Cute, effective, often on discount. TL/DR: Quick heating, quick to cool down, has a minimal footprint, and at 500 watts it hasn’t blown my fusebox yet like my oil filled radiator heater is wont to do. It’s obviously underpowered for bigger rooms and/or distances, so it’s on you to know what you are really looking for in a space heater.—-I picked up this little dynamo on Prime Big Deals Day or whatever-it-was-called, in October 2023. If you don’t need it right this second, you can probably get it delivered for less than an Andrew Jackson.I think that after you count out purchasers who are using this heater for their personal workplace space, the next biggest category of buyers might turn out to be those who want to take a bit of the winter chill off of popping into the shower. Why? Maybe, for example, they live with a family member who tends to run about 20 degrees warmer than themselves, the sort of individual who goes sleeveless in winter, on a snow day, and they accommodate that co-habitant’s needs by keeping the thermostat low and wearing sweaters. But for a few activities, showering being among these, they prefer a bit more warmth in the room. Who knows? I’m just speculating. If that’s your idea for this heater, however, you should be aware that the instructions in the box caution against using the heater in a bathroom, or any room where there is running water, or where water might run from one place to another, or maybe in the same general place. A laundry room, for example. In this litigious society, I’m not about to suggest that this prohibition is overly broad or more about protecting the vendor/manufacturer than about preservation of common-sense product utility. That would be an unwise speculation on my part.I will say that a hypothetical user of this space heater, employing a modicum of common sense, keeping the bathroom sink securely off and towels away from this unit, might well enjoy a higher degree of personal safety than another, again hypothetical, office worker with a messy desk full of papers and an overflowing trash can. If this second hypothetic user, additionally, has a Big Gulp ™ with a loose lid on the desk near the heater, I’d say that the situation would be even more dire!4.5 stars. 3 stars for heat output in absolute terms, not that you necessarily need a blast furnace for every use case. 1 star for temperature control. The on/off button is the temperature control. Four stars for safety, not that Amazon asked me to rate that one. I don’t consider any space heater particularly “safe” but ceramic is certainly relatively safe and the little prongy thing on the bottom that turns the unit off if it doesn’t touch an unyielding surface is a very good idea, one that will hopefully keep folks from trying to run it sitting on a nice combustible quilt, or something.I call mine “Peanut Hamper”. Viva La Cerritos!**If you know, you know.
Decent little heater. Got this to heat ny tiny bedroom in the RV, it helps a little with raising ambiant temperature. Thats about it.Pros:-Small compact size, makes it eazy to set on a desk or a sheft.-Puts off a decent amount of heat from the front.-Energy efficient, does not need much power.-Tip over protection, shuts off if it falls over.-Only the face gets hot, you can touch the sides and the back just fine. Only the metal face can get hot enougg to burn you, that is expected out of a heater.-Its kinda cute, and easy to put away when not in use.Cons:-Only raises temperature a few degrees, depending on aplication that could be fine.-It has to be facing you directly to help keep you warm. Will not warm an entire room. Perfect to set on your desk while you are working on cold winter mornings. Or on your endtable by your bed.-No temperature controll. No thermostat what so ever, or way to select power level. It is just a constant stream of mild heat.
Keeps me warm. This is a very basic heater, but it does what it is supposed to do. I have a small cabin with a12X16 attic room, that includes a staircase. The room is very well insulated. I have been running the heater almost continually for over 5 months and have had no issues. No burning plastic smells. It has kept the room cozy and warm. It is not the kind of heater you stand close to to warm up quickly, but it emits steady consistent heat. It has not been super cold this winter, but we have had some periods below freezing for a few weeks and it kept the room warm enough to not need long sleeves. When the temperature outside is in the 40s, the room is hot. There is a cut off switch on the bottom, so if you pick it up or knock it over it shuts off, but does not need to be reset when you set it down again. If the electric power goes off, it will come back on again without needing to be reset when power is restored. It is easy to use, just a large physical on/off toggle switch, no dials or knobs. The grate on the face is metal and does get hot to the touch, so make sure it is set on a hard surface in a clear open space away from pets and children when on. I had a more expensive heater with a thermostat last year, but it did not even last through the winter. I think this heater will last, and it is worth the price.
Tiny but strong and powerful. I bought one back in Sept of 2022 and use it almost daily, all day… often forgetting to turn it off. ( I know not safe) BUT it’s never over heated, never made the surface underneath hot, it just does it’s job. It warms a large space decent but it works great for warming my toes at my desk. For $20 you can’t beat it!!
Cute and effective. So far so good! Heat is hot and can feel it from a good bit away! Is a little noisy, but no louder than an average fan
