Clean, Rinse, Deodorize, Your Sink, Fast. I really like these garbage disposal cleaner packets. I discovered them at a local big box hardware store several years ago and have been using them ever since. They are really easy to use, just run some hot water for a minute or two in the side of the sink with the disposal, then cut the stream of water back to a small, thin, but steady stream of water water down the center separator and drop unopened single packet down into the disposal (it might need a little poke to be completely down inside). With your hands completely away from the disposal opening, flip the switch and the blades inside will grind up the paper like packet, releasing cleaner and a great lemon fresher scent that will begin to foam not only up and out of the disposal but also it will come up the other side (if you have a double sink) slightly filling both sinks. Listen for the disposal to sound as though it doesn’t have any contents in it (15-20 seconds), then flip off the disposal and rinse the residual foam down both sinks. It does a great job of not only cleaning out food particles that have been in the sink catches but leaves a great lemon smell. These are great after you’ve put old veggies and/or been disposing of particularly smelling things like fish. For their function and price, I give these disposal care packs 5-stars
Far Superior to Plink Cleaners, True Cleaning Power, A Few Words of Caution Though. For years I used the little Plink brand disposal cleaner balls and was underwhelmed by their performance because they’d give off a citrus scent for about a minute and then my disposal would go back to smelling rotten immediately. I found out about these from another customer’s review on the Plink balls and now this product is the only disposal cleaner I use. To use these, you run hot water into the sink (not directly into the disposal) for about a minute or so and then you put the white packet into the disposal with the disposal off and continue to run the water while turning the disposal on. You do NOT open or puncture the white packet to empty the contents – the hot water and disposal blades dissolve the packet.While the disposal is running, the blue cleansing foam will rise up out of the disposal into the sink itself and when cleaning is complete, the foam will suck itself back down into the disposal and when this happens, then you know the cleaning cycle is complete and you can turn off the disposal. The packets are lemon scented and while the scent does linger longer than Plinks, it doesn’t last more than about 5-10 minutes, but my disposal doesn’t smell rotten immediately either. The major difference here is the cleaning power. With Plinks the disposal would always go back to smelling foul fast and the Plinks didn’t clean it internally as Disposer Care does. After using Disposer Care, the disposal stays fresh smelling and no odors come back for at least a week. It truly does clean the disposal, but be aware that it doesn’t really clean the backs of the little black rubber around the sink hole. After I use Disposer Care, I take a wet paper towel and wipe the backs of those – the cleaner breaks up whatever grime is there and makes it easier to wipe away.The blue foaming action is neat to watch, but make sure you stand back and not directly over the disposal in case any splashing occurs. The chemicals in this are major irritants and could irritate the skin or eyes. I like that for only $10, you get 8 packs, so these are a great value. We use them every 2-3 weeks. A major warning is that you’ll want to check the disposal before using this product (I use a latex glove to reach down into the disposal) to make sure there are not foreign objects or large food particles. The second time I used these, somehow my husband got a toothpick in the bottom of the disposal and neither of us was aware of this and when I turned on the disposal, a huge blue explosion happened with the blue foam literally shooting out of the disposal and getting all over my clothes, countertops, and floor. Talk about a mess. The toothpick must’ve punctured the packet. Overall, this is a fantastic product and far outperforms the Plink cleaner brand.
A Pencil Width Trickle is Less Than You Think. This is a great product for your garbage disposal. I had trouble getting it to foam, but found out I was using too much water. Somewhere between dripping and a semi-steady stream is what you want; appears to be less than a pencil width trickle. The scent isn’t overwhelming like I guess I wanted it to be, but it certainly freshens up my old disposal when applied once every two weeks or so (as needed).
I love it. This works amazingly for deodorizing the sink disposer. Easy to use!! Simply run hot water near the drain and stick one of these bad boys in, then turn on the disposer. My favorite part about the whole process is seeing the blue foam rise up and go down the drain, gives me the feeling of accomplishment without the hard work! Will buy again when I run low!!

Did the trick. We moved into an 11 year old house that had been left vacant for part of the year and discovered the kitchen drains in the disposal/double sink smelled musty. Using vinegar and baking soda and following up with boiling water didn’t make any difference. However, this product WORKED!!! No more musty smells – although I did follow it up with a dose of baking soda, vinegar and boiling water just to be sure and plan to use this stuff weekly.

Clean Fun. I used to clean the inside of the disposer with a handiwipe cloth and soap every day. Yuck! Especially disgusting with coffee grounds. Never got completely clean.With this, just follow directions and watch the blue foam come up. Sometimes it doesn’t come all the way up, so I use another packet and the foam comes all the way up. Then I know the disposer is clean, and it smells great!

So Clean and Fresh. When using this, my sink smells soooo much better and is definitely cleaner. It definitely is a good value for the money, and so easy to use. No scrubbing your disposer after.
Great product. I get these shipped every 3 months because I use them religiously. Every week my food disposal gets treated. Throw the pod inside the drain, have a little bit of water and turn it on. The satisfying blue foam comes up both sides of the sink. I leave mine for about 30 minutes and rinse with some water. Drain doesn’t smell and never had those sewer flies. Must have for every food disposal.
