It’s PERFECT. Only just tried this for the first time yesterday, but LOVE it! Or should I say, my dog LOVES it. My dog will happily get in the car, assuming she’s headed for a fun time at the park. But after 20-30 minutes, she’s whimpering – the dog version of a little kid’s “Are we there yet?” whine. She wants to be in my lap the entire time, so she can see out the window. Yesterday we drove 40 minutes each way and she was content in her chair. A couple of times, she wanted to venture over into my lap, but after the first time she did so, she decided it was more comfy in her chair. It lifts her up so she can see out the window. It keeps her from sliding all over on the leather car seats. The lining of this seat is soft and warm; she fell asleep on the drive home and didn’t want to get out of the seat. She let me get out and carry things into the house and didn’t move! It’s too early to judge how sturdy it is, but even if I have to buy a new one every year, it’s worth it.PROS:- Super comfy.- Keeps dog from sliding about or falling off the car seat during stops/starts/turns.- Handy pockets on the sides of the seat.- Easy to put together, easy to install in the car.- VALUE – well worth the price.- The sides of the seat not only keep the dog safe in place, but provide head rests.- Easy for the dog to get in and out of the seat because the sides are soft and not excessively high.CONS:- None that I’ve discovered so far.Saw a wise warning in another review about NOT attaching the lead in the seat to a dog’s collar. To use the lead, the dog should be wearing a harness. In a sudden stop, you don’t want the animal to be strangled!!

Great Car Seat for Dog Doubles as a Bed. I love the sturdiness of the car seat and the ease with which I was able to assemble it and install it in my car. My only recommendation would be that the attached lead be adjustable to use more easily with different size and age dogs. My puppy has too much lead and can stand, walk around, and try to get out of the seat while the car is in motion. In time, it will work well for her.

Very comfortable dog car seat. This dog car seat is very comfortable for our dog. The set-up instructions that came with it could have been clearer, but we figured it out and it wasn’t difficult to assemble. It won’t strap on to a bench seat or double seatback, it has to be a single seatback. The interior is very soft and the sides are high enough to protect the dog and still be possible for him to see over.The only negative is that it sits too low for our small dog to see out the window. We should have realized this before ordering it. We had to put a box under it to raise it up, which works fine but probably isn’t as safe in a sudden stop. Had we thought of this, we would have purchased a seat that is made to install higher on the seatback.

Perfect. My little guy, Max is incredibly active. Tough to get him to relax, much less sleep. I got both with this item. We’re at the point now where if he sees me move towards the car keys, he gets excited. A 20 minute drive to and from the boardwalk, out like a light. Loves the product and Dad is grateful!

cozy and practical. this seat is really handy. my dog is abt 12 lbs, and loves snuggling into soft spaces, so she loved this. she also has a more structured bucket booster car seat that is great for other reasons, but it’s not nearly as soft and cozy. more detail below (for those who want it). photos added to show color and size relative to a small dog.disclaimer/context for my comments – i use this in the front passenger seat of my car, and have never used it in the back seat. i’ve only had this during the fall/winter so far, so warm weather isn’t an issuepros:- one hundred percent more relaxing for my dog than riding on anything that’s not secured- leash/tether works perfectly to secure in her harness and the length adjusts easily- goes in the wash machine!- easy to take in and out of the car- takes up less space if it needs to move out of the way (i can jam it in front of the feet of someone in the passenger seat in a pinch, which i definitely can’t do with the bucket seat)- travels well- works perfectly as a dog bed outside the car, so pretty much dual-purpose- i like the colors a lot (i have the blue/whitish version, which is definitely more navy than bright blue)- the pockets on the side were useful for me. i’m constantly dropping credit cards, keys, and pretty much every small thing between the console and the side of my seat. when the dog car seat is next to me, i toss this stuff in the pocket sometimes and have saved myself fishing expeditions later 🙂. the outside pocket is great for leash, bags, etc- SUPER secure and doesn’t move when it’s locked in with the straps- fits in any seat, as it doesn’t need to lie completely flat all the way across to work well (again, unlike the structured, bucket/booster seats)- did i mention cozy?cons:- i don’t love the look of the straps across the seat – for aesthetic reasons and because i am weird abt leaving indents in my seats (even temporarily), i prefer using a seatbelt to secure a dog car seat/bed. overall, this definitely shouldn’t deter a buyer who is interested.the dog loves this!

Product was exactly as described. Dog loved it. 11.5 lb dog rests comfortably and securely. Great for long car trips. Easy to set up and strap to car seat.

Great for small dogs. I bought this car seat last summer for my 14 lb. dog. As soon as it was put together in the house she ran over and decided it was another dog bed. She used it exclusively for two days. In the car, I love that she has more space than in her old car seat. It also fits the seat in my car better. My dog doesn’t like car rides that are longer than 20 minutes so it’s nice that the soft sides are high enough to keep her safe but low enough that I can reach over and pet her to calm her down when necessary. I also love the large storage pockets and that it’s washable (although the manufacturer’s instructions don’t say what temperature/cycle to wash it on). My only complaints are that 1) it takes up a lot of room when not in use and 2) unlike her old car seat this one isn’t high enough for her to see out the windows (which is something that helps calm her down on car rides). All in all though I do like it better than the old one. I hope this one lasts longer (her last one, a different brand, only lasted about 2 years before the tether broke).

Excellent Dog Car Seat. My dogs are about 18-20 lbs & these are fantastic to keep them safe AND comfortable. Hooks into our cars easily too.
