Does it’s job. I have a naturally destructive dog. So when I got a new car I did NOT want him traveling in my back seat like he used to. Luckily my new car has a nice hatch area that he would fit well in. Only issue was that he could definitely jump over the seats if he tried. I racked my brain trying to figure out what to do to keep him confined, then I found this product. I was skeptical at first but gave it a try anyway, and it works perfectly. I added a bit of reinforcement myself to ensure he could not escape it or break it, but luckily he hasn’t even tried. It was a bit hard to figure out how to put together but not impossible. I put it in solo and it’s very doable once you figure out what goes where from the directions. I added a picture of my goofball posing with it

  2. Works as it should. This works and fits my car as it should. I’m only giving it 4 stars though because it is very hard to snap those pieces together on your own and if you find you need to adjust them, they break easily. The part that connects to the head rest isn’t that stable either. We took the extra measures and used some zip ties and tie downs to keep it secure.

  3. Works for us. We like it. Our dog is pretty good and doesn’t chew. He does stick his head around the sides where you can see the gap. We have a 2020 expedition and this is how it fits. It works for us but it Will greatly depend on your car shape and dog. It’s not a one size fits all for sure.

  4. It does the job and more. We had to zip tie this to the seats in extra places to keep our bigger dog from push the sides open and slipping his head through. But it does the job. Plus it keeps items from falling into the back seat and onto our kids when we have a lot of items in the very back. So it is great for keeping our dogs in the back and from items falling into other parts of the car.

  5. Exactly what we needed! 2022 Subaru Ascent. Fairly easy to assemble, considering there were no instructions in the box. Measured the opening and assembled easily. I held the barrier in place while my husband helped secure it. Seems sturdy enough. We put the third row seats down to give our 80 pound Lab more room so we do have the gap in between the middle row seats that we’ll need to block off. Tip: to install the bars onto the barrier we laid it flat on a table, got the bars in place and my husband popped them in with the side of his fist. They snapped right on. Would definitely recommend.

  6. Easy to install, nice barrier. I have two dogs who pout if they don’t get to go on daily rides to take my kids to school. I don’t love their nails on my leather seats, and they both shed a lot, so I decided to try them in the cargo area of my SUV instead, which is a bit easier to keep clean. I ordered this obviously to provide the separation and curb their desire to be closer to their humans. It works well. It was not hard to install once I got all the parts and pieces put together. I can take it on and off pretty easily, but I do need to climb into the cargo area to do so. I drive a 2014 Ford Edge SUV and this fits pretty well. I could expand it a bit more for a wider vehicle, like a Yukon or Tahoe, and it would likely fit well too without too much gap on the sides. I was worried this would be too flimsy, but for my dogs it is sturdy enough. That being said, neither of them push their boundaries too much. An incredibly determined bigger dog might be able to pull it/dislodge it from position, but it wouldn’t really be easy to do if installed correctly.

  7. Just what I needed to protect new SUV. We recently purchased a new Mazda CX-50 and needed to figure out how to contain our 50 lb. staffy in the cargo area. (Previously I had a 13-year-old car and only used a pet blanket on the back seat; the dog would still jump up into the front passenger seat most of the time but I didn’t really care given the older vehicle.) This was one of two different barrier styles I purchased from Amazon to try out. Overall the assembly was quite simple. Because of the interior width of the vehicle, I actually didn’t need to attach the two triangular side panels. You can see in the photo that it’s just the main rectangular panel. There’s still a little space on each side, which our dog can poke his head through, but can’t fit his whole body through.I think the most important thing is getting your measurements right, especially the width between the headrests, so that you attach the vertical bars at the correct distance on the panel. Taking them off to readjust doesn’t seem like it would be very easy. The barrier seems very sturdy once tightened into place. We’ve only used it once so far with the dog, but it did the trick to keep him contained in the back. It was his first time not being able to move around the vehicle freely like he used to, but thankfully he stayed pretty calm even though it was a fairly short drive to the vet. I’m hoping this means we can bring him along on longer road trips too. For now I’m just keeping the barrier attached even if the dog isn’t in the vehicle, but it’s easy enough to loosen and remove when needed. Note: As you can see in the photo, we’re also using a separate cargo pet liner for additional protection of the interior.

  8. Mediocre design but seems to do the intended job. Got this for my 2023 Subaru Outback Wilderness as I was tired of my dogs tearing up the interior from letting them hang out with the back seats down. Overall fitment in the Outback as you can see in the 1st picture conforms decently with the gap between the back seat/roof. Do note that if you want to be able to drop the rear seats down without removing the bracket you will have to drop the grate down a little bit lower, at least in the Gen 6 Outbacks.Overall I gave this 4 stars, it is certainly serviceable and works as described, and given that the nicer barriers from Subaru or TravelAll are in the $250-$300 range, it seems short term to be decent value for the money. Having said that however just a few minor changes could make this into a fantastic product, even if the cost were bumped up by $10-$20.The brackets that connect to the head rest post rely on the hook clicking onto the post, but when you tighten the bolts into the brackets, the ends of the bolts do not have a threaded hole to go into, they simply tighten against the post if you have them lined up right or in my case in the 2nd picture, due to the angle they just tighten and then start hitting the other side of the hook or floating off into empty space. If the product came with two pairs of the mounting assembly so it could mount to both posts of both headrests and/or the hook bracket itself had a threaded return hole for the bolt to thread into (preferably a metal threading of course) this would allow the product to tighten much better and reliably against the posts. I have only driven a few hours with this on but it seems reasonably sturdy but we’ll see how it does in the long run. I was tempted due to the low price to buy a second one so I could get another pair of head rest post mounts but for the time being I will live with it.I saw in some reviews that customers indicated the product was loose/flapped/rattled. I experienced the same thing and was very disappointed in the product, however in my rush to assemble it I didn’t notice that in the instructions it points out that it includes two different length bolts for the attachment points to the rear head rests. After swapping the longer bolts I had originally used for the shorter ones, overall, it feels fairly sturdy considering it’s just hanging onto the two head rest posts with the very rudimentary hook shaped bracket. I have not noticed any vibration or movement while driving so far.The installation is not hard but can be annoying if you’re doing it by yourself as you need to hold the metal grates at the appropriate height while trying to attach the headrest brackets/tighten them down, but it’s doable. Having said that I would probably be unhappy if I needed to remove/reinstall this product on a regular basis in order to drop the rear folding seats.Overall if you’re looking for a budget orient barrier, this is a solid choice.

Happy with this guard. Recently found my 3 year old lab in the front seat of my 4Runner and wasn’t happy! He crawled over the back seats. He has chewed the knobs off of my fiancé’s truck and it costed about $2,000.00 to fix. NOT MY 4 RUNNER!!! I went to local pet store and there was a guard for $125.00 and another model I just didn’t like…..I searched Amazon and this was the first thing to come up. Decided to give it a try and I am happy with it! A little tricky to install on my own but was too stubborn to ask for help. I did get it done and I’m happy with this product. I feel it can save a ton of money by preventing my lab from getting in the front of the car chewing and also another concern was him getting hurt crawling over the seats….This is a good fit for my 2021 4Runner

  10. Not the best for mini coppers. And not the sturdiest thing either, my pup was able to push it in so that she can fit her entire head through in the gap between the wire and the side of the car, when she’s particularly determined she can squeeze all 45lb of her through to the front. Installing it was kind of a pain, wishing I’d send it back before the return window closed.
