Fantastic alternative to the old way of picking up doggie nuggets. There are some things in life that you set out to do, those life goals like get a job, be successful, have a family, etc. I think it’s safe to say that nowhere near the top of that list, or middle for that matter, is “Review a pooper scooper on Amazon”. Yet, here I am finding myself doing just that very thing. How did I find myself here, well for years I have done the shovel, small garden spade method. Let me tell you with two 50+ Norwegian Elkhounds they can be poop factories – but it was what I used and never thought different. Then one day, after a particularly fragrant gift from one of my four legged friends I sought out a better way because my gag reflex just could not stomach it any longer. That, and the neighbor who came to my backyard to see what small animal was dying due to all the noise.I am not ashamed to say I researched pooper scoopers. I looked at all manner of them. From the open top rake method, to those fancy claw machine contraptions. I shouldn’t be surprised that there are so many pooper scooper options out there, but literally holy crap!I finally decided on this one for a couple reasons. The enclosed bin, with the bag is a great idea.Long enough where I don’t have to bend over at all (32 Inches)Easy to storeUpon receiving it, I quickly put it together loaded up the first bag and embarked on my maiden voyage into the dangerous backyard. Finding the first nugget I set the bin behind it and with a quick flip deposited said nugget safely into the bin/bag. No fuss, no mess, and no sounds of killing small animals. This wasn’t so bad after all. I zipped around the yard like a ninja, flipping turd after turd into the waiting bin. No longer was I trying to strategize the firmness of the deposit, or which way upwind was. I saw a landmine and tackled it with the ferocity of a jungle cat seeing it’s next meal (no I didn’t eat any turds, that was a metaphor). Finally, finding the bag full, did I mention 2 Elkhounds are a literal factory of fecal matter? I uncinched the bag straps, tied them together, and poof found myself with a full bag of poo but no mess and easy to dispose of. Arm & Hammer sells extra bags for this, or you can just use normal plastic shopping bags. The handles will be a little different and may cause some issues but it should work.Humor aside, this is a really nice pooper scooper. I would have liked to see the actual rake part a little more sturdy, but for the price I can’t complain all that much. It does make it extremely easy to pick up the mess, and dispose of it. I just wish I would have found this option sooner. No way am I going back to the “old” way.I highly recommend this product.

Works Well But Wish That It Came With A Shovel/Scoop. My dog is a dog that, no lie, REGULARLY poops AT LEAST three times a day (and again I said REGULARLY, so it’s all formed, aka NOT from something that he ate or something that is medically wrong with him.) so needless to say my backyard becomes full of “land mines” quickly, in absolutely in no time whatsoever. So much so that impedes his and I playing in the backyard because when I throw a toy for him to fetch, if it lands anywhere near one of his “land mines of poo,” he’s not touching the toy at all. He’s done with it (His highness 🙄🤦♀️😂)! I can’t tell you how many of his outdoors toys of his I currently have to wash right now. A pooper scooper was in need! This is the second pooper scooper that I’ve ever owned, the first being one of those ones that’s all one piece and is like a claw akin to the ones in those toy machines that we all loved and that we always wanted to play whenever we were out somewhere where there was one as kids. And that design just didn’t work as there was no way to be able to maneuver it, or even to maneuver the pile of poo, to get it picked up if it was one of those “land mines” that was difficult to pick up. So I knew that I didn’t want a pooper scooper designed like that. This one is light weight, but sturdy enough to get the job done (and to continue to get it done in more than one pooper scooper session). The bucket/bin portion of it flexes back and forth easily and with tying a knot on the handles, plastic grocery bags are able to fit the bucket/bin to line it and the grocery bag stays in place so there’s one less piece of the scooper that you’re having to spray down after each session. The rake works well for the most part also. The teeth of the rake are a little too far apart for the smaller turds of my 17# kiddo. For that I wish that this set was a three piece set instead of two, also including a shovel. I also like that it’s not metal so you won’t have to worry about it rusting.
Works – could be better. It works – I can bag up in one swoop. Issue is that the pole is a little flimsy, not enough to hinder use but annoying. the top loop part has come off a few times but I don’t use it to store the set so I just have to make sure my GSD doesn’t chew it. Putting the bags on is the biggest learning curve. I am not buying bags, I have 1000 plastic bags at home already, they work. You have to do the bottom (flat part) then feed one side of the handle under the top swivel piece, then adjust the bag’s loop around the bin’s loop. Make sure that you have enough extra bag to reach the other side of the bin. It can be a bit tight depending on the grocery stores bag LOL! My other issue is that you have to take the loops off the bin then kinda feed them under the swivel part to tie them up to throw them away. In my opinion, the swivel part should go opposite of that to be able to remove the bag without touching any part of the bin. But, I use it everyday and it works.
3 Dogs – LOVE this tool. With 3 dogs and a generous back yard, picking up the number two’s is not a job anyone looks forward to. This “pooper-scooper” is the best I’ve tried so far! I use the grocery store bags, which is a great way to recycle them, and it works perfectly! I like the rake style scoop because it gets under the poop while leaving the grass in it’s place. The “claw” type scoops don’t work so waste your money. This product is affordable and has paid for itself many times over! I highly recommend this product!
Makes Sundays much easier. This eliminates us having to constantly bend over. It’s been especially great when we forget to clean up one week and our yard is covered in poo. And with the triple digit weather we’ve had in Texas this summer, we’ve been able to get the job done much quicker. We just use grocery bags to line the bucket.
The Petmate Arm & Hammer Swivel Bin & Rake Pooper Scooper has been an absolute game-changer in managing my pet’s waste. I am beyond impressed with its efficiency and ease of use, and I am excited to share my positive experience.Firstly, the design of this pooper scooper is ingenious. The swivel bin and rake design allows for easy pick-up without having to bend over, which is a significant plus for those with back issues. The rake’s teeth are perfectly spaced and sharp enough to pick up even the smallest waste pieces, ensuring a clean yard. The integration of Arm & Hammer baking soda into the bin is a fantastic feature. It effectively controls odors, making the task of cleaning up after my pet much more tolerable. The scent is fresh and not overpowering, which I appreciate. The pooper scooper is made of durable plastic that is easy to clean and maintain. It’s lightweight yet sturdy, making it convenient for anyone to use. The bin has a large capacity, which means fewer trips to the trash can.Assembly of the pooper scooper was a breeze. The instructions were clear, and it didn’t take me long to put it together. The product also comes with waste bags, which is a nice touch. The Petmate Arm & Hammer Swivel Bin & Rake Pooper Scooper has made the task of cleaning up after my pet less daunting. It’s efficient, easy to use, and does an excellent job of controlling odors. I highly recommend this product to all pet owners. It’s a must-have tool for maintaining a clean and odor-free yard.
I Like It! Bag is a bit annoying. Very easy to set up and to use. I appreciate that the bags attach on the sides of the bin. Workes likes it’s supposed to but the rake is slightly flimsy. The bucket is smaller than I expected. I have included a picture with a roll of regular paper towels for scale. Because it’s smaller it doesn’t hold as much. I can fit about three days worth of poop in it (one dog/labrador). Much more will fit in the bag if you take it out of the bucket. One problem is that the bucket is open at the top so you WILL smell it. I just change the bag frequently, but it is a little disappointing that you have to switch out bags every single day, especially since the bag is never full. I’ve also had issues with the bag getting bunched as I move around the yard. Then I’m scooping into the bucket because the bag is closed and I don’t realize it. Interestingly this didn’t happen when I used a Safeway bag.Overall it’s a solid product. It does what it’s supposed to do and makes my life easier. Just keep an eye on the bag when you’re scooping.
Back and nose saver. I have 2 big dogs who can leave quite a few landmines around the yard. This scooper makes cleaning up super easy and you can reuse grocery bags in it for refills. My only gripe is that it doesn’t stand up independently, but I put a lanyard through the handle and hang it on a low hook on the fence so it’s basically standing but just supported by the lanyard. I would definitely recommend this to other dog owners, it’s been a great tool and even has gotten my kids to stop whining so much about picking up after the dogs since it’s super quick and easy with this
Easy to put together and easy to use. It’s easy to put together and works great. Just put the poop bag in the holder and use the rake to put the poop in the holder. When you’re ready to empty the bag just unwrap the handles of the bag, tie it up and throw it away. No touching poop, no smell, and it’s fast and easy. Good value for the cost.
Best Scooper Ever. Harden to believe I’d ever be excited by a pooper scooper but I have owned anywhere from 1 to 6 dogs at a time so I have scooped a LOT of poop. This is about the 5th model I have bought and it is by far the best. They include 2 bags with the purchase but you don’t really need to buy bags. Those plastic grocery bags every store says they recycle but probably end up dumped in the Indian or other ocean work just fine. You just slide the bag in the collection cup and hook the handles over the hooks on either side of the bottom of the cup. Because the cup swivels, you can lay it flat on the ground and putt those old doggie balls right into the cup with the included rake. No trying to balance them on a rake and throw them into a container, only to have them fall off and double or triple your work. The handles on the cup and rake are long enough that you don’t have to bend over to do the job. I am 5’7 and have no trouble. If you are say 5’10 or taller you will probably have to look at similar models that are more expensive. If you are young and healthy, a little bending won’t hurt and you can save money and use this one. I am 73 with arthritis so I try to keep my bending limited. Another nice thing is that you can keep the bag at arms length when you are removing the bag when finished. The plastic bag handles just slip off and the bag just slides out of the cup. A quick tie off and into. the garbage can. No need to wash out the cup unless you have foolishly forgotten to check the bag for holes. I only had to make that mistake once or twice and checking the bag is now part of my routine. These things are light but sturdy. You could easily take them to the dog park or anywhere else you walk your pooch. I recently bought one for my 75 yo sister who is still singing my praises for making her chores much easier and more comfortable. She has one medium size dog and she scoops one bag a week. I have an 80 lb and a 50 lb dog and I usually scoop one bag twice a week so that gives you an idea of capacity. I have a very small yard but don’t go out there often. If you have kids and don’t want to clean sneakers, you may want to do poop patrol more often. But that would probably be the case no matter which type of scooper you used. This one would just make it easier.

Sturdy and works well. I’m very happy with this product. I’ve used it for several months and it’s still in good shape and the swivel bucket makes it easy to empty and into a trash bin. It also came with trashcan liners, which I appreciate it. I’m glad I made this purchase.
Well-thought-out. This is a great, affordable buy to help keep the yard clean. I really like the design, which is similar to an industrial-style dust pan and broom. It includes two bags but the best part is that it fits a regular grocery bag just fine, which gives a great secondary purpose to them rather than throwing them away.It has hooks for the bag handles to hook onto but they can be a little tough to get on there. Easy to clean and also a great height to use. I’m 5’9″ and have no issues with the height. Perhaps people taller than that may find the height to be a bit short. I’ve included photos that show the dimensions of the product.
