Well-made, with some small caveats. First off, I wanted to mention the differences between the AquaPaw Pro vs Original.1) The Pro has the power button on the top that lets you cycle between normal pressure, high pressure, and off. The normal has the button in the middle that only lets you click between water on and water off.2) The diverter in the Pro comes with a hook for you to place the AquaPaw.3) The hose is greyish-white in the Pro, not blue, and the Pro comes in a cardboard box compared to a plastic container.Those are the only differences I’ve noticed. I was pretty confused since this wasn’t explicitly listed anywhere on the Amazon page, so I just wanted to mention it. Now that’s out of the way –So I researched for a while for a proper pet brush cleaner to attach to our shower, since none of our bathrooms had handheld shower heads. I was looking for a few things:1) wash our dog easily and painlessly because she hates baths2) something with a long hose that we could easily detach and attach no matter where we moved to, be it a place with a yard/garden hose attachment or another shower head.So I bought the AquaPaw Pro, since it seemed to be a decent, quality option compared to the others. I unscrewed our shower head with a monkey wrench, and screwed in the diverter tightly. It DOES NOT come with plumber’s tape, no matter what other reviews have said.Both the diverter and the AquaPaw works as intended. You pull the diverter lever and it’ll move water from either the AquaPaw or the shower head. However, initially, a LOT of water leaked when I used either the AquaPaw or the regular shower head. I had to screw in the diverter extremely tight, and even still, tiny beads of water will leak out from part of the diverter. I’m sure if I covered it with plumber’s tape or painted it shut it might prevent the water from beading out, but I wasn’t going to bother making a trip to the hardware store for it.There’s also a small ‘hook’ where the AquaPaw Pro is supposed to sit on the diverter. It’ll sit on the hook, but it doesn’t sit flush and it’ll fall if I don’t get it juuuust right. Even when it does sit on the hook, it’ll sit off-kilter. It’s not that big of a deal, but if I’m perfectly honest, it bothers my Type A personality that it doesn’t sit straight. Otherwise, the AquaPaw works great. Really easy to cycle between the water pressures, click on/off, and the brush is decent and easy to clean. Since we wash our dog in the tub, it was also nice to be able to use the AquaPaw to rinse all the leftover hair into the drain and collect it.We haven’t tried the garden hose attachment, and I wish it the attachment was made of metal so it’d be more durable, but it’s a nice to have since the flexibility is part of the reason why I went with the AquaPaw instead of another product.
My dog loves this. Chewie is our 20 month old 25 pound rescue (possible chiweenie, possible doxie-pin) and he HATES to be bathed. He has short hair and doesn’t need to be groomed often but when he does, he absolutely hates it!! We were using our detachable shower head before but decided to try this Aquapaw Pro Dog Bath Brush. I don’t write a lot of reviews but this one definitely needed to be written.The Aquapaw Pro Dog Bath Brush comes with a shower adapter so you could keep your usual shower head (for people) attached and keep the dog wash attachment as well. We decided not to do this right now as this is a guest bath that almost never gets used by humans. So we just had to unscrew our human shower head and screw in the dog wash head. Very easy.As for the use. This model comes with a button on the handheld part to adjust the water pressure. So you can switch from water completely shut off, to low pressure or to high pressure right there on the hand held. I also need to mention it is VERY quiet. Which I think was very helpful for our water fearing pup. It was very easy to use on Chewie and for the first time ever, he was not upset at all to be bathed. I am beyond excited!! We highly recommend this product for at home bathing and it is worth the extra $$ to have the ability to adjust water pressure right there on the handheld. I was able to shut off the water, towel dry him in the tub and then put the pressure on high to rinse out the tub. This shower head allows me to keep one hand on the shower head and one hand on him so he doesn’t jump out while he’s soaking wet.
This is AMAZING. This thing is an absolute game changer. I have five dogs, ranging from a short coated terrier mix to a doodle, to a thick coated Pyrenees. They all manage to get completely coated in the much hated red clay here in North Carolina on a weekly basis. I’d been using my detachable shower head to bathe the beasts, but it’s short hose and limited spray was a pain in the butt. The dogs learned to slither to the far end of the tub where the hose couldn’t reach, which whole fine for the thirty pound terrier, was a big problem when the much much heavier Great Pyrenees literally planted herself out of reach.This tool has saved me. The hose is long and reaches all the way to the far end of the tub, there is literally no escape for the wayward doggos. The brush head thing is comfortable for them, they love it for scratching their itchies and it gets through my huskies impenetrable waterproof coat to actually get her wet! It also washed out all the soap from the Pyrenees’s coat easily- something I’d only dreamed was possible. The variable spray strength options are awesome, my terrier is a wimp and needs a light gentle spray while the Lab needs everything I’ve got, water wise. Being able to turn it off at the hand, rather than turning off the entire shower, is well… incredible. No refiguring temperature on my finicky dials. It also desheds like crazy and gets all that loose dead hair off amazingly!As far installation goes, I left that to my husband. I know dogs, not plumbing. But then, hubby doesn’t know plumbing either, and he managed it in five minutes. We did have a small spray issue at the connection of the diverter because we didn’t have metal washers that are apparently needed per the instructions, but not included? I have no idea why those wouldn’t be included, and I’m not going to the hardware store, so we just accept it drips a little bit from the shower head area. I highly recommend you go buy some washers or that weird clear plumbing tape stuff if you want it perfect. This product would be absolutely perfect if it came with the washers. I feel like that would cost them all of like fifteen cents more to do, and save us some grief… but it’s not enough to lower my star rating. Just be aware, you really do need those. At least two, might be three but I can’t remember now.All in all, this is a fantastic product worth every cent and I absolutely love it. I use it regularly and both I and the dogs appreciate all the features and ease of use. Highly recommend.
Makes doggy baths soooooo much easier. We have three small dogs- an elderly Schnauzer Yorker female, a middle aged male long hair Chihuahua, & a newly adopted young terrier poodle(?) mix also a male. When we adopted our newest we knew we would have to do his bathing & grooming at home for quite some time because he is highly reactive & nowhere near social enough for a groomer so we started looking for things to make baths easier. Aquapaw has really helped with baths.We were using the regular handheld shower in the past but it was so heavy that it seemed hard to think about doing 3 dogs regularly. Also the hose was too short to effectively reach under our Chihuahua so we would have to pick him up to rinse his under side further tiring our arms & stressing our one good bathing dog. The dogs also figured out they could “hide” in the back of the bathtub or under the legs of the person bathing them.The Aquapaw was really quick & easy for my husband to install following the directions provided. It doesn’t leak or interfere with the regular shower function.The long hose of the Aquapaw easily reaches under our little guy. There is nowhere in the tub that the new guy can hide from the water- not even behind our legs at the back of the tub since we both have to bathe him at this point. It is so much easier & faster to the rinse the dogs all the way clean. The long hose also makes cleaning up after bath time & cleaning the tub in general much quicker.The easy one hand on/off function of the Aquapaw is so much better than leaving the shower running wasting water & money or turning it off & on at the faucet which was highly upsetting to our sound sensitive girl.My husband was hesitant about spending $40 on this because we had purchased a different hard plastic model in the past & it cracked after being dropped in the tub after only few uses. Because Aquapaw is silicone there is no risk of this. Aquapaw makes a lot less noise if it bumps the tub while washing the dogs or if it is dropped, which rarely happens because of the convenient hand strap. Anything that reduces noise is real favorite in our house.Aquapaw helped make baths so much better that we are now bathing the dogs every 2-3 week except the time we get to do just one because the other two go to the groomer. Speaking of the groomer, we now take them every 6 weeks saving money. Since we have learned to bathe & condition our dogs properly (shout out to Go Groomer Amy Leigh for her great advice) their coats & skin have never looked better.Even though we have only had this a short time we are so impressed that I have already recommended Aquapaw to several fellow dog owners.Thank you Aquapaw!!!
Pyr approved. Used this the other day on a big fluffy pyr who is not a fan of getting bathed. She actually didn’t mind this scrubber at all and it did a good job cleaning out the fluff! Easy to attach to the hose and use outside.
Easy to use, bathing the puppy isn’t a chore anymore. This attachment was easy to install and start using. The 2 settings make sense, the water pressure is ideal and it makes cleaning the dog easy and I have found myself using it too.
Works great. It works great for an outdoor dog bath. I haven’t tried using it on her in the tub yet.
GAME CHANGER. BEST DOG WASHING SYSTEM I HAVE EVER HAD OR SEEN !! I HAVE HAD SEVERAL OVER THE YEARS AND NICE ONES TOO , LIKE OTHERS I WAS VERY SKEPTICAL ABOUT PRICEPOINT OF PRODUCT. HOWEVER, I NEVER MIND PAYING A LITTLE EXTRA FOR A GREAT QUALITY PRODUCT AND THAT IS WHAT WE HAVE HERE ! BEST IN CLASS IN MY OPINION, NOW THE HUGE THING IS THIS , ANYONE THAT HAS A BACK ISSUES OR HAD ONE CREATED BY WASHING OUR LITTLE FRIENDS UNDERSTANDS PAIN ! MY BACK SOMETIMES DEPENDING DICTATES IF I WASH MY DOG WHEN I NEED TO. I MEAN THIS WASHER WORKS VERY WELL GETS SOAP OUT QUICK IT MAKES THE WHOLE THING QUICKER , AND SHE LOVES THE SILICONE FINGERS MASSAGING HER ! AND I KNOW MY DOG APPRECIATES IT TOO ! i LOVE this. now a staple. id wash my dog but hed always have some shampoo residue leftover which made him itch so it was annoying. i also always had to fill buckets of water to get him properly rinsed. but this is so easy to install just switch on and off if im using the hose or shower head. and it gets everything off him when im done. (i have a German shepherd )
Excellent product. Easy to install and use. I have used this item multiple times over the course of a year and it works perfectly every time. It is well made and thoughtfully designed (comfortable to use, useful handstrap and conveniently placed on/off pressure adjustment switch) I highly recommend this product.
