Miraculous restoration. I have a wood front door that I stained and lacquered myself. Over this winter we had heavy rains that soaked the bottom of the door and had started to ruin the finish; the lacquer was peeling in some parts and almost all of it had turned milky along the bottom panel. Then, I accidentally soaked the entire door with a sprinkler without realizing it, and that left milky streaks and discoloration over the entire door. We are selling our house so it was really poor timing. I tried another product (rejuvenate) which helped eliminate the streaks but left everything with a milky finish. This product though brought the door completely back to life. It looks as good as when I first installed it!
It’s not magic. Our back door was installed when house was built. That makes it over 40 years old. The sun shines on one side of the door the first thing in the morning until 1 or 2 in the afternoon. There are several sun faded areas because of that. I used the Restor-A-Finish with 0000 steel wool then wiped it off with a clean cloth. So – it didn’t cover the sun faded areas to match the rest of the door; but, I didn’t expect it to. The sun fades are a little darker after application, and I’m good with that. Really don’t think it’s necessary to apply the product with steel wool. Think the same results would have occurred with rub on/rub off with clean cloths. After applying I waxed it with carnauba car wax. The inside of the door that doesn’t get sun, turned out very nice. The sun faded side of the door isn’t perfect, but don’t think anyone is going to open the door and examine it. In other words what they don’t know won’t hurt them.I highly recommend the product for ease of application along with very nice results. Just have an open mind because it’s not magic.
Every project looks easy until it doesn’t. I think I have to sand down the table first. It works on laminate floors and hardwood floors .. and does not smear, smudge, or smell. If you’re looking for a quick fix, this probably isn’t it. you have to sand down your furniture; after sanding down, you want to use a fine sander to get all the bumps and imperfections out. if you have to use a wo a wood filler, or putty, you can do that and then sand it again so everything is smooth.when you go to apply this product you will be amazed at how new the piece of furniture looks …great as a starter to any new project
Great product. I just finished putting this product on my 25 yr old dining room chairs. They look beautiful. This product is easy to use. I applied with a small soft cloth. I also did my kitchen cabinets and they look great too. I hope it lasts between applications. So far I am pleased with the results of my kitchen cabinets and the dining room chairs. All set for the holidays!
Easy to use and works GREAT. I bought this product to take care of a large area Of a solid wood table from the 50s. Someone had placed a hot plate on it (numerous times) and the stain had faded greatly. I applied this product and immediately noticed a difference. The fading started to disappear and the wood no longer look dried out. I applied a few more times and now I can’t even tell there was ever an issue. I then applied to other pieces, an old school treadle sewing cabinet and a 1950s Encyclopedia cabinet, and they all look refreshed and shiny. The product is easy to use (just wipe it on with a rag) and works beautifully!
Amazing Results on Old Paneling. I used Neutral Restor-A-Finish on some old paneling, and the results are incredible! It looks like brand new wood after some elbow grease and time. The product restored the finish beautifully, bringing back the natural shine without any harsh chemicals. Highly recommend for anyone looking to refresh old wood!
Stunning difference. Ordered this color by mistake but didn’t return so I had it at hand for this quick project. Simply wipe in, immediately wipe off,(although you don’t have to rush!) and you are done. Can be applied multiple times, dries quickly and looks great! Stains are gone! Follow up with Howard wax and feed to take it to the next level!
Magic for Wood. I had recently purchased an mcm credenza with some scuff marks and small dings and was hoping to make them less noticeable. After applying this product to all affected areas they are not visible at all. The product is so quick and easy to.use with unexpectedly amazing results. Highly recommend
Brought life back to my 100 year old gramophone. This gramophone has been around longer than every person who might read this review has. Its sound got someone through the stock market crash of ’29. It was a nostalgic relic through a devastating world war. It spent many a year languishing in dusty attics. It was dry, dull, and thirsty.I’ve never used a Howard’s product before. I’ve never restored anything before. This was my first time doing anything like this. So, total newbie.Just look at it. It looks even better in person (and looked even worse, too). Incredible product. And for how easy it is to use? Few things in life go so smoothly. I couldn’t believe it. I followed up with the feed n wax as they recommend. My antique is looking beautiful again! I was so pleased to have been able to restore it and keep the original finish intact rather than refinishing. No sanding, stripping or tears required. 10/10 from me.

Amazing. I kept seeing ads for a wood restorer on all sorts of websites that sounded like just what I needed to revitalize my old wooden kitchen cabinets. After doing a little research I found it was a total scam item. A carpenter my husband know recommended this. No, it didn’t make my cabinets look brand new, but, it really made them look a lot better! I poured a little on to a rag and rubbed it on all surfaces (doors, drawers etc) whether it was still varnished or not. So much better looking. Took 10 years off there look. I highly recommend!

Really Works. Wow, this product really works! It covered up scratches and marks on a walnut countertop. I only had to use a very small amount. It dried quickly and matched perfectly.
Works as is stated..easy and fast. This product works as stated ! Dries quickly, has nice luster, and did not smell..I used a rag to apply and buff in. Not difficult at all. BUT..the size is 1/2 the size that sold at other home improvement stores at same price! So NO, this SIZE is not a good value. That said, I have alot of cabinets and the can is still 3/4 full. Product goes far! (Bought a Walnut color as to not add to the red tone of my wood) it worked!

Easy to apply, good results. This product while not a miracle worker, did definitely improve the appearance of my late 80’s golden oak cabinets. I know they are considered “outdated” but we like the look of natural wood. Recently they were looking a little worse for wear, dull and dry looking in spots. In the past I have lightly sanded and brushed on a coat of clear poly with good results. I wanted to find something that didn’t require all that drying time. This fit the bill perfectly. It was very easy to apply & even though it warns about the fumes I did not find the fumes terrible. I did run the ceiling fan and opened a window.I have a smallish L shaped kitchen and the whole project was done in about an hour. It took about half the bottle. This product did well as far as giving it a good shine and evening out the color/tone of my most used cabinets that had worn down dry areas. It did not fix most of the deeper imperfections though (like I said, not a miracle product). But for the money and ease of applying, I would definitely use this product again.
I was skeptical….but. This stuff really works. We remodelled a dining room that had dark knotty pine panelling over all the walls. We stored most of the panelling outside and NOT fully protected from weather. After two years of rain, wind & snow, we decided to try to use some of it to make a built-in bookcase. The panelling was pretty ratty by then, but Restore-a-Finish gave it a new life. It’s better looking now than when we took it down.It will not really soften a film of finish, so don’t expect to re-distribute anything to cover major scratches. However, the colorant in the liquid does a really good job of making scratches and blemishes disappear (I have several cans of an assortment of colors). Best of all, If you apply it with 4/0 steel wool, it cleans amazingly well, and leaves a soft glow on the surface after wiping it off and polishing with a soft cloth.A local museum of antique radios has used it to restore all of their wooden cabinets. Many products make empty promises, but this one follows through. Five stars!
Awesome product. This stuff is amazing! I’ve used it all over my house to restore wood trim, wood flooring and furniture. It evens out the color where faded and gives old wood a healthy glow again. Light scratches disappear! Like putting lotion on dry skin! Super easy to use, not a very strong smell – awesome product!!!!
Works great. It worked better than expected. It’s not going to bring your furniture back to brand new but it will very much hide cosmetic flaws. Easy to use. I recommend following up with the conditioner. The photo is partially done with the restore a finish and you definitely see an improvement in appearance.
Work great on my kitchen cabinets. Great product. After some online searching I found others restored finishes without stripping with Howard’s restor-a-finish and 0000 steel wool. After cleaning with some dawn and rinsing well I had done just that. I’m really happy with how well it worked. My hickory cabinets poly finish had worn in a few places and the products penetrated and coated those areas well. They don’t have scratches so I can’t say how well it would hide that type of wear. The oil dried by the next day and evened out the finish.

Útil pero no cubrió mis expectativas. Le dio brillo a mi mesa, pero lo compré creyendo que desaparecía las marcas producida por calor y no fue así
