It does the job, you get what you pay for. It works fine as a cheap shelf and the quality is similar to the stuff I find in Target for the same price. The only problem I have is the 40lbs rating is for Wood, Plaster, or Concrete walls. If you have drywall I do not suggest using the mounting screws it comes with. Go out and get your own. I tested it before installing and they easily pull out of drywall. You need 12 mounting screws rated for drywall and the weight is based on the mounting screw. The only sucky part is the screws I brought are silver so I had to use a sharpie to paint them black for now. If your curious how I tested them I put them into a trash piece of drywall I was going to toss and screwed in 4 screws (and plastic molly) that it came with and tied two weights to them (15lbs) and they began to pull out the wall slowly. I can’t imagine putting that much weight on the shelves as they are not that big but for safety reasons and I don’t want it to break my monitor that’s below it I tested it out. When I tested it using drywall anchors, rated at 10lbs each screw it did much better and held 40lbs. It literally warns you about drywall in the instructions if you read it but I didn’t see the warning when I was buying it. I didn’t take away a star because of that. I gave it 4 stars because there are no pre-drilled holes so you can mess it up if you are not being careful and the wood is sanded lightly but is still quite rough so if you wanted it to be smooth you might have to take a mouse sander to it and re-paint it. So again you get what you pay for and its definitely feels like 20 bucks, I wouldn’t pay more than that.
BUY THIS NOW. Comes with a stencil for easy hanging, has 3 options for the look, screws not noticeable and very sleek all together. I love how sturdy they are, they’re strong enough to be bookshelves and I don’t have to worry about them falling. Definitely recommend!!!
Looks great when installed, but wish the quality was better. Wish I could rate these higher. The overall design of these shelves are great, I love the versatility with how you can hang them (bookends, upright, floating). The problem is that it’s kind of a double-edged sword. The wood doesn’t come with pre-drilled holes to help guide you, so there’s larger room for error when putting the pieces together. My biggest complaint however is the quality of the wood. All three pieces came with zero finish, or at least it FEELS like there’s zero finish on them. They’re all rough pieces of wood that don’t feel sanded down at all, almost like balsa. The wood is probably this way to make it easier to install, all you need is a simple screwdriver to put everything together (you’ll need a drill for putting it on the wall though).I also followed the instructions of another commenter (Honest Teej) because I was mounting into drywall. I opted to buy my own drywall anchors (I got the 15lb limit ones) and used those instead of the ones provided. I can confirm the instructions DO specify that plaster walls will not hold weight as well as wood or concrete so PLEASE USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. Thankfully, I got these shelves for knickknacks and plastic figures, so weight is mostly a non-issue for my case. All the same, I recommend at least getting the mounts that are appropriate for your walls rather than taking a gamble with the ones provided.All in all, after mounting one of the shelves I am happy with my purchase but to an extent. I wish that the wood of the shelves were higher quality for what you’re paying (especially $40 at full price) but they still get the job done after some fiddling.
Smaller. Very much smaller than they appear and there’s three different sizes so buy two sets if you want two shelves of the same size.But they are durable and can hold some smaller items.
Might want to use a smaller drill bit. Look great and seem relatively sturdy. Supper easy to put together and install on your wall.One thing to note is that the directions tell you to use a 15/64th drill bit, but we chose to use a smaller 7/32th drill bit instead. After using the 7/32 bit, the wall anchors slid smoothy into place by hand with just enough resistance.

Nice. I really like these shelves. They were easy to put up and you can hang the brackets 3 different ways which is nice. They seem to hold a lot of weight. The look like they will last a while. They are just prefect for my son’s room for all stuff that he has. The screw size we did have some issues. They seem very sturdy and stable
Look good, easy to install. They are rather small, though. The headline mentions the size. This is listed in the product description, so it’s not really the fault of the shelves. However, for me – and this may be true of others as well – it’s hard to really visualize how they will look on the wall based on the dimensions .Just be aware, these look pretty small, almost miniature. They work for the space where I ended up using them, but they would have looked out of place where I was originally going to use them.

Good shelves for lightweight items. These are great for using in small spaces for items in your bathroom. The wood is a soft wood and definitely can not handle a large amount of weight. Screws could almost just be pressed in because it’s so soft. A hardwood would have been nicer, but great for decorative shelving to hold extra toilet paper or cosmetics.

Worth it if you’re a figure/doll collector. I ordered these shelves to display my figures and dolls, and I love the way they look! I ordered 2 sets of the 4 pack in black with black hardware. After looking at reviews, I took the jump and bought them and don’t regret it!TL;DR: Listing is accurate, don’t use the paper measurement thingy, quality is what you’d expect for the price, doesn’t come pre-drilled, easy enough to put together, over all worth it if you’re looking for smaller, decent quality, decent price shelves especially if you display figures or dolls.1. Listing: They are accurate to the measurements! They’re only 5.5 inches deep, so there isn’t much (if at all) any room for layering. They do feel small, but the listing is accurate!! Mine are paired next to each other to create a “longer” shelf. DO NOT use the paper measurement thingy. Another review mentioned it was un-even, and after holding it to mine, yeah, it was off. I’d highly recommend a stud finder, small leveler, and a white gel pen or marker to mark where to drill if you do.2. Assembling & Mounting: The shelves didn’t come with pre-drilled holes for the mounting options because it was easy enough to screw into. I will warn you that the small screws only came with a singular extra, so be careful about losing them in case it’s the same for you… I’d highly recommend doing this on a FLAT surface. I stood the shelves on the side that would be flat against the wall and set the brackets against it. I put one screw in on each side (both brackets have 1 screw to hold them where I want) then I laid it on its top and tightened and added the other screw. I may have done more work than needed, but none of mine are leaning forward or backward super far. I used the “load bearing” mount simply because I like the look but if you intend to put books, I would do the “no drop” design and possibly get some other L brackets for more support since books can get heavy. PLAN WHERE YOU WANT THE BRACKETS if you intend on doing the “load bearing” design or adding any more brackets.4. Quality: I kind of expected the wood to be a bit thicker/more sturdy feeling, but upon realizing they didn’t come pre-drilled, it made more sense. THEY CHIP AND SCRATCH EASILY. If you’re like me and don’t really care as long as you cant see/don’t notice it, then this isn’t any concern but they may come damaged cause some of our mail couriers aren’t the best. If you stick them in the corner like I did, please be careful about it slipping! I accidentally dropped the second one from a 21-inch TV stand after adding brackets, and the corner chipped (yes, I measured). The hardware is standard screw quality, and the brackets could be better. After reading the broken bracket reviews plus the price, I honestly wasn’t expecting much, but they aren’t too bad! You can always replace them with another one you like!5. Overall: I’d say these are worth the price and I see why “customers usually keep this item”! They were easy enough to mount, even if you aren’t the handiest man out there. I’d definitely recommend these if you’re looking to display anime figures or dolls like I do! They’re nice for adding vertical space without sticking out of the wall too much! Definitely good for smaller spaces! Fit up to 16 average size books. Nice shelves easy to put together did slightly chip when putting screws into wood plank. But no one can see that so not a huge deal. Holds multiple books perfectly haven’t had any issues. Worth the price for 4 shelves the biggest shelf fit up to 16 average size books on it. Looks to be a sticker of a wood on the planks but for the price no big deal unless you want it authentic.
Amazing, will be buying again. These shelves are amazing, I’ve bought these shelves twice now and they are prefect. Easy to install and very sturdy. I build alot of lego sets and I love these shelves for displaying my completed lego sets. They have 3 ways that you can install them so they work with however you would like to have them. I definitely recommend these shelves for an easy lovely space.The screw quality is great comes with the drywall anchors, and extra screws and anchors, so just incase extra is needed it’s there. The stability of the shelves are great! They do hold the weight it shows so you don’t have to worry about them falling. All in all definitions a nice buy in sure I’ll buy a 3rd set once my 2nd set is full of lego sets.
Great for anime figures and collectible displays. Great shelves for figures! They look great and match my desk, and they do feel pretty sturdy. I bought these because of another review that said they use them for theirs, and they were right! Installation went fine, the instructions are easy to understand. (Don’t mind the pencil marks used to level them on the wall lol) Overall I recommend these and if I get more stuff that need shelves then I’ll definitely order more.
