Great investment! It’ll save your floors and help train your pup by giving him/her a specific area to pee/potty in the house. The media could not be loaded. Though my pup sometimes like to pee right at the edge of this puppy pad holder, when he does, he usually just hits the lip of holder. He’s a beagle/dachshund mix, and will probably end up around 20lb – he’s around 15-ishlb now – so not a tiny dog, but is still a small dog. And with him being “not” tiny/toy, and him being a male, he tends to not aim so well sometimes when he uses it. This made using the PP holder a learning curve for me.I started out using the regular size pads in it AmazonBasics Pet Training and Puppy Pads, Regular – 50-Count , which fit amazing well; however, with Morty’s – ahem! – mishaps with aiming, I tried doubling-up on the training pads – would put two of the reg size pads on the holder – and that left just enough pad “hanging” outside of the holder to meet Morty’s mishaps in aiming. I was even able to still fasten the holder through the pad, which is awesome! However, using double to pads to cure Mort’s lack of ability to aim for the center every time was costly, so I decided to shop around to see if I could find a solution to our aiming whoes. That’s when I stumbled upon these pads at Walmart for just under $10 before tax, but they are available to purchase here at Amazon, Training Pads Extra Large Puppy Pad 26 inch x 30 inch 30 count & it occurred to me that perhaps one XL pad would give Morty that extra allowance he needed, and it could be more affordable to me – it worked! .These particular pads have been working out wonderfully because I continue to use just one pad and still get the overage protection – I’m pretty sure Morty intentionally pees on the edge sometimes – but since they’re quite absorbent, it’s very rare that he misses so much that he pees “through the pad.” [The time he pees through the pad are the times he literally barely even hits the holder/pad at all because like I said, I’m pretty sure he aims for the edge on purpose most of the time.]Since Morty is a beagle/dachshund mix, he is a scent hound, which means that I can never just “let him outside” – I always walk him outside with a leash – because scent hounds follow their noses [pretty sure his nose is more Beagle than Dachshund lol]. And with it being extremely hot out now, I allow him to pee indoors at least 50% of the time; I am absolutely thrilled that he has taken to his wee-wee pad like a pro.All and all I’m very satisfied with this purchase because it has allowed us to have a clearly defined, and mostly contained space within out home for our pup Morty, to go potty in the house, and without ruining our hard floors. Moreover, since the holder itself is plastic, cleaning it up is a breeze! I just spray a bit of Clorox Clean-up on the holder, wipe it and voilà – odor-free home!As an aside; the holder mentions being skid proof, and though I don’t doubt the validity in that claim since the feet, which are on the four corners, do have rubber on the bottom, Morty is still a 7-month-old puppy, and sometimes, he can be a bit ornery and play with his pee-pad – which is always fastened inside the holder. And that subsequently allows him to move the holder from it’s original spot because he “pulls” it since he’s trying to “pull” the pee-pad off. Also, when my daughter and her friends play fetch with him, sometimes they’ll throw his tow toward the same area that his holder sits. When that happens, he tends to run across the pad/pad holder and cause it to move. I’m attaching a video to illustrate what I mean. On this particular day Morty was playing by himself with an empty two liter bottle – he loves bottles! On this occasion, his pad/holder is not in it’s normal spot – he’s actually moved it into the kitchen. Toward the end you can here him baying out the door at someone/thing. I believe it may have been the neighbor lol :)But since the times that Morty is able to move the holder are during times in which his doing it intentionally, I still wouldn’t dock it for “not” being skid proof because it clearly is. I just wanted to point this out in case you furry family member is anything like mine, and is full of energy – I don’t think there much of anything in my house Morty can move when he has high-energy like that. Also in the video, you can see how the XL pads fit onto the regular size holder, and the extra overage it provides – should you have a dog like Morty who needs a little extra overhang because of his aiming woes. I’ve also included photos of my pup, Morty. He’d climbed up on the chair for no reason really, but it’s another example of his high-energy 🙂
Keeps the pad in place, and looks great. We bought this pee pad tray when we got our little Yorkie. We bought everything to match our white and gray home decor, so this was perfect for that. It’s super easy to use. We buy the 22×22 Amazon brand pee pads, and they fit just right, and work great. You can put it on without fussing with folding anything if you want, but it’s also very easy to fold the edges really quick for a cleaner look. We do both depending on how busy we are. I’ve attached pictures of what it looks like either way you do it, and how it looks in the kennel. It’s nice that the tray still closes just fine without folding the edges on those busy mornings, and we are very pleased with it.It’s very easy to clean. Usually we just swap the pad out, but we use Lysol wipes most of the time, because sometimes he tracks a little smear here or there on the ring of the tray. I’d soak it once a month just to get a full clean, but the pads are pretty good, so the Lysol wipes are sufficient for the most part. Our puppy was not affected by adding this tray to the pee pads he was originally trained on. It actually gave us peace of mind when he was tiny and would sometimes play with the pads. He didn’t do it often, but he can’t do it with this tray, which is good to know. It looks so nice in his kennel. We have this on one side, and his bed on the other. He’s a small dog, so I don’t know how well this size would work for a dog bigger than 20-25lbs full grown. Our’s will only be 5-6lbs full grown and he has no trouble keeping everything on the tray, and has room for multiple potty times.I want to note that this tray is not 17×17 on the outside. That’s the measurement of the pads you should get. It’s more rectangular. If I remember, I will look for the measurements and add them to this review once posted, because I didn’t realize the actual size when I ordered. UPDATED:Dimensions: 19.33″L x 16.53″W x 1.18″HLuckily, it fits perfect in half of our 24×36inch kennel, and I’m glad it’s not any smaller or bigger. It would not have worked for our needs. I do recommend this. It helps with the look/aesthetics of your pups kennel, and protects the pad from the puppy flipping it and playing with it. It also keeps the mess from getting on his bedding, which makes life a little easier. I hope this and these pictures help.UPDATE 7/2/20: Our Yorkie is now basically full grown and just over 5lbs vs the 2lbs he was in these picture, and he still fits perfectly on the tray with a couple inches on each side to spare.I also wanted to update that this didn’t seem to slow, and definitely didn’t stop his progress in potty training outside, which was a big concern of mine. Once we got really focused with taking him out on schedule, &ALWAYS AS SOON AS he opened his eyes, then of course rewarding with praise &a half of a little training treat after each time using the potty, as well as any time he alerted us that he needed to go outside. He is totally potty trained outside right now, and has been since around or before the holidays. We still keep this in his kennel for those times we may over sleep or when we’re not at home incase he can’t hold it, especially since he’s still a puppy. He has had an occasion pee or poop on the pee pad over the last 7mnths, but it’s been rare. I still plan to keep this in until he gets a little older. I’d much rather just switch a pad out than clean a big mess, and launder all of his bedding because of an accident.

No more potty messes. The item is a good size for our puppy that has grown over the past couple months. We have a maltipoo mix & he was starting to rip his pads up and this helps to prevent it! There are many options of sizes, sturdy, and even can be a place for your pup to lay when there’s no pad on it. Not sure if it’s this summer heat, lol but our pup likes the lay on it. There is also scratch prevention on the bottom. I like that it comes with snap closure to make sure the pad stays in place. Definitely recommend.
Must have for dog parents. I’ve become an avid piddle pad fan, as I sometimes work long hours in Manhattan and worry about my pup holding in too long, but keeping traction on hardwood floors was very difficult. This holder was a game changer. I load a half a dozen at a time, removing one each time it’s used until it’s time to refill, which saves me time. I’m impressed that it does not slide around and can hold that quantity!
9 week old Pug. My 9 week old Pug, Balenci, had been completely puppy pad trained after staying with me for a week. I bought this to keep the pads from leaking into my carpet, leaving behind an odor, and also to keep him from missing the pad. He does not chew or dig at the pad when I am not home (1-6 hours), but if he did, I would not recommend this product. This is great for those with carpet, because of the bottom tray and raised borders. If you have a digger dog, or chewer dog, I would recommend using pet safe fake grass or a potty pad with a grate. This potty pad is exposed and just has a plastic tray under and plastic border keeping it in place. I could pull this from the center with my fingers right out.. Also maybe a lot of stimulating toys for your dog to distract them. Ultimately, this served its purpose for my purchase, so I give this a 4 star. Could be made better so that the pad isnt able to be yanked out.3 Day Update: I might return this because my pup wants to lay on it rather than pee on it now. I believe it’s the hard bottom. We will try a silicone tray.
Handy, solves the issue of a loose pad. Although this seems a bitSmall to my 14 pound Frenchie… she can not grab the pad off the holder and run down the hallway or sit and shred it in her box! I’d say it’s a winner.
Does the job well. I’ve been using the dog pee pad holder for a few weeks now, and overall, I’m quite pleased with its performance. It does a great job of keeping the pee pad in place and preventing leaks, which is exactly what I needed for indoor potty training my puppy. The holder comes assembled, and it effectively keeps the pad secure without any slipping or sliding. It’s also lightweight and portable, making it convenient to move around as needed. However, I have to mention that my puppy, who is in the chewing phase, managed to chew through the plastic within a few weeks. While this was a bit disappointing, I understand that puppies can be quite persistent chewers.Despite this setback, I still found the holder to be a valuable tool in our potty training journey. It serves its purpose well and has helped establish a consistent spot for my puppy to do her business indoors. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable pee pad holder, with the caveat to keep an eye on teething puppies!Overall, it’s been a positive experience, and I’m happy with the functionality it provides.

I like this pad, it has a perfect size for a medium size dog and fits large pee pads, the quality seems fairly good and the holders work well. I also love that it folds in half for easy transport and it also doesn’t slip on hardwood floor. Dog loves it.The ONLY thing I would like to see improved is if the dog pees next to the pee pad, the pee sometimes leaks down the sides onto the floor.
Easy to use and clean. The extra large size is perfect for my two shih tzus. The pad holder is made out of a very durable plastic that locks in place after you have place down your disposable pad. The design helps keep in urine from leaking. The pad holder is heavy enough and thick enough to keep the pad holder from moving around when it is used. I love how this keeps my floor clean as with other pads can cause leakage and odors to penetrate into flooring. Excellent value and extremely durable. Highly recommended.

Does what it says. I was using just a puppy pee pad on the floor, but when my puppy started to become rambunctious….she’d quickly grab it and play with it…shred it and try to eat it. I also noticed that she tended to only want to use the edges of the pee pad majority of the time….so I typically ended up with it on the pee pad and then a puddle next to it. I had to do something. On Amazon I go like always and I found this. Didn’t even know this existed. Works beautifully. I’ve had this for around 2 months now. Fits standard pee pads perfectly. It cleans easily. It doesn’t hold in any odor. This does not completely keep my puppy from peeing on the floor. This is not the products fault, she aims towards the edges for whatever reason. If anything, it’s helped keep more of it in. The raised edges do seem to encourage her to stay inside of it. We rarely have “accidents” now and no more shredding pee pads. See below.*On another note- she has scratched at the pee pads, like she’s digging in the dirt for gold as well as chewed on the plastic a fews times. I was worried I’d have to find another solution. She gets redirected with her chew toys and gets a treat every time she uses it correctly (no chewing or digging). At this time it doesn’t seem like it will be an issue that I need to address. She hasn’t done it since. So if your dog is determined this will NOT stop them. This product is not indestructible, please know this! It can be chewed on and if determined they can still get to the pee pad. I don’t understand why some people rate it poorly when the product is doing what it’s “intended” to do. You just have to know your situation and find the best solution you can live with. A dog is going to be a dog. Please address why they are doing what they’re doing to begin with. I realized that my pup (*puppies will chew) wasn’t getting enough mental stimulation, she’s an Aussie. She had physical but not enough mental stimulation. Combine that with making sure we only encourage the wanted behavior and simply dismiss the unwanted behavior. I’m not saying I’m a pro, far from it… nor is everyone’s situation the same….I’m just saying don’t expect a product to do your job, expect what it says it’s intended use is for. 🙂

It works great. I was little hesitant about buying this but super happy I did. Totally stopped tearing up pee pads when the pups get bored and very easy to use and clean. Highly recommend.
