’s a happy boy now that there’s a lot less of him. Product seems sturdy like it will last a long time . Thank you Maxpower Planet Pet!

  17. Great for cats with undercoat problems. My 4 year old cat has long black fur and she is not that good at grooming herself. On top of that she has issues with her undercoat so she gets mattes more near her tail. I have tried many different kinds of brushes/combs to try to brush out the mattes before they get so bad that I have to shave them off. However my cat hates to be brushed because all of the other brushes I bought it the past would pull on the mattes but not really remove them. I would even try to loosen the mattes up so it would be easier for the brush to get them but to no avail and I would end shaving them off anyway. I had to do some research because obviously the generic brushes that say they “work” on long cats do not work for me. I was surprised when the words ‘cat hair rack” popped up in my search bar so I just got on Amazon and looked up “cat hair rack” and happened upon this brush and bought it because it was cheep. To my surprise it actually works perfectly! The first time I used it looked like my cat had exploded on my back porch there was so much hair! And it was able to remove her mattes with little to no pulling. Don’t get me wrong she still hates being brushed but I can brush her for longer periods of time now before she starts trying to bite me. I have also noticed a dramatic difference it made for her matting issue. I use it once or twice a week and I hardly see or feel them anymore when I brush her. I love it!!

  18. Works extremely well. This brush did an amazing job of removing excess undercoat from my goldendoodle mix. He looks better, feels better, and my allergies to him (he’s a mix) have improved considerably. I’ve tried other brushes, but this one is the best of any that I’ve tried.

  19. A Tale of 2 Dogs. My girls have very different fur texture. One has short straight fur and the other is long, wavy, double coated. My girl with short straight fur loves this. It gets out all the loose fur even when she doesn’t look like she’s shedding. It’s gentle enough that she’s wagging her tail the whole time and just enjoying the attention. My long haired lovely however hates it. It pulls more than a regular brush and because she has a wavy texture I think it’s pulling hair that’s not ready to come out. Although, it did take out a ton of fur on the few sweeps we were able to get she’s now afraid to be brushed.Basically, it works really really well but may take some training to be accepted by all breeds due to a little extra pulling.

  20. Love the Brush, Gloves are nice too. The brush works best on long haired cats, its amazing and they like it.The gloves worked on both a long-haired and short-haired cat. Though they will be a bit big if you have small hands.

Good product. I first tried this out on our dog before using it on our senior cat who I bought this for. It surprisingly goes through the fur with little effort, very smooth & little pulling on fur/skin. Our old man stopped grooming himself a good while back so I needed something that was more humane than a fine tooth comb. He didn’t complain too much before enjoying the process once the small matting was removed. Important to note both animals are short haired so I don’t know how well it works on longer coats but I am very satisfied with the tool.

Works great but not good for sensitive dogs. I have 2 dogs that are shedding in all 4 seasons! This brush pulls the double coats out and makes it easier to manage their fur and less brushing compared to other brushes. But my lab was fine with the brushing but my spitz mix hated when it’s pulling hair and tried to hide from me. It should be ok for most dogs but if your dog is sensitive to brushing, I wouldn’t recommend it(or you might have to be really gentle)

  24. Works wonders. Does an excellent job at removing undercoat of my two large dogs. The grip could be a little thicker so to get a better hold but other than that an excellent grooming tool.

  25. IT ACTUALLY WORKS. I bought this for my long haired cat and also works on my corgi! The picture is after running through my cats fur 2 times!!! She loves it and tries to run her head against it. Great quality, good price, durable, easily remove the hair and keep brushing! Ideal size and easy to use for any pet owner that has a shedder! Would definitely buy again.

  26. Specific hair length. Great for short haired dogs. It removes the under layer . Really grabs he hair . Best one so far. But I don’t think it would work on long hair dogs.Good price and very good quality.

  27. Love this brush. The media could not be loaded. I’ve tried several brushes for my medium hair cat. They hurt my wrist, and it felt like I could brush forever and still not get all her loose hair. Brushing her was a chore, and I didn’t like it. Now, I enjoy brushing her. It’s so satisfying. I brush her almost every day and it’s obvious I’m getting all the hair. The hair is easy to get off the brush too. Also, I can brush her for a long time with no wrist pain. She seems to enjoy it. Her coat feels and looks so much better. I got the small one for my cat. I almost want to buy the big one so I can brush my nephew’s German Shepherd. His coat is not well maintained and i know this brush would do such a great job.No, I haven’t been paid for this review. It’s just a great brush. Lol

  28. Great for My Bernese Mountain Dog. The Maxpower Planet Hair Brush is exactly as described, and it works wonderfully for my Bernese Mountain Dog! The extra wide design makes grooming much faster, and it does a fantastic job of reducing shedding—probably about 95% as advertised. My dog absolutely loves it, and it doesn’t hurt her at all.The double-sided rake is great for getting through her thick undercoat without causing any discomfort. It’s easy to use, and the handle is comfortable to hold during longer grooming sessions.I highly recommend this brush for anyone with a dog or cat that has a thick coat! It’s effective and gentle.

  29. Manpower Pet Grooming Rake. This grooming comb or rake is very effective. It has two different sets of combs that effectively groom our dog. We particularly like the side with the wider set teeth as it cuts through the coat easier and removes loose fur. It’s important to follow the directions to hold the comb at a 45° angle and to *not* use a lot of pressure, especially on the first passes through the dog’s coat. The handle is well designed and ergonomic.

  30. 1 million times YES. I was very skeptical about this, but this brush has been a GODSEND! The quality is great! Very sturdy! The handle is nice for a good grip! I can’t even begin to tell you how GREAT and easy it is to brush! It removes SO much hair! It was definitely worth the buy!!!
