An easy way to make your own healthy dried fruit without any preservatives. I love dried fruit, but the unsulfured, unsweetened varieties are difficult to find and expensive, so I decided I would dry my own. This is reasonably priced, has a large capacity (5 stainless steel trays), and has a temperature dial, so I bought it. The first use led me to realize that fruit had to be sliced thin and dried off with a paper towel first, or it would take forever. The second time, I ended up with lovely dried, sliced peaches. My only complaint is that some of the slices stuck to the grid, making it a pain to clean. All in all, I recommend this highly.
It works. Works great for what I use it for, took a little fine tuning, the only complaint is I don’t have as much control over temp as I wish I would have.
5 tray model: poor temperature control – slow to dehydrate tomatoes. It is summer (harvest season) here in USDA hardiness zone 7b. It is hot and humid here. I tried dehydrating tomatoes and oregano.Dehydrating takes far longer and requires a higher temperature setting than advertised. If you live in a desert, you might get totally different results. I ended up using the highest temperature setting. That worked well for oregano but took a very long time for cherry tomato halves.The result was good.The temperature control on the 5 tray dehydrator is not really control. I tested it with a type K thermocouple, which is an extremely precise and fast thermometer.If you set the dehydrator to 45-55 C, it will quickly heat up to 57 C. Then it slowly cools to 43 C. This cycle repeats. In a few minutes, you can expect the temperature to change a lot. The product description says “adjustable temperature” but based on my tests that’s not really true.I recommend using it in a garage so it’s not fighting your air conditioning.
Alarm/button sounds are loud. Really like the dehydrator. Works well and is spacious. HOWEVER, the button sounds and the alarm that goes off when the timer runs out are obnoxiously loud and unnecessary.
I love it but the plastic breaks. I love this little thing but the plastic trays break after a few hand washes. I’ve never put them in the dishwasher and they cracked in the middle on the sides. Other than that I am happy
Good dehydrator for price. I have primarily used this to dry homemade pasta. It works great for that. On the middle area of heating pasta is dry in about 2 hours. I have also used it for herbs. I put sage and basil in it overnight on the recommended herb setting. The sage was done in the morning. The ball took another 6 hours. I like that it compacts. It’s not as good as some of the more expensive models but works better than the old round ones people had in the 90s.

I have dried varieties of home grown herbs such as basil, thyme, Greek oregano ,rosemary and have more than filled my jars . This was also excellent for button mushrooms. I purchased when they were on sale and dried them. Great for soups and gravy’s. This machine was very quiet and temp control was good. I think it was a good value and a a space saver if you’re looking for one with a smaller foot print.

Nice unit. Nice size for my garden produce and storage. Easy to clean. Different temp settings for fruit herbs, etc. Unit works well unlike the dryer I bought previously, which made the fruit taste of plastic even after cleaning and running according to directions multiple times.
Sturdy. Perfect for beginners. We did virtual cooking classes during pandemic. Dor dropping this unit to our clients was well received. Easy to use

My dog is very happy! So are the kids. I got this mainly to make jerky for my dog as the store bought stuff has loads of extras in, and it’s expensive.I’m not sure I’m saving $$ everyone loves the jerky. Steak, Pork, chicken, all disappears very quickly. I used to marinade for the humans, but then I stopped encouraging them!Good buy, easy clean, easy use and not huge.
Works Well Enough. This dehydrator is pretty neat. I got mine last month, and so far its been working well. It can reach temperatures from 95F to 158F which seems like a good range for most things you’d want to dehydrate. The stainless steel trays are nice too, easy to clean and all that (though i did bend one of them trying to fit it in the dishwasher – my bad). I tried making some beef jerky with it last week and it turned out great! I also like how it has a fan for even heat distribution; helps keep things from getting burnt. The only thing I don’t love is that sometimes the air flow can be a bit noisy, but its not too bad.Overall, this food dehydrator does what you need it to do. It’s easy to use and makes good quality dehydrated food. My one complaint is just the noise level, which can get annoying after a while. But hey, at least I don’t have to worry about burning my jerky anymore (which happened more than once with my old oven). If you need a solid dehydrator for your kitchen, this one should do the trick. Just be prepared for some occasional fan noise. Oh, and watch out for those bent trays in the dishwasher, haha.
The price tag is not too good to be true; this thing rocks. Bought this to dry up my herbs for teas. It works great and doesn’t really have excessive noise. It is quieter than a coffee machine. If you are someone like me who doesn’t really care to read instruction manuals, this device is easy to figure out with the buttons on the machine, however I would encourage you to review the pamphlets because it has helpful guides on how long you should dehydrate certain foods! From my googling, it seems like this machine has a broad temperature range despite the price tag. I am not a natural chef or big fan of reading full instruction manuals, but I looked up their instructions for herbs when doing my dandelions and they turned out perfect and still had their color.I attached a video to this review that demonstrates the noise level with your phone smushed right against it. If you are standing a few feet away or a room away, it is near nonexistent.

Cheap and reliable. Awesome lil unit, works well for basically anything I want to dry up. I’ve used this for mushrooms, fruits, jerky, you name it. Set up is about as simple as can be, and it dries things up real well. I’ve had no issues with it in the past two years I’ve been using it, if you want an inexpensive dehydrator, this is the one you should go for.
