Worked well for stripped railing. The pieces stay attached very well. You have to attach the blade you are going to use perpendicular then rotate it and push the handle close. I stripped two stair railings. At times the blades did not strip or cut into the wood; this was due to not finding the correct angle or too much pressure. I would recommend this tool. Please see attached photos.
The Solution for Scraping Detail Surfaces. The lamp shown in the attached pic had 3 layers of paint over its cast iron beauty. Paint stripper made removing the paint from the pole a snap with a straight edge scraping tool. The base and bridge required this scraping tool and a variety of the accompanying heads. It’d never have worked out well without the tool. Evenso, patience was required.
Great tool, just don’t break the handle. The latch to tight the blades immediately came undone upon opening the package. Took a little bit to understand the mechanics, but after getting everything back together, it works like a charm. I’d recommend this tool for light duty scrapping work.
Good Tool, Narrow Blades. A nicely made tool, I’d give it a 4.5/5 if I were allowed. The quick and easy blade changes are nice, and the variety of blades provided is impressive. My only reservation is that the blades were too small for the job I had to tackle, but the blades provided were sharp, durable, and effective. I also do not know if you can purchase just the blades when they wear out, so I’ll need to look into that. The handle is comfortable and seems durable for the long haul. If you are doing fine surface preparation (furniture, molding, detail work etc.) then this is a 5/5. If you are looking to remove a lot of paint or other material from large surfaces, then this blade setup may get tedious as it is only about one inch wide. Still effective, but covers less real estate per pass. I hope this helps!

Lots of options. Bought it to strip a living room mantle. Lots of blades for various trim work! Good price, works well!!
Perfect. Refinishing my very old windows – and there must be 100 paint layers on them. To get into some of the molding – I needed a smaller sharp tool – and this has been perfect. Super easy to change out the blades – which are very sharp. Love that they included a carry case for the blades to keep things organized. I would highly recommend for paint removal and woodworking.

Another great product by Hyde. Was scraping the house with this two years ago and it still works today. Sturdy & small for those tight places! Love this tool!
Worked just perfectly for my needs. Used it for stripping a roll top desk.
Very good paint scraper. I have used this multiple times with a heat gun and it works very well. I like the interchangeable blades. My only suggestion is for the case that holds the unused blades to be a little sturdier. You are going to need to put them in the bag because they do not stay in the case. As far as the tool goes, it works very well.

Handy Tool, but Blades Need to Be Sharpened Before Use. The media could not be loaded. The Hyde Contour Scraper with 6 Changeable Blades has a variety of head shapes which was what I needed to refinish the wood trim in our older home. The ‘head to handle’ angle is a fixed position to give good leverage, comfort and scraping performance. The blade release is a simple lever action making tool changes quick and easy. I appreciated this since most of our trim pieces contained multiple shapes, requiring multiple blade changes.I deducted one star for the quality of the blade edges. In all cases, they were only ‘rough ground’, heavily ‘burred’ and not as sharp as needed to give uniform contact with the trim surface. I de-burred and honed each with 400 grit emery paper to give a more precise edge.
Cabinet remodel. Very sturdy handle and parts attach easy. This has worked very well with a heat gun that I am using at 700 degrees with no issues. Good product. Fast shipping

If you’re going to scrape cabinets, this is your tool. I like Hyde tools. This is a great scrapper. I’m through 17 drawers. Doors still to go. If you have a real wood kitchen and are going to repaint, take the time to do it right, strip, scrape, sand, prime, and then paint. This tool will help. It will help you get into all the curves. Whoever said you could use a credit card or a plastic scraper was delusional. I tried and it took 2 hours to do one drawer. The right tools make a stressful job easier. This is the right tool. Go slow.

Fabulous tool. Had a refinishing project with wood that a previous owner had whitewashed or pickled or whatever you want to call it. That stuff is near impossible to get off of wood without removing a Lot of material. when it comes to nooks and crannies and fiddley-bit areas this tool is The Very BEST! It is sharp as all getout. The blades attach firmly and come off easily. The variety of blade shapes is great too. The handle is easy on the hands.I actually had one and couldn’t find it, so we got another one. We did, of course, within days of delivery find the original. So now I have two. I’m not mad about it 😀
Perfect tool for restoration projects. Perfect tool with blades set. It helped me a lot with my entrance door restoration project.
