Once you use this cotton you are ruined forever. Oh how I wish I never knew about Japanese cotton! I worked for a Japanese company in the 1990’s through 2004. I went to Tokyo and Kyoto and was based in NY. The Japanese culture is quite extremely precise and perfectionistic. Only in Japan could I discover that every cheap cotton ball or pad I had used throughout my life was not cutting it. I don’t know how they do it. But God love the Japanese for refusing to just accept okay in a lot of goods. The cultural attitude is “if we make it as excellent as we possibly can, people will buy it” and they are correct. These rectangles hold tons of moisture but also release it onto your face if used for toner, essence, etc. It retains and releases nail polish remover better than any American drug store cotton I have ever used. I wish I could describe how soft and sublime these are. One cotton rectangle goes a long way. I can remove heavy eye-makeup with only two rectangles and some Bioderma. I can use a third pad to remove all my face makeup or sunscreen. (In the past I went through way too many cotton balls or rounds) When I use the Japanese cotton to remove waterproof eyeliner, I can get right into the rims of my eyelids without any cotton “threads” ending up in my eyes! These are just so wonderful and heavenly-that’s why I pay $16 for a big box of cotton. But my husband will go insane if he ever discovers my “secret”. The average man will not understand why this cotton makes such a difference. The day he finds out I use this cotton is going to be WW3. Luxury girl vs. cheapskate thrift man. Lol.

Just excellent. I have been using this product for at least eight years and have always been pleased with Texture, the softness, and the quality. They are very gentle for removing eye make up.
