  1. Love it! But be careful for backseat roamers/multiple doggies. I love this product, though here’s a bit of a warning for those with multiple dogs/dogs that move around a lot: if you have dogs that move around a lot (or if you have multiple dogs in the back seat), the dogs can get wrapped/caught up in the straps. This can be uncomfortably/dangerous depending on how caught up the dogs get in it.My dogs don’t move all too much when they’re in their seats, but there was a time where one dog moved to the opposite side of the seat to bother another dog and their straps got crossed. One dog’s leg was caught on the strap and luckily I noticed this in my rear view mirror. I managed to pull into a gas station, untangled the dogs, and went on my merry way for an hour drive back home. It’s not too big of an issue, just something to watch out for in the case of backseat roamers and multiple doggies on board.

  2. Good product. I bought these so that my dogs can’t roam around the car. We normally crate them for long trips but for trips in town that’s a hassle. I use them with a harness. It took some time to adjust the straps so that they don’t have a lot of freedom

  3. Awesome!! Very pleased. I have seatbelt harnesses but i always have to take off the seatbelt part n put on the lead. Annoying!! With this i just take it off the head rest and were ready to go!! So much better!! Great quality too. Very pleased!

  4. Use it for cat carriers. We use it to secure our cat carriers in the back seat of the car.I know it is intended for dogs, but we slip it through the cat carrier handles and secure it to the headrest in the backseat. We have a vacation home where we travel back and forth almost every weekend. We had an incident where we needed to stop abruptly, and the carriers flew off the backseat.Fortunately, our cats were not injured, but were startled (as were we!)This seems to work well to ensure short stops (if it should happen again) will keep our kitties secure.

  5. Great dog seat belt. It is easy to put on and keeps my dog from going to the front of the car and she can’t cross over it so it’s over her stomach, as she can with the buckle in one I was using before.

  6. Good for the dog who won’t sit still. Yes, my dog is riding in the front seat and not in a crate. I have an entire backseat cover and we are working on that. She is a stander, a twirler, a whiner, and a climber. She wears a collar and a harness for walking/training, as well as for car rides. I would not hook her to a seatbelt by her throat so a “tether” to her harness is what I wanted. I almost opted for one of the seatbelt clip ins but decided they would a nightmare for her given her twirling and climbing and whining. This secured to the headrest (which is always in the down position), hooks to her harness so it will not yank her by the throat in the event of a accident or me swerving to avoid something, and it extends long enough that I can adjust her range of freedom without plummeting off a seat either as she grows from a puppy to a dog. It is currently at its shortest length though, so adjusting longer is probably not happening. It seems heavy duty, same material as leashes with metal clip, but there are plastic parts that will weaken with age especially in a hot car exposed to UV. This came as a 2 pack, so I will likely just replace the current one with the spare in 6 months to be cautious.I opted for the yellowish one because it is the most visible. I think if there ever were an emergency it would be the most visible color to draw attention in my truck’s dark interior. Not my favorite color, but increasing visibility in the event the tether/seatbelt has to do its job, well, that was more important. So far it works great. Keeps her in the seat when I brake, turn, even if she twirling or trying to climb out of the seat. She doesn’t get tangled up, my seatbelt clip isn’t broken because I clipped something into it, and this device is readily visible since it attaches to the headrest. If she grows any taller I may need to find a shorter one, but otherwise this is a good length with good adjustments for dogs shorter than 18” to the shoulder. I would suggest measuring your headrest to the seat, then subtracting your dogs shoulder height to get the best length. My puppy has grown a few inches in the past month this has been used, and I have easily shortened it 4” in that time, and I cannot shorten it any further.Overall this ticks all the boxes for my requirements: adjustability, length, visibility, allows my dog to twirl without tangling herself up, doesn’t jeopardize my seatbelt clip, and seems beefy enough to do its job if it gets tested beyond me giving it several hard yanks. Fair price, 2 pack so I have a replacement at the ready, and I will do my due diligence and inspect it regularly for signs of wear or failure on any clips, rings or plastic. Very easy to quickly clip onto her harness and just as easy to unclip. Here’s to hoping it never gets tested beyond this!

  8. Keep your dog safe. This is a great product that keeps dogs safe in the car. There is a loop that slips over the headrest so it’s easy to install and remove. The strap is long enough so the dog can lay down or stick his head out the window but it keeps the dog on the seat if you have to stop fast and keeps the dog from trying to crawl into your lap while you’re driving. If you have an anxious dog, it’s helpful to have this product hold him in place until you can get a firm grip on his leash.

  9. Simple but does the job. These dog safety belts are a great and afforadable way to keep you pup safe while traveling in the car. I appreciate that it comes with 2 safety belts in case you need them for multiple vehicles and/or pets. I will say that the length of the safety belt (even at it’s shortest level) is still a bit long. As you can see in the second photo my dog is still able to stand up to look out the window – which could be a good or a bad thing depending on your preference. But for me I wish the safety belt was able to be adjusted to be even shorter in length because the way it is now I had to push the car seat back as much as possible to accomodate for the length. But overall great car safety solution! But I think long term I would explore other options.

  11. it does not work for all dogs, will take training for many. I don’t want to say anything bad about he product because it really can be handy for so many dogs. My dog is a rescue and has some pretty big anxiety issues in a car, ive tried to get him used to the car most of the summer, but to no avail. He loves going because he loves being with me, but once he realized the car is moving, things change. Anyway, he just ends up tangling himself up into this. But like I said, it really depends on the dog…it’s a very good product and can save lives, but Gizmo just is an exception. Still giving it 5 rating though because Ive had many dogs over the years it would have worked great on.

  13. Easy and effective. I purchased for other animal lovers as gifts, the dogs love being more secured and people love the easiness of installment.

  15. Keeps dogs out of the drivers seat. Works great to keep little dogs from running all over the car and connects easily to the seats. It’s lighter and long enough to allow for free movement without being min the way. It does have a little give or stretchiness but is build sturdy so it won’t break or get chewed up. I’d recommend for someone with small dogs that don’t want to spend a bunch and save money on a good product.
