Sturdy, sharp, easy to use. In my quest to make life more comfortable for my dog Orielle I decided it was high time that I learned how to trim her nails. Orielle HATES riding in the car and she usually pukes. Her nails grow quickly and they need to be trimmed every three weeks. I was always afraid to attempt this myself … fearing that I would cut into the quick and hurt her. I was more than willing to pay the $14 to have the vet do it … but then there was that 30 minute car ride to Fox Chapel. So I put on my brave girl pants and started my research. I watched maybe 50 You Tube videos on how to do it. Then I went shopping at amazon.com and found a pair of dog nail clippers that looked like ones I could handle. I got the Boshel Clippers (with nail file). They were $40 but I got them on sale for $13. A good buy. I chose these because they have a safety stop that reduces the risk of injury to my baby.It took me a few days after they arrived to get the nerve to attempt to use them. I was going to follow one You Tubers advice – this woman said she did just one nail each day. I thought I could handle that. I sat down in the yard and crossed my legs … putting Orielle in the middle. I put her favorite song on the iPad – “So Wake Me Up When It’s All Over” (how appropriate is that?). Many experts advise using treats to keep the dog still. Ori’s fav is popcorn with cinnamon/sugar on it. I kept a bowl of that close by. Turns out I didn’t need it. She sat still and I did all 16 in less than a minute – snip, snip, snip, snip. These clippers are very sturdy and sharp. No dogs (or people) were injured.
Not as described. These stick, and the spring is too weak to keep the blades open. They are too complicated and time consuming for the comfort of my dog. They work, sort of.Edited info:I popped the dust caps off and adjusted the nut and bolt tension. The product works well now.
Makes trimming my dog’s nails easy. I have trimmed my other dog’s nails and cut them too short. I’ve been paying the vet to do it because I don’t like hurting my dogs. This trimmer is easy to use and almost impossible to cut too much off, even if the dog is squirming. Buy it, you won’t regret it!
Amazing product. We have an X large breed dog with black nails. It safely cuts her nails with ease! Great safety feature. We’ve only used the clippers a couple times so I can’t answer on longevity
Ok. I have a dog with very thick nails, so far I have not been able to find a nail clipper that was sharp and strong enough, this one is just OK, it does the job, but I still have to struggle to clip the nail. I wish I could find some thing that was truly sharp, my dog does not mind having his nails clipped at all. This was advertised as being sharp and strong, it’s just OK.
Missing piece. The nail file that is supposed to be stored in the handle, is nowhere to be found.
AMAZING CLIPPERS. Our dog is a very energetic. She particularly uses this energy to get out of getting her nails clipped so that we have to ply her with treats to even hope to get one paw done at a time. Then when we’d get her to sit, she would still snatch her paws away when I clipped them unless it was at the very tip of her nail. Even when I wet her nails/paws to reduce any nail brittleness, clipping my dogs’ nails was still an uphill battle. Why say any of this? Because I thought that was just how she was until I used the Boshel nail clippers. First, my hand has been hurting me lately so I thought I was going to have to hold off, but the ease of use when handling the clippers is absolutely awesome. People that struggle with weak hand strength would be able to use it easily. Second and most importantly, she doesn’t recoil and jump every time I clip her nails now. She’s SO much more tranquil which cuts the clipping time in half and I can actually make the cuts I need to the first time. I guess it’s the recoil + the sharpness of the clippers. Third, the clippers also come equipped with a nail file that slides into the end of the clippers. If you have a dog, buy these clippers!
AMAZING. These are the “BEST” toe nail clippers I’ve ever purchased. I volunteer with a dog rescue and foster a lot of dogs. Most of them need their nails trimmed, so nail clippers are a must have! They feel comfortable in my hand and are easy to grip. They do an excellent job cutting the dogs nails. The blades are sharp, and they cut “large” nails easily. I like the safety guard and the little nail file that inserts into the handle. These are excellent clippers and rate them five star as they are easy to use, and get the job done!

Great Pair of Nail Clippers. These clippers are excellent – they are well made and are very comfortable to use. They arrived very sharp and makes trimming my dog’s nails a breeze. I can get them all done before she starts getting irritated and wanting to run away. The nail stop is a nice added feature and is very easy to use. Highly Recommend!

Good safety, faulty spring. These clippers have a small metal plate that stops you from cutting too much of the nail into the quick. It works great. My only problem is that the spring between the handles comes out very easily and can be annoying to put back in.

Very easy to use. My chocolate lab has all black nails so I always had to clip his nails by looking at the bottoms … not easy. With the built-in stop, I don’t have to worry about hitting the quick and can cut them quick and easy.
Easy to use and efficient. The trimmers do a good, efficient job of trimming my large dog’s thick nails. It is quick and she will hold still and it causes her not discomfort.
PAWesome product. Team work makes the dream work! Smooth as butter! These velociraptors disguised as dogs did not fight me once! Do know since they were 8 weeks I’ve cut their nails every 2 weeks. So they are used to it. I used to have the furminator nail clippers for years. These surpass those 100 to none! The file is a nice touch but my electric one is much faster. Love that it was smooth and an easy process for all 3 of us!
They work well. They work well my dog wasn’t in pain or anything when I used it. The small size is for smaller breeds for sure the blades don’t open super wide but they cut her nails and didn’t cause any pain so I am happy with them.
Quality is great. Worked good. They are very well made, my only complaint is they are too big to cut a couple of my small Chihuahua’s nails. They worked better on my larger (small) dog! (20 lb)!
Perfect puppy clipper. This little clipper worked perfect on my frenchie puppy nails. It was easy to handle, and fit in my hand perfectly. The cutting edge was sharp and precise. This is great for SMALL cats and dogs, or puppies. I would not use it on my bigger dogs, it’s not made for that.
Good nail clippers and worth the money. These are good nail clippers. I love how they have a stopper on the backside so you don’t cut the nail too deep. They are durable and not flimsy. These clipper are sharp and cut with ease. The size is perfect for any size animal. They are worth the price for sure.
