Happily skipping podcast commercials while in the shower. I don’t usually review products, but I decided to this time because no product of this type addressed my specific questions. Buying Chubby Buttons was a gamble that paid off.I’m using the product with an iPone XS Max running IOS 12.1.3 (and then upgraded to 12.1.4). My intended purpose was skip commercials while listening to podcasts in Apples podcast app while in the shower. Yes, I’m talking about skipping forward 30 seconds, and back 15 seconds within a podcast, not skipping to the next podcast (or track in music terms).First off, while doing research, I discovered that Apple provides a setting in the podcast app (Settings->Podcasts) to specify how external controls are to work. The options are Next/Previous or Skip Forward/Back. I switched the setting to Skip Forward/Back, and my car steering wheel controls began behaving the way I wanted. This gave me reason to believe that the Chubby Buttons would follow suit, and it did.I followed the directions, and the product paired instantly, and worked perfectly. I pealed the plastic film from the back, and stuck it to my shower wall (fiber glass with smooth finish). it’s solidly mounted, and not going anywhere. I’ve used it for several days with wet, and sometimes soapy fingers, and it gets reasonable splash spray (like a light rain). No problems at all so far. One press of any button wakes the product, and it pairs instantly (less than one second). Each subsequent button press gives instant results. No delay at all. They claim the product sleeps after 60 minutes of inactivity. I’ve gone as long as about 25 minutes and it hasn’t slept, so no need to constantly double press (once to wake/pair, and again to do what you intended) to accomplish a skip/pause/play. Other competing products would sleep after 5 minutes, and irritated many reviewers of those products. I would agree. I never have to wonder if it’s asleep and need to double press. I just press the buttons as needed, and it just works!Another thing to note. Other devices claim to connect as a HID device, and disable the on screen keyboard while paired. Essentially, while paired, you can’t send a text, navigate to a location, do a google search, or anything else requiring keyboard input. Not so with this product. All functionality of the phone works as normal (on screen keyboard included) while paired. And yes, for those wondering, I’m paired to multiple devices, including a bluetooth speaker while using the buttons. The product controls the phone functions. The fact that I’m outputting the sound to a bluetooth speaker, a wired headset, or air playing to a device is irrelevant.Excellent product, solid build, nicely implemented, very responsive, and no annoying or compromising sleep/keyboard issues. Well worth the cost, and I highly recommend it.

This thing ROCKS. This winter I built the first ever (to my knowledge) tower system on a PWC as featured in Watercraft Journal . I used some of the biggest names in marine audio, Wetsounds, Kicker, Bazooka …. and because I also snow ski I happened upon Chubby Buttons when it was brand new and incorporated it into our ride.I have been using it for months now. We tried it at first using the velcro armband around the bars and it worked so well I made a bracket to mount it as a semi permanent piece of a killer sound system It does exactly what I had hoped it would, in that it keeps us from fumbling with our phones as much as we would have to otherwise. That’s a big bonus on a waverunner. We can cue music up for a wake board/skate/water ski ride and once the cruise control is set to the riders’s liking hit play and WHAM BAM TY M’AM this thing ROCKS!!!Turning the tunes up or down on the fly is easy as pie and we haven’t had a single problem with it getting splashed in our normal use as a tow and recreational jet ski. Stuff gets splashedon a ski and Chubby Buttons seems to be up to the task as well as my high dollar marine goodies that are made to get wet.It pairs to my Samsung S7 Edge or the ipad mini we use to control the music system on the ski. It works flawlessly and even has a stepped volume control as well as what appears to be a quick quiet feature if you double tap the volume minus control. We have sat on the beach and controlled the music on the ski, at 50 feet of rope, your results may vary, but I can’t say enough good things about this little device. We used a Wetsounds Bluetooth control knob in the glovebox that does all the same functions as the Chubby Buttons does and is also the Bluetooth receiver for my system. Since we got Chubby Buttons we only use the control knob to turn the system on. There is no need to open the glovebox to perform basic functions once we have our music cued up. We do it all on Chubby Buttons!!! We can event do it at cruising speed with our free hand!!!!The Waverunner has been to Havasu, Lake Mead, and Parker a few times over already this year and has been a huge hit with everyone we meet as well as performing it’s towing function flawlessly. We’ve ridden behind it a bunch of times and Chubby Buttons helps the driver pay more attention to the the task of towing. I can’t even imagine how it would be without Chubby Buttons….UPDATE 11 -2020 Still going strong. The ski went upside down in the water once last season and Chubby Buttons is still working fine after being fully submerged for a few minutes. The battery finally went dead this year. When it did we had to go without CB for a day and it sucked!!!! We’ve put 150 hours on the ski since it was installed. It’s been in 120 degree weather in the sun. It has been fully submerged under water and it still works great!!!! Just buy one already!!!
Speaking from experience, this one works, even in the cold while snowmobiling. I had one of those little round ones before. It worked for a while but was difficult to use with a gloved hand and stopped working in the cold despite putting in a new battery. So far, this one works well and easy to use with gloves on. Two small gripes. It can be finicky to wake up to make it do something. If you don’t use a while, it goes to sleep and the first press is actually to wake it up and reconnect with your phone, then you do a second press and it will do the command twice. So if you push pause, it will stop and start again. Second gripe is its price. For what it is and compared to the price of those other ones, it’s expensive. I almost didn’t buy it because of the comparatively high cost. However I don’t regret buying it because it works so well. You’ll have to decide for yourself if the price is justified for you.

Love this device, but on my third one now. This product is great! Easy to see at a glance, very responsive, and easy to pair. It stays connected flawlessly!Chubby Buttons the company is absolutely top notch!!! They sent me a new unit after the first one just stopped working after a VERY small splash of water, not anything that should have caused an issue, customer service is fantastic in my experience.Now the tuff love… like I said in he title, on the 3rd one now. I really wish there was a way to make it a little more waterproof as i use it on my boat. I really love the versatility and the range. I have a very loud stereo system on my boat and when we are at the sandbar I love being able to control the music from almost any where. But if you drop it in the water (it floats btw) or it gets splashed by a wave, even if for very brief moment keep your fingers crossed that it will dry out and come back. I have learned (remember 3rd one lol) that if you take out the battery right away and let it dry that will help increase your chances! That is the only reason for only 4stars. I will be purchasing another one because I really love it that much but you gotta take the good with the bad… so for me # 4 it is.

It allows me to keep my phone securely tucked away in my pocket, while still granting me effortless control over volume adjustments, song changes, or even just pulsating the music to match the rhythm of my work.One aspect that particularly impressed me was how seamlessly the Chubby Buttons 2 maintains its connection to my phone without the need for constant toggling on and off. It provides a consistently reliable link that keeps me in perfect sync with my audio world. Yet, in the spirit of improvement and innovation, I do have a few suggestions for a potential future iteration, a V3 if you will.Firstly, a dedicated 15-second back-and-forth button would be a welcomed addition. While the skip and rewind buttons do offer the functionality of scrubbing or seeking when held, I have encountered varying degrees of compatibility with different apps. Some apps respond favorably, while others prove less cooperative. Streamlining this aspect would greatly enhance the user experience.Furthermore, it would be remiss of me not to mention the matter of pricing. In my personal assessment, I find the Chubby Buttons to be regrettably overpriced. The current price point, in my humble opinion, exceeds the perceived value for what essentially amounts to a remote control. Adjusting the pricing to a more reasonable level would undoubtedly broaden its appeal and make it a more accessible choice for a wider range of consumers.Overall, despite these minor observations, I must reiterate my genuine admiration for the Chubby Buttons 2. Great device. This device is the real deal I didn’t realize how much of a game changer it is it makes the controlling of my devices very easy and now I’m not interested in being without it.I had a miniscule problem with mine I notified the company and before I could print a return label they had my replacement in route now that’s top notch service and I know now I will be ordering MANY more Christmas is right around the corner.Just know that you don’t want a Chubby you NEED a Chubby and don’t be selfish get them for your friends and family as well.
Excellent customer service. I used this on a motorcycle trip. My problem was that it frequent list bluetooth pairing with my phone. I kept having to re-pair it which was a pain. However, I think I just had a lemon because I contacted Justin with the company, and he refunded me fully plus is giving me a new device to try. I trust my new one will work great! Plus when it rained I had no issues with it breaking, as I have read some people did. It is definitely water resistant! I love the big buttons that are easy to press when wearing gloves.
Simple yet Awesome. Very simple device that does exactly what it’s supposed to do. I use it to control my phone while riding my bicycle and motorcycle. Don’t know why I wanted so long to buy
Remember How Great Sliced Bread was? This is Better. What a great product. I found this remote to be incredible useful for several of reasons.1) As a senior, seeing and (especially) pressing the correct button the first time is so very helpful. (You know, how it goes. That’s not pause, it’s volume up. Dang it!)2) I work from home and often need to quickly pause my LOUD music. [My LOUD music has nothing to do with being a senior. It’s because the best way to listen to Rock is LOUD!]3) The sticky base helps this super-functional remote stay put. It’s hard to misplace when it doesn’t move about the desk.This company provides not one, but two batteries. Heck, some other products don’t include a single battery.They are proud of this product and package it as such. It arrived in a high quality protective product package. Others I tried have arrived in cheap plastic bags with no instructions or protection.Pairing with my Android Samsung Galaxy A8 Tablet was painless and fast. Read the directions to understand which set up buttons to press. Bang. Paired. Working!This is good stuff! I’m not out on adventures so I can’t say much about that part. But, life in my home office can be quite the adventure too. Works swell in the ‘great indoors.’ I am completed satisfied with this purchase. I think you will be too.
Wow. Finally found an option for use with A53 Galaxy phone so that I can use entire screen to stay on map mode when needed while still changing music in the background. Previously I would have to have the small map window in front of the music player and this made it more difficult to see the map/directions.Even when not using the map; I much prefer these buttons that I can change without having to look at the screen or guess where to press for the buttons that are displaying. These are large and the symbols are 3D so that they can easily be found without looking.Was super easy to connect; instruction card shows what buttons to hold and then release to open pairing mode. Phone connected and worked immediately. Volume; play/pause; and skip track forward/back. Plus the back button first restarts the song before clicking a second time to skip to previous track.Rating is less than 5* because of the price; seems a bit high for a small remote when others are more in the 20/30-dollar range. I chose this one though because it looked most promising for being able to work with my device since it’s not the newest phone.
Love this. I bought these in February and I have been loving them ever since. They work great, especially when wearing gloves. Has a good range and good battery life. The strap has signs of wear, but no ripping or tearing, and some of the color on the buttons is worn off, but I am also using them everyday in a warehouse wear I am lifting and working with my hands a lot.
I have hearing aids paired to my cell phone which I use to listen to music while out on walks. The phone being in my pocket can be awkward to access the music app to start/stop, change volume or skip a track.So I searched Amazon for a remote device that I could readily carry or access. An outstanding feature is large buttons easily accessible.for Play/Pause, Volume Up/down and skip ahead or back.Boy, I picked a winner on first try.I referred the device to the Hearing aid center where got mine as a device others might want.
