Common Sense Reigns Supreme. Finally! A pool net that was designed by someone who is obviously a pool owner/maintainer and manufactured by a company who believes in their employee’s knowledge of how it should work! The secret to this net is the flexible front lip. There are all sorts of nets that utilize a HARD curved plastic lip that promises the buyer that it will assist in “scooping up” debris along the bottom of your pool….LIES….all lies!! That my friends, is all BS from the sales and marketing departments. When comparing a flexible rubber lip net to the hard plastic lip net, it is absolutely no contest as the rubber lip net is far, far superior in capturing anything sitting on the bottom of your pool. The Sepetrel net conforms ever so easily to the shape of the pool bottom and if done slowly, carefully and deliberately, will allow you to grab debris in the curved area where the pool bottom transitions to the vertical pool wall. The Sepetrel net is a fine mesh type net so what does this mean to you as a user? On the up side it will collect fine particles. On the downside be prepared that the drag of moving it thru the water will be higher. If for instance you have lots of trees around your pool and you are cleaning up after a high wind storm: you may want to reach for that other skimmer net built with a coarser net hung from a an aluminum frame. That is where those type nets excel. Too many pool owners want to have one net to fit all their maintenance needs which is wrong. An analogy to this would be different types of hammers. Would you use a sledge hammer to install a picture hook on a wall? Of course not! The Sepetrel rubber lip net is specifically designed for capturing and holding small debris from along the bottom of your pool and small junk on the water surface such as cotton wood fuzz and bugs. It is still strong enough to hold large items (I fished out a deceased bird yesterday, a first for me) but if you think that you are going to be able to thrust it super-fast into the water to catch a frog swimming in your pool, forget it as the net material is a finer mesh and has much higher drag. The construction of the net appears to be of high quality. The rubber material seems to have an excellent bond to the plastic frame and has a what I would call a “flexible hinge point” on each side of the net to allow controlled movement of the front of the net; a design method to extend the life of the net assembly. The plastic frame itself has multiple ribs its underside making it strong but overall the net assembly is lightweight. The net comes in two pieces, the main frame/net and the pole adapter which fits very snugly into the net frame: an indication of tight manufacturing tolerances….no wobbling here. I have not used the net long so I cannot comment on its long term life performance but please let me stress that ALL pool maintenance tools will suffer premature failure if left out in the sun when not being used. I learned that having my net and pole stored hanging on the fence all day long killed the plastic material of all my previous nets. It takes slightly longer but I now leave only my pole on the fence and store my nets inside a pool side cabinet, out of reach of the sun’s destructive rays when not in use. I have only one thing where I thought a slight change would be an improvement. The net has a “finger tab” or weight that if it was slightly heavier, it would improve the emptying (shaking out) of the collected debris. To conclude, the Sepetrel Rubber Front Lip Net is an excellent product and a tool that every pool owner/maintainer should have in their collection of items needed to keep pools sparkling clean. A specifically designed pool tool that is a joy to use cause it works! THANK YOU Sepetrel!!

Seems pretty sturdy. Frame is much thicker than my prior blue skimmer I had where the frame cracked out and the net failed. Wish these skimmers had a way to clamp in the screen material so if it broke out down the road you could get some low cost screen and just replace that instead of the entire skimmer. Time will tell how well this holds up. For the money seems like a good value assuming I can get at least several years use. I keep my brush and skimmer stored in my garage for seems my outside storage box may let UV in that kills plastic.

Great product. For the price, compared to in store pool skimmers it gets the job done. A little smaller than advertised in the picture, but the net works great.

awesome. This is by far the best pool net I’ve had. It gets everything and it actually stays in the net, unlike others. It’s very sturdy and I love how I can get stuff in the corner of the pool on the bottom. I’m very happy with this net.

Work’s great. I love this pool skimmer. My old one was not made nearly as well and crack the first season I used it. This skimmer is made well and does a great job removing pine needles, leaves, bugs, & grass! Very happy with this purchase.

Pond skimmer. Works well and seems durable for the price

Great skimmer – smaller and gets debris off the bottom effectively. This is slightly smaller than most skimmers but works great. It is one of the best units for getting leaves and debris lifted off the bottom of the pool. This time of year squirrels have a feast on acorns and this helps pick up the shell pieces.

Nice product. Strong, sturdy. Able to run along the bottom of the pool due to the shape of the edge of the skimmer. Picks up fine debris due to the fine netting. Clips in and out of pole quickly and easily.
