  1. True to form. The media could not be loaded. First, I take a 7 or 7½ in shoe size depending on material and how it’s made. I have to say that these do fit to size. Ordered a 7½ and they slid on nicely. A little tight getting them off but not too much. They do sit a bit to the ankle but that should get better the more they are worn.Second, they do not have any sort of weird chemical smell. They just smell like new shoes and leather. It’s like buying a new car and having new car smell.Third, they didn’t have any indication they were used previously or were a return. Brand spanking new all around. Even came with extra screws. Finally, I can’t compare in overall sound as it’s my first pair of taps but they sound pretty nice to me and the metal holds together fine. I do recommend these for beginners. Not sure on just how long they will last though. We shall see.

  2. Inexpensive, sturdy shoe for beginners. Good sound. I debated about size due to reviews. I’m normally a 6.5 or 7, and I ordered the 7. I tie the laces about as tight as they go (my feet are regular-to-narrow), and there’s still a little wiggle room around the ankle opening, but not much extra length or room in the tow box. They started to blister the back of my heels when I tried them barefoot, so I wear thin socks (haven’t tried with tights.) The sound of the taps is good. They’ve held up to my very beginner, low-impact dancing for about a month and seem sturdy/well-made. I find the laces loosen themselves while wearing, so I have to re-tie/tighten them every 20 min or so. I decided to take beginner lessons on a whim at age 46, so I didn’t want to invest a lot of $. These have worked out just fine at a great price.

  3. Wide feet. My feet our wide and these fit perfectly. After pregnancy I went up a half, sometimes whole size. I ordered that whole size up and I’m very happy with the fit. No clue how long they will last and I read some reviews that the taps fall off and I have no comment on that. Just wanted to share that these fit a wide foot.

  4. Fit’s small by half size. I chose the largest they had. Size 10.It’s still too tight……I’m sure that a 10.5 would feel better at the front.I normally wear a 9.5.

  5. My First Adult Tap shoes. Size fits me great and for an adult, it is great. I have not had tap class since kindergarten and now I’m 48 years. Great beginner tap shoes, recommended for mid to wide feet.

  6. Great value for the money. I didn’t want to invest in $80 capezio shoes for my begining tap dancer (who is growing quickly). These fit the same, the capezios run a little small as well. Will definitely be buying again as she grows.

  7. Great shoes for the price. I was really happy to find these $30 shoes for a beginner tap class (all the name-brand shoes I found in this style were at least twice as much). They fit pretty true to size and are comfortable. The only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is because when I went to put them on for my 3rd class, the tongue came out of one shoe. Luckily a few stitches and some E6000 glue solved that problem; they’ve held up well otherwise for several weeks now. The taps are secured well and they came with extra screws which was a nice touch.

Good shoe for beginner. I just started taking tap lessons and wanted an inexpensive shoe as I don’t know if I will do tap long-term. These shoes fit the bill. The shoes are pretty comfortable and the tap sound is good. After reading some reviews, I ordered 1/2 size larger than my normal shoe size as I thought it would be better for the shoes to be a little big than too small. I wish I had ordered my normal shoe size as I have been wearing heavier socks than I might have otherwise. But it’s not a huge deal so I didn’t bother returning the shoes.

  9. True to size and decent quality. These shoes fit fine and are a great value for beginners. They are definitely not for pointe dancing. They do not seem to show excessive wear after a few weeks of use. One of the screws that attach the plates had unusable slots. That could be a problem if the plate ever loosened, but so far, so good. The profile of the heel is a bit narrower than the actual heel of the upper. It doesn’t affect stability but could make heel clicks more challenging. Since the heel is clearly visible in the product photos, I won’t deduct any stars.

  10. Good product. I wear 8 1/2 or 9 so ordered size 9. Perfect fit! The toe taps sound good but the heal taps are not as loud. They appear to be good quality at a reasonable price.
