  1. Great product. We’ve used this preventative on our puppies for two months now. We have 4 acres next to our house that are harvested for hay, so my dogs of course like running through the tall grass. I’ve only seen one tick on each of them, a very low amount compared to what I would expect, so I consider this a win. For reference, our dogs (Great Pyrenees) were 60-70 lbs the first month and 70-80 lbs the next month. I found that there was plenty of medication in each tube for each dog. It didn’t seem to irritate their skin either. I would definitely use this preventative again.

  2. Worked for my dog. My dog was itching all day and night. Neither he or I could sleep. So I purchased this item and shortly after l applied it he stopped scratching and biting himself. So glad he finally has some relief.

  3. Needed in a pinch. Was using Activate II, it suddenly stopped working. Whether is was a bad batch, fleas got resistant to the stuff, IDK… all I know is my flea allergy guy got fleas which isn’t a good thing! Tried going with another cheaper flea medication (generic frontline plus equivalent) which triggered an ataxic episode (long story short DONT GIVE SYMPARICA TO ANY DOG… IF YOU LOVE IT, JUST DONT DO IT!) Anyway, had to wash the stuff off pronto and get some Advantix ordered STAT. As soon as it arrived, we put it on him, and ALL is well with the world again. My GSD is once again Flea free, Ataxia free, and a BIG Happy Boy! Rainbows, Butterflies, Fields of Daisies and the whole nine yards!

  4. Product is great; Amazon packaging procedure not so much. I have used K9 Advantix II for several years on my 70lb. Lab mix. He never gets a flea even though he’s outdoors a lot. (there are no ticks in my area that I know of). He has no adverse reactions to the medication. My issue is with Amazon. This item came in a small Amazon box with several other items on the order. When I opened the box, the K9 Advantix box was wide open and the individual doses were scattered among the other items. There were perforations on the side where you tear a flap in the package, they were already torn. The small circular seal tape on the edge had been cut. This product has many warnings that it contains dangerous chemicals. Why did I get a package that was deliberately opened? I am not normally a skeptical person, but this is a big red flag for me.

  5. Dogs. Worked great on my dogs good value !

  6. IT works fast. I just put it on my dog for the second time. I am thrilled with this stuff no more fleas. My dog is happy again. We ended up infested with fleas. My poor dog had bites all over his body, especially his rear end. He was going crazy and crying all the time I was trying everything on him, but I knew we had to get rid of the fleas. I tried for other products, not cheap and not good. Finally a product that does what they say it does. So easy to put on a few dots from shoulder blades to tail. My dog had no problems with it going on and evidently it doesn’t sting or anything because he was fine. The fleas are gone. It wasn’t just on him. FYI we have several indoor cats, who also ended up with them including babies. Fleas can be so hard to get rid of Buy this now if you don’t have them in your house. My dog is 80 pounds but I’ll tell you the price is worth it. I still have marks from getting bitten by the fleas. Oh yeah, they eat everything including us.

  7. Not as effective as other brands, but better value. I find this not as effective as another leading brand, but the price is good. I just find that I have to use it more frequently as it wears out faster.

  8. Flea control. I worked as a vet tech for years and this is as good as the high priced products. It is easy to apply. The directions are on the box, and the individual tube. Doesn’t really have an odor. Does leave an oily spot for a few hours, but is totally worth the price. It is very effective in killing fleas and keeping them off your pets. Would recommend this because it lasts.

  9. Works like magic. My bigger dogs had hot spots and I suspect it was fleas. Within less than a day it worked. Great for ticks too.

  10. Easy application for getting rid of a flea infestation. K9 Advantix II XL Dog Vet-Recommended Flea, Tick & Mosquito Treatment & PreventionEasy to apply behind the neck, simple fast application.Takes care of the fleas that have not hatched. Will require additional applications to kill the fleas that hatch from eggs, follow the directions.RECOMMENDEDI do not know the seller not did I receive any money for my random review.241010 0130

  11. Excellent. Works great for my dog and It’s few pennies cheaper than what I paid at PeSmart and I don’t have to leave my home to get it 🙂

  12. Awsome product. Get two boxes each year product works for are 4 dogs.

  13. Works well. I’ve used this product for yrs with all my dogs. It works well

  14. What happened?! Did they change something. I have been using this for years and it has always worked great. The last box I bought I could tell when I put it on it was different. It was very thin like water and ran right off onto the floor. It has been a week and I just found 4 fleas on my dog. What did they change because I will not buy again if its not fixed.

Helps keep ticks away. Easy to apply works about 30 days. Helps keep my 5 dogs tick free. Live in Northern New York by Canada and ticks are prevalent. Love to hike in the woods with my pups and this product works amazingly well. Pricey but works well.

  18. Flea medication. OMG the best flea medicine I have bought!! Used it once and haven’t needed to use again. I brought once and haven’t purchased again. This stuff really works!

  19. Cheap way to buy flea and tick protection for a smaller dog. This is a great product that I have used for years on my dog. I learned a while ago that if you have a smaller dog, you can buy the large-dog version and get many more doses for the same price! Just look at the dose specified on the package for your pet (or look at the volume of each individual vial). Then use only that amount on your pet. I use a small hypodermic syringe to apply 1 mL to my dog, which means each vial of the XL dog package equates to four doses! Great money-saver.

  20. Works Great. I have bought this product numerous times for my large dog. He weighs 75lbs and this product works great. I have not found a flea on him since beginning the use of this flea control. It doesn’t have a noticeable smell, easy to apply and seems to last the full amount of time as advertised.

Flea death commeth. Dealing with a flea problem and this was recommended. It is definitely a walking flea killer. Our dog is 80lbs. After I apply this I see dead fleas on her bed and the ones still on her are moving at a fraction of the speed. We reapplied after 3 weeks due to her weight and this is for dogs 55lbs. Cannot let the fleas get a moment of rest. This is our first issue with fleas after a lifetime of having pets and it is a nightmare so I empathize with those going through it. I vacuum daily in the main bedroom. No pets on the bed for our sanity to have one space in the house that is for sure 100% flea free. Yard was sprayed and bought Nyguard to spray in the house. We do everything natural so it has been sad to turn to chemicals but when you become desperate you cave to what works best. I’ve tried essential oils and not sure how much that deters fleas. We also have a small dog and a cat. Pest guy says squirrels are main carriers for fleas so that is all we can figure out for how they got here. Or the cat that does wander at night. Also weekly baths on the dogs. The cat got a bath but he is black and I have yet to see a flea although he is always scratching. Also using homeopathy remedy so look that up. Good luck!

This will get rid of fleas on large dogs in one dose. This is my German Shepherd and I have tried many different brands of flea medicine for my dog, and after being applied, he would itch and itch and itch as if I never gave him any medicine at all. This is the first brand that I put it on and he stops itching within 24 hours. I hate watching him scratch himself and cry because he’s itching from fleas. He’s a big dog. He has lots of fur. This medicine works within the 24 hours. The negative is it leaves a waxy greasy buildup behind his neck where I deposit it for about four days, but it does not smell. It just looks oily. I will take the oily look any day over him being uncomfortable and itching. In the past, I would end up using two treatments out of other brands and he would still itch so this one is for bigger dogs and it definitely covers him completely for 30 days. I do put a new one on every 30 days just because I don’t want fleas in the house. It’s not easy to find a good flea medicine that actually works this one. I promise you does so it’s worth the extra money because I only have to use one packet every 30 days not to like I do with other brands.

  26. The safest and most effective tick protection – ticks fall off just from touching the fur. I brought my dog to West Virginia, and thank God for Advantix II — because I’ve been finding half-dead ticks every single day (no joke) in places where she sleeps or rests. At first, I was confused. I thought “repels ticks” meant it would work like bug spray does for mosquitoes, keeping them away completely. But after looking into the active ingredient, permethrin, I realized that in this case, “repel” means: once a tick touches the treated fur, it becomes so irritated or neurologically impaired that it can’t bite, can’t hang on, and eventually just falls off and dies. That’s still so much better than PetArmor, Frontline, or any of the oral preventatives (like Simparica or NexGard), which require the tick to bite the dog before it dies. No thanks. Every tick I’ve found so far had already dropped off my dog before it had a chance to bite her and feed — exactly what you want in a tick-heavy area.I’ve also tried Wondercide (cedar oil). It works okay for fleas, but it’s just not effective for ticks, especially not in the long term. Its protection wears off after 2–4 hours. I learned the hard way — my dog caught Lyme disease, developed joint pain and a limp. Thankfully, doxycycline helped and she’s okay now, but it required a full 28-day antibiotic course.I would never use oral flea/tick medications. Just ask around — you’ll hear plenty of stories about dogs having seizures after taking them. For me, that risk isn’t worth it.If you have a cat at home, unfortunately Advantix II may not be right for your household — permethrin is toxic to cats (especially when wet). But if you don’t have cats, I highly recommend this product to all dog owners. Tick-borne diseases are no joke. Fleas are annoying — I’ve had to go through the nightmare of clearing an infestation — but at least they just suck blood without causing life-threatening illness.Ticks, on the other hand, can transmit Lyme, Ehrlichia, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, and more. So if you live somewhere warm, humid, grassy, or deer-heavy — do your dog a favor and get Advantix II. It’s been a lifesaver for us.

  27. Worked on my Great Pyrenees. The day after applying this product on my Great Pyrenees, I noticed a few blood filled ticks falling off of him. I didn’t know he had such large ticks on him. GP have very thick double coats and getting down to the skin is difficult. I’m pleased with this product.

  28. Effective flea treatment. So far so good. This seems to be a very effective topical treatment. I have 5 dogs and some very annoying, wandering flea infested neighboring cats. I have tried multiple flea treatments for my dogs that were not the greatest. And last year we had the same issues with fleas. It has been almost a week and it not only killed current fleas but I haven’t seen anymore so far. Hopefully it lasts the whole month or at least 3 weeks and I will treat again. Thank you Advantix for giving my fur babies the relief they deserve and need.
