Amazing. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I have a 2.5 year old Aussie Doodle. I do all the grooming to avoid the cost, time, hassle needed to take him to the groomers. I have been through many razors. He has several different types of fur, curly, thick, thin, straight. All of the razors I have used in the past were ok / good for the first use. I did find a razor that was good on the second use as well. All of the ones I have tried got hair caught in the blade and it took me more than 3 hours straight from start to finish. I was cleaning up hair everywhere during and after and had to constantly stop to remove hair jammed in the blade / comb attachment. Most of the time I would give up on the comb attachment and use a regular metal comb and the blade with no attachment. When I did this the result was very uneven coat. I did oil the blades for all of the razors I have tried and cleaned them after each use.This razor vacuum combo has changed everything. I was able to fully shave my Aussie Doodle in 45 minutes. He is 50 pounds. I cleaned the cannister 3 times and there was no mess anywhere. The way the blade and vacuum are attached prevents the hair from getting stuck in the blade. I used the attached comb the entire time. There was only one time that hair got stuck, it was a mat that got stuck in the comb. The noise volume for the vacuum is low and tolerable by my dog on the lowest level. I did not need to raise the speed of the vacuum from the lowest setting at any time. If you do increase the speed / power the volume of the vacuum goes up but it is not needed during the shaving process.I have only used it one time so the proof will be after the next use. I am very optimistic with this razor. I would recommend it for anyone to home groom. The only criticism I would give is to have a bigger cannister to hold the fur.On a side note, a very important thing I learned along the way was, fully wash, condition, and comb out your dog before shaving. It makes a world of a difference.
Great item. Bought this for use with our Seven dogs. I highly recommend this item. I first used it with my full Aussie doodle, she is usually a bear to groom so we usually keep her coat shorter. Not shaved. Just shorter. It had been a while since she had been to groomers, so she was pretty shaggy. With a little patience this device worked beautifully. The vacuum is not really loud and I had to empty it many times, but the results were awesome. I then used it on my English Shepherd, again another heavy coated dog, we usually keep him short for summer, these dogs are not workers and don’t stay outside except to play and potty. They love the shorter coat, much cooler for their summer. Also the guides work great, just be patient the first use. Recommend bath and dry before cutting. It’s excellent for hygiene cut for our breeding females and male. I look forward to using this device, it makes grooming and trimming very easy, just be patient when you use it the first time.
Different types of coats. First are my cons which really make me not want to recommend this – first, the hose is WAY too short and stiff. I have had cheap throw me out vacuums that had stiff plastic hoses and better quality ones that were rubbery, softer, easier to bend and manipulate, this hose is of the cheap kind. There is no way to keep the vacuum on the floor and use a grooming table, the hose is too stiff to manipulate and too short at maybe 4 feet, it needs to be at least 6-7’ for me to use the table. And that would still require me turning the dog to be able to reach top, both sides and head.Second, the tank is too small. Yes there other options with larger tanks but this came recommended from a friend. With my labradoodle that has lab type hair, I had to empty the tank 10 times and he wasn’t even due for a grooming yet. One leg and tank was full. My standard poodle was even more and she too wasn’t due for a groom.Third con, I dislike guards but the blade alone cuts like a 10 which is too short. The guards work ok on lab type fur but poodle curls there are not enough teeth the comb through and lift the hair. It would be nice if we could buy different blades for this rather than having to use guards.Pros – it raises the hair with the vacuum as you cut it which helps with some hair types. My floor and bed are free of dog hair, where I cut four out of five of my dogs. It is a bit quieter than a regular vacuum and clippers.Concept is excellent, however, next time I would splurge a bit more and go for a larger tank and much longer, better quality hose.
Amazing. This is the first review i’ve ever left on amazon- but seriously this is the greatest thing I’ve ever purchased. I have a 3 year old Border Collie who haaaates being groomed. This tool has been a lifesaver. It is so easy to use, fairly quiet, and effective. Ripley won’t sit still for long and her skin is sensitive, but this vacuum makes it so easy to use for a short period of time. She usually will lay down on her side but prefers to be on the couch. I would’ve NEVER groomed her on the couch before (wayyyy too much hair) but this vacuum leaves behind zero mess- No hair clean up!!!! If I could give this thing 10 stars i would. Do yourself a favor and buy it!!!
Game changer. Having four dogs that need groomed has been challenging and expensive. This item is a game changer for me. My dog love it so much when I am grooming one the others want their turn. I highly recommend this product. Low noise as described. The vacuum picks the hair up then cuts with very little hair that doesn’t make it in the canister. The only issue I have is when grooming two of my large dogs the canister is just too small. I have to stop and empty very often. They don’t mind though and only move to look and see when I will continue.
