Great Maintenance Kit – should actually be included when you buy the pool. This is exactly the type of vacuum that you need for large Intex pools. Our pool is an Intex 18′ x 48″ model. We were having trouble cleaning out the small debris that would settle on the bottom using the water/siphon type vacuum. Small particles wouldn’t be caught by the mesh bag (also tried cutting up my wife’s pantyhose to replace the tie-on mesh bag hoping that it was a finer mesh, but particles still made it through back into the pool). You’d also have to siphon out the added water and re-add salt to the filtration system. A real pain-in-the-ass. This maintenance kit has a vacuum with hose that attaches to the filter intake port on the side of the pool, via a special (included) screw on adapter. Therefore, the power of the filter suction does the work, no excess water. Inside the vacuum head is a mesh bag which catches all of the heavy, large debris. The vacuum head unscrews, so that you can remove and clean the mesh bag. Small debris particles and algae pass through the bag to the filter, instead of back to the pool like the water/siphon vacuum. Perfect, exactly what you need. All you do is attach the vacuum head to the included hose and telescoping pole, then attach the other end of the hose to the screw on adapter (which you affix first to the filter intake on the side of the pool). IMPORTANT – make sure that you get as much air out of the hose, before you attach it, by submerging it in the pool water. The filter cannot pump air and will run poorly and not suction properly if air is in the hose/system. After everything is attached, turn on your filter and watch how easy it is to clean your pool. It really does a fantastic job. The vacuum head also has bristles so you can scrub at the same time. Our pool was crystal clear all summer, no lies. Also, the cost of this kit was great, especially considering that they give you the vacuum head, the mesh bag, the telescoping pole, the hose, the screw on adapter, a brush head for the the pole, and a deep bag skimmer head for scooping up leaves and large debris. Super item, should actually be included when you buy the pool, but it’s not for some stupid reason. (Seriously, the pool cost me more than $900. Do you think that adding a $35 proper cleaning kit is going to break the bank at that point??? – Who’s the marketing genius that dropped the ball on this one???) The only negative was that the box arrived opened during delivery. I couldn’t tell if it was Amazon’s fault or UPS. Although, I think it was Amazon’s fault because the box is like a pizza box (sort of), you know, hinged on one side, flip it up and close it. The closing end/side only had one small piece of clear tape on it. The whole box should have been taped shut. So, it was bound to come open during UPS transit. Nevertheless, all items were there at arrival. A couple of other things – 1) the items in this kit seem pretty durable; 2) you need to be careful with the vacuum head as it is made of plastic and if you drop it or over tighten it could break/fracture (it’s durable, just don’t do something stupid); 3) the two screw-locks on the telescoping pole can come loose/unglued, but just apply some Gorilla glue and they will stay in place; 4) also, be gentle with the mesh bag when cleaning it, as it is only single stitched to the rubber grommet (you don’t want to break the stitching or the large debris will pass through clog the filter intake valve constantly); 5) the telescoping pole (fully extended) almost reaches from one side of our 18′ diameter pool to the other; 6) remember to clean your filter cartridge after you’re done vacuuming (just take it out and wash the gunk/dirt off with your hose and re-install – then your filter will work at max effort); 7) if you are one of those people (my wife) who likes to vacuum/clean your pool while actually being in it – the hose (even full with water) floats and makes it very easy to maneuver around; 8) not trying to be sexist, but my wife loves this, as it is much easier for the ladies to use than the water/hose/siphon/vacuum type. That’s it. I think I’ve covered everything that I have experienced. Honestly, I hated having to vacuum the pool with the water/hose/siphon each week for the wife and kids. This product made it almost enjoyable and cut the vacuuming time in half, maybe more.
Worth the money! Works very well. We purchased a sand filter at the beginning of the season. We loved the filter as it circulated the water much much better than the filter that came with the pool! We have an 18′ Intex metal frame pool. We purchased another vacuum from a box store, but even with an adaptor, I couldn’t get it to work properly due to air remaining in the line and the hoses would NOT fit properly. After researching further, I decided to purchase this kit-knowing it was at least the same brand as the pool and should work. The package came quickly and in perfect condition. I was anxious to try it out, so I quickly opened it and headed to the pool.I had researched online how to get air out of the line-put hose to the return to allow hose to fill up with water-quickly take hose to the suction and attach. However, I still had issues keeping air out of the line. I would prime the pump again and again and was ready to scream! Finally, I read on someone’s review to use the little bitty plastic cap that looks like a plug for a float. It should be in the bag that came with the pool. I had 2 of them. Place that over the air valve at the top of the inlet valve and wallah!!! It worked! I usually have to prime the pump at least once initially, but I’ve learned how to do it pretty quickly.This vacuum works beautifully. I typically use the larger one that has the filter inside of it. It picks up a lot of debris. When we have a lot of leaves, I have to empty it once while doing the whole pool, but it is fairly easy.I was skeptical initially thinking this is just a dinky kit. However, I have been pleasantly surprised. The pole is of good quality (unlike the cheap, flimsy one that comes with most), the brush is excellent and the hose and vacuum work well. I have no complaints with this product. I wish I had found it sooner. I haven’t used the leaf net, so I can’t report on that.I have used it for several months now, so I feel like I’ve given it time to report on it accurately. It’s definitely better than the one where the hose attaches. I was tired of dragging the hose around the pool all of the time!
The price was better than I could find elsewhere. It works! I gave this kit five stars simply because it does exactly as I hoped it would. No quibble could tarnish my satisfaction with the product or the seller. The product arrived at my home one day before the beginning of the promised delivery range. Buy with confidence.I bought this kit to clean up the sand and debris that settled at the bottom of my 18’x48″ Intex. We have had pools the whole time my kids were growing up. We started with small pools with venturi vacuums and worked our way up to a 27’x52″ pool with a DE filter and an excellent vacuum. Of all the vacuums I’ve had, I like this one best.Take a look at the picture I attached. This is the bag in the filter. It’s a big picture. Hopefully, you can see that the bag is filled with sand. So, the vacuum sucks up grains of sand and the bag holds it until. No sand in the filter and no sand sneaking through the net bag. There is a little rubber flap which opens during vacuuming and closes when you disconnect the filter. This keeps debris from finding its way back into the pool. The kit includes an adapter which attaches the included hose to the inteke of the filter. The hose just presses onto the adapter. The vacuum has two heads. The one I used today is just a flattened tube. It did a great job with the sand. If I had to scrub the liner, I would have used the other head which has bristled. One more good thing about the vacuum: the pole is very rugged and extends to 9′ — just enough to clean my pool from outside. The 20′ One bad thing about the vacuum: The vacuum body is a ‘quick disconnect’ rather than a full thread and it came apart a couple times during my cleaning session. You really have to be careful screwing the parts together then be careful not to put too much pressure on the handle. Turned out to be a minor annoyance.Here’s a tip for those having trouble filling the 20′ hose: hold both ends underwater with one hand and fill one end from a garden hose until water comes out the other with no air bubbles.Everything else in the kit is fine. The net appears to be durable. The brush is very easy to handle due to its smaller size. Two thumbs up for an effective, inexpensive Pool Maintentance Kit.

Description and box lacking. Ultimately everything in this box works and the assortment is a great deal.The description kind of mentions the hose but not super clear. Then I got the box with a picture of the contents with no hose in the photo, no hose listed in the contents of the box.I didn’t open the box and called about it. That was a fiasco because they didn’t understand that I was asking for why the box showed no hose (they were blaming Amazon)I finally opened the box and lo and behold there was a hose after all.The suction of the pump that came with my 18 ft pool was barely enough, but no vacuum would be better…just an underpowered pump.I upgraded to a sand filter and everything is working so much better now.So unclear package and listing, but ultimately a good product
Gets the job done. I have a small Intex 10×30 pool I bought for myself. This little vacuum does a good job & gets the job done. I was expecting stronger suction from the filter but recognize the filter is great for the pool needs but not as strong as an inground pool for cleaning(like I remember my grandparents permanent pool). That said, the net & telescoping pole are great(over kill for my small pool but great if your pool is wider) , vacuum canister holds all the debris I vacuum up without having to empty the canister while completing one round of cleaning. There is plenty of tubing if someone had a larger pool to clean. I haven’t needed to use the other attachments (but have tried them) & they work as intended. Overall it was a good investment. My little pool is sparkling clean & the grandkids & I have been enjoying keeping cool in it (please note I fill my pool from my well & what is seen is sediment from the initial filling regular vacuuming & the filter itself keeps the pool sparkling clean)
Better than expected. I wasn’t sure what to expect because I was unaware that there was a product like this for cleaning above ground pools. It went on sale so I took a gamble and bought it. I am glad I did. It was very easy to use. Simply unscrew your intake valve cover on the inside of the pool and screw on the hose. Once you get the air out of the hose you just push it around. Easy. The filter had a lot of fine particles in it which was a surprise because I thought the pool was clean before I tried this! At this price, a must buy.
This is all you need for a smaller pool, mine is 16x10x48 & It’s Perfect. My pump didn’t have enough suction to move the first vacuum I bought for 4xs the price, so I decided to go basic and got this one for $22 buck b/c I bought used/like new condition and the only thing used about it was the box wasn’t in the greatest condition but everything inside was still n sealed unopened packaging… and it’s so simply to hook up, it comes with an adapter they u just screw into your current filter inside the pool and attach the hoses to each end, one from adapter & the other to the vacuum, also I seen ppl complain about hose falling off… well simply solution, you take hose clamps to both ends so it tightens and won’t come off!! Duhhh! Lol and all the attachments work like a charm, one of them gets right in-between where the lining seems together and where all the build up lands at, so I would suggest this to everyone who wants a easy and simple way to keep it pool clean!!
Amazing Pool Vacuum & Accessories. We bought this kit while on sale because I wanted to try a different pool vacuum from the one we had when we got our pool. I will say that while all the accessories are nice, this pool vacuum is amazing compared to what we had.I love that it has the net in it to capture the large debris and also the one-way valve so when you pull it out of the water the stuff you vacuumed up doesn’t fall back into the pool. For new pool owners, I highly recommend this kit!
