The device is fine but — WARNING — the included manual contains erroneous information. First, this review addresses important misleading information in the product manual that was packed with the product and, second, provides some initial comments on the Dremel tool itself. The images that were posted with this review show what is discussed below (photos of the device and pages from the referenced Dremel manuals and documents). This Dremel 7760 model uses a ‘pet grooming attachment’ to create a safety zone between the sanding/grinding disc and the upper part of the animal’s nails (where the nerve-laden quick could be hurt). As part of the nail grinder attachment, a nose piece goes around the head of the Dremel tool (surrounding the tool’s output shaft). The kit includes a clear plastic cup-like device that then snaps onto that nose piece and creates a gap between the grinding disc and the flat surface on the outside of the cup, where the dog’s toe pad will rest. If that gap is too small, the grinding disc could easily reach the quick; if it is too large, only the very tip of a nail can touch the grinding disc. The nose piece has a branching indented path for the knobs that protrude inside the plastic cup — see illustrations — and has 3 different positions to accomplish ‘depth adjustment’. It is very important to position the gap-creating cup in the correct position. The product manual packed with the Dremel 7760 calls for the wrong setting. On p. 16 of that manual, it calls for ‘Position 3’ (see illustrations posted with these comments). On a Dremel 7760, if ‘Position 3’ is used, the cup cannot be installed, and its underside hits the sanding wheel well before Position 3 is reached. The same page of this manual refers the reader to Dremel guide AT01-PGA for more detail on using the pet grooming attachment. That manual, available online, does not include the Dremel 7760 among its listed models (p. 11 — see illustration included with pictures). The correct position for the Dremel 7760 is ‘Position 2’. This creates a gap of about 1/4″ (to protect the quick) and is the setting described in the ‘Quick Reference’ guide (in very, very small print) that was packed with the tool. The generally useful suggestion that a person should always read the product / user’s manual for a new device is dangerous here — the product manual has incorrect information. The information in the ‘Quick Guide’ is different, and accurate.About the tool:We were stimulated to buy this because of the most recent price increase for dog nail trimming at the only groomer located nearby. From $12 per trimming a mere 8 years ago, the price of this 10-minute task has now risen (in steps of $2 and $3) to $27 (plus tax, and a tip is expected). This review is from someone who has been using an ‘antique’ Dremel ‘moto-tool’ (AC powered) with a wide range of accessories for around 25 years on fine and detailed projects (and it still works). This new unit is very solid (that’s to be expected from Dremel) with enhanced mobility and utility because — as it is rechargeable — the user is not tethered to a power cord or socket. For the intended use, it is very helpful that this tool is also very quiet on the ‘1’ power-level setting (the lowest speed, and the speed recommended for pet nails). The tool is easy to grip, solid but not too heavy, and appears to use good battery technology (presumably an 18650 Lithium Ion battery). We have just begun the accustomization process with our dog — we start the grinder, lay it on a table, the floor, or across a knee, and put a very small piece of dog treat next to the new, strange, ‘noisy’ object. After experiencing this about a dozen times, our dog now comes towards the new sound and plucks up the treat without hesitation. We will move on to other accustomization steps before actually using this on his nails (the product manual has a good section on this, p. 17), and this review will be updated once we have done so.(A card included with the product offers a replacement pack of the special sanding disks (apparently a pack of 10, for which the current Amazon price is a hefty $3.25) if a review includes this statement: ‘I am receiving a free accessory pack from Dremel in exchange for my honest review.’ OK — here’s that statement, and this review is honest, although it does not fully describe just how long it took to navigate through all the Dremel online manuals to search for the correct depth adjustment information.)
This is awesome works on a professional level. This is great. I bought one before this just one of those mail trimmers with the diamond grinder it was a joke after getting this one I now see how bad the other one was. This is like a professional groomer tool. This has power and grinds the mail so fast it’s great. With my old one I had to do one nail forever this takes seconds and your done. So much better quality this is a solid tool with a little weight to it witch is good. It’s wireless and rechargeable but that doesn’t effect the strength and speed because it works super good. I absolutely love it and wish it was my first buy. Now I tell people about it so they don’t make the same mistake. It works really well and grinds the nails super quick ( please remember when cutting your dogs nails that these heat up and the heat goes to the nail so please if your doing your dogs nails please remember to grind for a second and then take a break so it doesn’t heat up and hurt or burn them witch makes them pull away. You could stop for a min or goto the next nail and then go back to it cause it gets hot in seconds).I definitely recommend this dremel for anyone. I don’t always do my dogs nails I take him to the groomer because I don’t feel safe getting down low on the nail but grinder makes it so much easier for me to keep them shorter in between the groomer since they grow fast. This grinder grinds the mail right back down so fast and I feel much safer to grains gradually instead of cutting. This was definitely a great purchase. Also if you have a dog that doesn’t like there nails done the one and two speed is pretty quiet and it’s so quick that you can get it done quicker and less stress in your pup. It comes with a few disks and pieces to get you started so you can see what works best for you. The sanding disks hold up or last pretty good to.All around great tool

Mi perrita ya se deja limar las uñas sin problema. Fue una muy buena inversión.
This works on old, brittle nails. I have had the pedipaws and a cheap rotary nail grinder, but they barely filed my dogs nails. She is over 14 now, and clipping her nails is HARD…as in her nails are so hard they just crumble and she gets mad. I debated between this Dremel version and lower cost model – and I am glad I got this model. Using the disc with the guard at the top is the easiest method I have ever used to trim my dogs nails. It’s FAST and grinds down my pups nails quickly on the 3/4 speed. The tool makes it easy to ensure I don’t mess up either and accidently grind her fur. She doesn’t love it, but definitely tolerates it better than any nail cutter I have tried over the past year.I would definitely recommend this, if your dog isn’t comfortable at first – they give some tricks like letting them see it, turning it on, and giving a treat. It might take some time, but if you had trouble with cutting quicks and hurting your dog with clippers – this is worth the investment.
Pampering Paws: The Gentle Path to Pet Grooming with Dremel. Pet grooming – an endeavor that’s often met with apprehension by both pets and their human companions. Memories of my furry friend’s anxious stares and jittery paws always made me reluctant to even approach nail trimming. That’s when the Dremel PawControl Dog Nail Grinder and Trimmer came into our lives, reshaping our grooming experiences. The unboxing was promising. The device’s design seemed thoughtful and ergonomic, fitting comfortably in my hand. Its cordless nature meant there were no pesky wires to get in the way, and the rechargeable feature assured me of its longevity. But the real test lay ahead. With some trepidation, I approached my canine companion, Dremel in hand. To my surprise, the device’s quiet operation didn’t ruffle his usual calm demeanor. The absence of the loud buzzing noise, so characteristic of other trimmers, was indeed a relief. The grinder’s gentle rotation ensured that the nail trimming process was not only effective but also painless. The adjustable speed settings allowed me the flexibility to approach more challenging nails with precision. And for those uncertain moments, the safety guard was a godsend, ensuring I never went too far.One of the standout features was the battery life. Multiple grooming sessions later, the Dremel PawControl still held its charge, making it perfect for those impromptu grooming decisions or even travel. That said, like all tools, there was a learning curve. Initial attempts required patience and a steady hand. But with time, both my pet and I grew more confident, turning grooming sessions into bonding moments. In conclusion, the Dremel PawControl Dog Nail Grinder and Trimmer is not just a grooming tool; it’s peace of mind in a sleek design. It stands as a testament to Dremel’s commitment to delivering a humane, safe, and efficient grooming solution for our beloved pets. Whether you’re a novice pet owner or a seasoned pet grooming professional, this device promises a gentle and effective approach to paw care. Here’s to happier pets and even happier pet parents!
Almost Worked for our Dogs. We have two dogs that are resistant to nail trimmings. Appears somewhere along the way a groomer got too close to the quick and the dogs don’t forget. Picked this up and one dog is resistant but okay with it after a few seconds and lots of peanut butter. Our older one is really shy and acts like she’s being tortured. Have a new groomer that suggested we engage her with it more often and at small depth. And that’s the nice thing about this trimmer is the depth and speed can be adjusted to minimize perceived trauma. It’s just going to take consistent repetitive use to acclimate the dogs to it. Haven’t given up yet, still working it.
Pawsitively Easy and Safe Nail Trimming. The Dremel PawControl Dog Nail Grinder and Trimmer has been a game-changer for my pet care routine. This tool offers a safe and humane way to keep my dog’s nails trimmed, avoiding the discomfort and stress often associated with traditional clippers. The grinder is designed to gently file down the nails, reducing the risk of cutting too close to the quick. The device is user-friendly, with adjustable speed settings that allow me to customize the grinding to my dog’s comfort level. It’s also relatively quiet, which is a big plus for my noise-sensitive pup. The ergonomic design makes it easy to hold and maneuver, ensuring a smooth nail-trimming experience. However, it’s important to note that some dogs may need time to get used to the sensation of grinding. Patience and gradual introduction are key. Also, while the grinder is effective, it might take longer than clipping, especially for dogs with thicker nails.Overall, the Dremel PawControl Dog Nail Grinder and Trimmer is a fantastic investment for pet owners looking for a stress-free way to maintain their dog’s nail health. And for a dad joke: Why do dogs dislike computers? They can’t press the “paws” button!

Best dog trimmer out there. I have a few dogs and many tools. This by far is the best. Its super quiet, has a overpowered motor, came with many attachments for any issue. Easy to use and works great. Heavy duty and gets the job done quick. To good if your not careful but it does come with 3 size of nail gaurds. Would recommend.

This grinder is the best. I’m sooo glad I got this grinder! It is so amazing!! Works at numerous different speeds/ levels.. and it also works so quietly.. so it will not scare the dogs or make them anxious at all .. charges up Betty quickly, as well.. 10/10- definitely recommend this grinder to everybody .. i use it at work, as a dog groomer. But I also use it to at home, with my own 2 dogs, as well!! I will never get another brand/ model, other than this one now that I’ve tried this one. I have been thru quite a few dif grinders. And this one, by far- is the absolute best so far!! Absolutely love this grinder!!
Works great. I’m always terrified that I’ll cut the quick on my dogs’ nails, so I decided to try this. It’s easy to use once you get used to it. The motor isn’t very loud – neither of my dogs was bothered by it. I did find that if you press too hard the friction heats up the nail. It didn’t seem to bother the dogs, but I would just move to a different nail and go back a few seconds later. My one dog has white nails, so the quick is visible. For him I use the clippers and then round the tips with the Dremel. It works great!
GAME CHANGER. This is the greatest thing I’ve bought for my dogs in a while. We have three dogs, one that is okay with nail trims and two that HATE THEM. We used to take them to the groomers, but always got comments about how they can be snippy (even when communicated prior). We used regular clippers for a while, but saw this on Amazon and bought it immediately. It makes nail trims so quick and easy. The dog that’s okay with nail trims we can zip through the nails within 5 mins. We were able to get all three dogs’ nails done within 20 minutes on our first try.I wouldn’t describe the noise level as silent or super quiet but it’s a light humming and it didn’t scare any of them. The tool itself is SO easy to manipulate and maneuver to make it easy for you. It’s so lightweight and easy to switch the different speeds quickly with one hand. I didn’t like the sanding disc with the plastic clear guard. That was super difficult to work with in my opinion, but the other round sandpaper attachment works AMAZING. It takes off little bits at a time, but if you apply a little pressure you can zip through them in no time once you get the hang of it.I recommend this to every pet owner.
Best Dremel Ever. This dremel is super heavy duty and quiet. Easy to use. Need to watch a video to change out the sanders but overall will never use anything else on my dogs!
