  1. Awesome vacuum. We have an above ground pool with a sand filter pump that uses salt to chlorinate the pool. First time we have used one and so far the difference in cleanliness is huge. We decided to get a new vacuum with better suction to make our lives easier. We ordered the pool blaster max which came without a pole. It is hand held and requires a charge to work. No issues with the charger. But only gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because it did not include a pole. The part that the pole attaches to on the vacuum is not standard either. It was bigger than the pole on our skimmer or previous vacuum. So we had to order the pole separately. Once the pole arrived we used it and couldn’t believe how much sand it sucked up! It was less than five minutes and the whole bag was filled. It was the fine sand that our other vacuum could not pick up. My husband was thrilled. We highly recommend this product! We also purchased replacement net bags specifically for fine dirt and sand. Worked perfectly!!!

Useless for Sand or Silt. I’ve had my vacuum for two seasons now. While it works well to pick up debris, it doesn’t have the capacity for sucking up sand or silt. In my case, I have a fair amount of Saharan sand, from the previous and current storms that have blown across the Atlantic, that I just can’t get out using this thing. Oh, it will suck it up just fine. But it blows it out of the water exhaust, because it’s so fine that the sock can’t contain it. I have to end up using my pool’s crummy hose set-up to do this. Which was the whole purpose of buying this vacuum. It’s good for actual debris, though. Just like the video for it shows. It’s a positive buy if debris is the worst of your problems.

  3. Decent Widget. Our home is in the Phoenix, AZ area and we experience Haboobs (dust storms). Our new pool was completed on July 1, 2023. The pool has an in floor popup cleaning system. While this sytem works well, it is incapable of removing the fine particles mainly because the finer particles get stuck in the low areas between the pebbles of the Pebble Tec flooring. The only way to remove the dust is to sweep the pool multiple times while the pool is running until you’ve stirred enough stuff up that it eventually gets sucked into the pool’s filter system. On that note, I purchased this vacuum to see if I can reduce the amount of time needed to remove the dust from the pool after a Haboob. I also purchased, on the reviews of other’s, the ultra fine filter liners. Firstly, the vacuum is simple to use. Honestly for me, the most difficult thing to on this product is plugging in the charger. It is oddly shaped and is a bit awkaward to get positively engagaed. The amount of suction created by the vacuum is enough to where the vaccum will stay engaged on the vertical walls. My pool/spa combo is ~15K gallons, and the battery lasted easily for its debut run while I didn’t notice any reduction in power for the roughly 15 minutes it ran.First impressions. I was shocked by the amount of debris that was captured in the filter bag. I didn’t even try to clean the fine filter liner bag. Five came in the package so I just pitched this one. The vacuum’s filters did a good job at trapping at what I would condsider >90% of the silt. As some reviews commented you can see the ultra fine silt being blown back into the water, but the amount removed versus the amount bypassed is heavily weighed on the removed side making the total efficiency worth it.Longevity is an unknown at this point in time. I did have an issue with a rectangular piece of plastic that resides in the “foot” of the vacuum popping out and being captured in the filter bag. I am not sure what its purpose is, but probably not going to do anything in the grand scheme of things. I see the “foot” as being a consumable, but there is no part# listed in the manual, which, could make this a pita at a later date. Also, the main filter needs to be cleaned after use. In my case the fine filter bag liner took the abuse. The main filter was easily cleaned with the spray feature in the kitchen sink.In the end, this vacuum will easily reduce the time needed to remove the junk blown into the pool post a Haboob. My first impressions are positive and at this point in time I would recommend this widget.

  4. This thing really works. I just had my pool deck redone. Old pavers taken out, sand shoveled up and carted away. A new bed of sand put down and new pavers installed, with much masonry sawing in near proximity to the water. They did a great job keeping as much silt and sand out of the pool as they could, but when they were done there was a bunch of it at each end of the pool. I read the reviews for the Pool Blaster and decided to give it a try. I used it this morning. It worked really well! The collection basket isn’t very large, but it was completely adequate. It is made of a porous material that has a fine filter woven in. So, unlike the pool vac that was used by my pool guy, the stuff that goes in stays in rather than all just floating out through the collection net, which really seems made of the same stuff that is in a skimmer basket. On the first pass it was completely filled with sand and silt. On the second pass it not only picked up the remaining sand but also a rock that was about 3/4” across and about 3/8” tall, so it really has quite decent suction. It’s perfect for what I wanted. Anything that seems stuck to the bottom can be brushed to the pile and easily picked up by the Blaster. The entire effort took about 15 minutes. In my pool everything collects at either end, so it’s not like I’m vacuuming the entire thing. If that were the case I might have given one of the robot vacs a try. But for what I’m using it for, I’m really happy with it.

  5. works with limitations. Mobile.Good suction power and even vacuums small sand particles. It has a flimsy rubber flapper valve that pops off easily and could be mistaken for a leaf and accidentally thrown away. The valve also gets stuck open by leaves/debris.
