Does what it’s supposed to….increases CYA and makes my chlorine last longer. Good price and does what I need it to do. Despite the instructions, DO NOT ADD THIS PRODUCT TO YOUR SKIMMER BASKET! And definitely do not pour it straight into the water. These are larger granules and take longer to dissolve than other pool chemicals. Put it in a sock, tie it with a string (make sure it is strong enough), tie it to something so it dangles right in front of the jet return where the water comes out and squeeze the sock occasionally. This took me about an hour but may take longer depending on the amount and frequency of squeezing, LOL. Yes, it sounds weird, but it works. Google “cya sock method” for more info.I needed to increase my CYA from 30 to 40 ONCE AGAIN due to all of the rain, splash out from swimming, and adding hose water every other day due to evaporation and some slow leaks. This stuff does exactly what I needed it to do, and that was raise my CYA level. Now my pool holds my liquid chlorine (which does not contain any stabilizer, unlike chlorine pucks) and makes it last much longer so I’m not going through 4 gallons of regular bleach every week!I recommend this product! Just make sure you have a reliable testing kit to check your CYA levels and I do not recommend using this product if you are using chlorine tablets (trichlor) or other forms of stabilized chlorine (dichlor aka “shock”) which already contain stabilizer in them and will cause your CYA to get too high, which causes BIG problems – but that is a discussion for another day! It does dissolve fast…in a sock. It does dissolve fast….i have an 8400 gallon above ground pool. I added the stabilizer into a long sock and held it near the jet that shoots out into the pool. It took a minute to start dissolving. It went quicker by smushing it around in the sock and it took approximately about 20 minutes to get all 2 lbs of it dissolved. Once it is smushy in the sock, you can take it around the pool and squeeze it to distribute it all around. Saw it in a youtube video. Not much to it….but if you just pour it right into the pool, yeah that will take days for it to dissolve. Oh use gloves while doing the sock method. Hope this helps.
Granulated Cynauric Acid. Our pool was using a ton of chlorine. Foolish me didn’t realize how quickly it dissappears without a stabilizing agent. Added the appropriate amount and chlorine has been lasting much longer.Get you a good test strip kit. Do some basic research on pool chemicals and balance. Understand what each component does and why it’s needed. Use an online calculator to get you the right ratios for your size pool. After doing that, you should have a relatively clear pool. Also, stop peeing in the pool.

Helps with chlorine stability. I’m on a salt cell generator so I need to manually raise by CYA levels. This has been a staple in our pool house to keep the Texas sun from destroying the chlorine. Like all CYA I wish it dissolved easier, but with the sock method, I can get it in the pool.
Good product, but use with caution. This is a good product, but be careful when using it, and only add a limited amount at a time. If you’re conducting a CYA test and the result is less than 10, don’t assume you’re at 0. Try adding 10 PPM at a time. It’s much easier to do this and stay safe than it is to exceed the limit and be forced to drain your pool. If you’re using chlorine pucks, be aware that these pucks also add CYA to your pool. If you notice your CYA levels rising too quickly, stop using pucks and granular shock, and start using highly concentrated chlorine bleach as an alternative, which is sometimes branded as liquid pool shock. Bleach is alkaline, which will cause your pH to start rising, but lowering your pH is a much easier task than lowering your CYA, which, again, requires draining your pool proportionally.

Its a decent product. Works well for my pool. Easy to use, just follow the instructions on the bag. Keeps my chlorine working well and helps it last longer. Good for painting my pool. I would recommend it.
Worth the cost and works as intended. I have a 36,000 gallon pool and need about 8-10lbs of stabilizer a year. I used to buy it from my local pool store because I like to give them the business so they stay in business. Finally though, decided to buy it online because it’s about half the cost.The only complaint I have is that it takes so long to dissolve (seems to be all brands). What I do is put about 3 lbs in a knee high stocking, tie the end and hang it in front of a return jet. After about 3 hours, it softens up and you can squeeze the stocking (keeping it in front of the jet) and it readily dissolves.
Quality & Cost. Swimming Pool Chlorine Stabilizer package size makes good ease of use there was no leakage. Price is fair but would be better if cost was a little less, even a coupon would help.
Does the job. The only thing I don’t like about this product is it takes forever to dissolve and you’re not just supposed to let it sit there. So you have to move it around for about 20 minutes before it dissolves. I don’t know if there’s any alternative. When it needs to be done, you do it.
