Excellent Wireless Headset Choice for both PS4/PS5 and Nintendo Switch. I’ve gone through exactly 3 headsets (The official Microsoft Xbox One headset, PlayStation Gold Wireless headset 2018, and a Razor headset) looking for a viable option that had both DECENT audio and mic quality, as all the headsets I’ve purchased have had build quality issues and terrible mic quality. I’ve given up on picking up a wireless headset as from what I’ve seen, are incredibly expensive. I saw the ad for the SteelSeries Arctic 1 headset and it seemed too good to be true (very cheap price for a wireless headset, and interchange between 3 consoles) and to my surprise, it lived up to pretty much all its claims. Wireless connectivity works seamlessly with its included dongle, and I have had zero dropouts or latency issues with it on both PS4 and Nintendo Switch. I originally purchased this headset primarily for the PS4, as I imagined wireless headsets were completely incompatible with the Nintendo Switch, but the headset does in-fact work effortlessly and all the buttons on the headset (Mic Mute On/Off, Volume Dial) work on both systems. Mic quality is excellent as well as audio quality, it’s perfectly balanced and not ridiculously skewed towards bass, and the volume can be raised very high on both consoles if you want. Battery life so far has also been great, it’s something I haven’t had to worry about when using and I only had to charge them once every week out of habit. The headset itself doesn’t feel flimsy and seems decently built, It’s pretty light and is surprisingly comfortable to wear, so much I use it also when I’m on my laptop. The only thing that slightly annoys me is that when I switch playing consoles and want to use the headset on it, I have to get up and unplug the headset dongle and connect it to the console I’m using (say, from the PS4 to the Nintendo Switch). This is pretty much a first world problem, but it’s something I’ve come across every once in a while.Overall I have to say I’m really loving this headset, if you were on the fence for this thing I really recommend you give it a try.UPDATE June 2020: It’s been 8 months since I’ve bought this headset, and I just wanted to report back that it has held up ROCK SOLID. This thing is by all means not flimsy, and the battery life has held up incredibly well. I’ve been gaming really long sessions, roughly 5-6 hours long each with friends online, and this thing just keeps going with no issues whatsoever. One of the few purchases I’ve made that I can say was absolutely worth it.FINAL UPDATE April 2021: Managed to get myself a PS5 and happy to say the headset works flawlessly with it. The new thing I love about the headset now is that the PS5 has a USB-C port in the front, which means you don’t have to use the included cable that comes with the headset dongle for USB-A, you can plug it directly to the PS5 and it sits flush and is almost unnoticeable.
Steelseries Arctis 1 ( Wireless ) 100% WORTH IT. Okay let me start off and say that this headset is TREMENDOUSLY GOOD. I been using Astros for years and i kinda got burnt out on it & i wanted to try something new and then i came across Steelseries Arctis 1 Wireless. I’ve heard about Steelseries for quite sometime but never really bothered getting a headset until now.Comfort 10/10 : Let me honestly say that this is the most comfortable headset i have ever wore in my entire life. I’ve been through Astro A40s, Astro A50s, Turtle Beach ( I don’t recommend btw ) , Somy headsets and this took me by surprise. For a $100!? It’s honestly amazing. The clamping force is really not bad. Doesn’t hurt your ears or anything when putting them on. Also the very soft leather material they use on the Ear Cups is the best i have felt.Durability 10/10 : Now you may think it looks like a very cheap plastic. I’m gonna let you know that it’s not. They use a very strong plastic & what makes this even better is the very strong reinforced steel they use on the headband which makes it very durable and flexible. This doesn’t mean you can just throw your headset because it’s that durable. As every other gaming headset just take them off gently and place them down gently to avoid any damage. Overall you don’t have to worry about this breaking on you unlike that cheap plastic that Turtle Beach use. If i can compare to another headset in terms of durability it would be Astros. It’s that good.Sound 10/10 : Boy oh Boy let me just say. When i first hooked these up i was SHOCKINGLY stunned how loud these were. It was to the point i legit had to turn them down a notch because it was that loud. You definitely get your bass, Low, Mids & Highs. You have very good directional sounds so you can hear enemy footsteps from behind, front, ledt & right perfectly well and you can also tell weather they’re up top or at the bottom. Overall the Sound Quality is top tier so don’t listen to the reviews of ppl saying it’s badNoise Cancellation 10/10 : Steelseries definitely nailed it on this one. When you put this on you cam barely hear anything in the background. There was times i had to take these off to actually hear what they’re saying. Probably one of the best i seen if you ask me.Mic Monitoring 10/10 : Now let me get this straight. Ppl said the mic was terrible but they’re wrong . Let me tell you that this Mic sounds very crisp and clear. As far as i stated before with the noise cancellation ppl can barely hear anything in your background with this mic. So if you got a PS4 that sounds like an AC130 taking off this will cover it 100% and i also love the fact it’s w Clearcast mic which is why it’s even better. You can also use the Steelseries EQ Engine to adjust any of these features above to your liking weather you wanna tweak the sounds or the mic etc so that’s a W for Steelseries.Overall Review : These are definitely worth $100. I recommend anyone to get this if you’re struggling to get a good headset especially the more expensive premium ones. Although this headset does feel very premium if you ask me. You won’t be disappointed with this product at all. By far my new favorite headset along with Astros.

These gaming headphones are great, I used one pair for 2+ years without any issues at all, I ended up dropping them one too many times and had to buy another after nearly 3 full years of use and funny enough I bought the exact same headset because of how impressed I was with the quality/experience.They’re very comfortable forgiving if dropped due to the lightweight and flexible build. Honestly, having the wireless option is so much better than anything else offered on the market, if you’re looking for a wireless gaming headset, look no further.

Almost a home run. I’ve always been pleased with Steel Series headphones and the Arctis 1 wireless is another great example of why I continue to buy their products. The feel and fitment on the head is very good. After 4-6 hours, there’s no discomfort. Lots of room in the ear cups with a good amount of padding.I use mine for gaming on the ps5. The battery life seems to be close enough to what they advertise. First time use was as simple as plugging the included dongle into the front of the ps5 and turning on the headphones. The sound quality is good and very well balanced. It’s loud enough that I normally turn it down to around 60-70% volume. Didn’t distort at max volume as well. It comes with 3 cables: A micro usb, usb-c to usb extension for the included dongle, and a 3.5 mm audio cable for headphone jacks.Cons:-The micro usb charging port is very inconvenient and outdated.-The ear cups are fabric and will be harder to clean.-To turn the headphones on and off require you to press and hold the power button for several seconds each time. A simple switch would have been better.-The overall style and design is kinda dull and nothing to write home about.Overall, I’m satisfied with these headphones. If you want a no nonsense pair of headphones that are reliable and get the job done, these are worth considering.
Pretty good. I’ve had these headphones for about 2 years now and they are still going strong. Mic quality is good. No echo or voice sounding scratchy. My biggest issue is these headphones are QUIET. I have the volume knob all the way up and my party up to 200% volume and they are still kinda quiet. The biggest issue is the fact every single time you turn on your Xbox you have to get up unplug the dongle and plug it back in for the headset to actually connect. It’s really really annoying. I’ve tried every YouTube/Google “fix” I could find and still no luck. Even if you turn your headset off and the Xbox is still on you have to get up and unplug replug. Definitely would recommend just saving just a bit more and buying the 7x as you can adjust party to game settings and overall volume control. This set you can only control the individual volume of people in your party and have to physically go into the game settings of every single game to turn down the master volume so you can hear your party. If you don’t care about that stuff and just want a wireless headset. Don’t look anymore Steelseries is the best.
Good value headset. I’ve had these for 4 months and I’m very happy with them for gaming. The sound is a bit base-heavy out of the box but the downloadable SteelSeries GG Sonar software allows you to adjust the levels to your liking. I bought my daughter a pair as well, so I have been able to hear what the mic sounds like from the other end. I’ve also been able to hear what the mic sounds like after playing with a streamer several times and watching the playback. The mic sound is clear and you can adjust that also from the software. I recharge them after each day’s use and haven’t seen them get below 50 percent power. They’re pretty comfortable and not particularly hot for me, considering I live in Florida and keep my house fairly warm in the summer. My only real complaint is that after each of the frequent updates to the GG software I often have to adjust certain settings back to where I had them. Overall, for the current sub $70 price, I doubt if you can get a better value for a basic wireless gaming headset.
So far so good. All of my gaming headsets were starting to get shabby. I thought it was time to get something new and upgrade at the same time. So far, I’m very pleased with this purchase. They do exactly everything I was hoping for. I’ve done some small range tests and the signal hasn’t dropped yet. I’m not sure how far I can go with them. Do I have to leave the house and go into the street? I don’t know? In other words, it feels really good to not be tethered to my desktop computer and stay connected to my audio.I haven’t properly tested latency. It will interesting to see how quickly they send the response from my digital piano. If there is a delay in pressing keys on my piano, it will immediately affect how I play. In other words, I will notice it instantly and I will not be inclined to use these for when I am writing music. That would be a bummer. Verdict is still out on that one! But, for gaming and watching videos, these have been a delight. If that’s all the more I can expect to get out of these without an alternate solution for my music production needs, then I will still be satisfied.I’d like to say I will remember to come back to adjust my review after doing this, but I probably won’t. I’ll try to remember!
great. i can walk anywhere in my house and this thing stays wireless which is great only acts up when i get out the door the only thing not great is the headset microphone i use a usb one so it dosent really matter to me as much but battery life is good not great could be better wish it would charge through usb c and wish there was bluetooth for my phone but u get what u pay for and u can use software for diff audio expeirince but for gaming its not needed and great without it for music i see how it can be useful but i dont like the sounds when i use software so i just keep it off. if theres 1 like this with bluetooth let me know.
These headphones are great for gaming as you have the mic but if you just want to use the headphones just pull out the detachable microphone, they have noise cancellation which is good the only thing wrong with that is you have to shout louder for your children to hear you 🤯
This headset LASTS. I’m seriously impressed. I purchased the SteelSeries Arctis 1 headset in May of 2022. It’s over 2 years and I’ve put these through A LOT. I’ve finally decided to write a review because I’m impressed!1. Battery life: I sleep in them. Most days they’re probably turned on at least 12 hours and often upwards of 18 hours. I’ve let them die completely many many times. I also over charged them many times. The battery life on this headset is OUTSTANDING. If I let them charge up fully (well beyond the light turning green), they will last 12 or more hours even after the 2 years of the abuse I’ve put the battery through. Yes, I have to charge them a little more often than I did when I first got them, but that only equates to once a day. When I’m traveling or my usage is lower, I charge them once every 2-4 days.2. Durability: Did I mention I sleep in these? I also sleep on my side quite a lot (idk how, it just works for me). They’re structurally sound. I bend the headband a little tighter ever couple months. Only now am I starting to see the padding on the headband start to flake off a little. There’s no issues with the connection between the left and right, nothing has shorted out. The mute switch and microphone still work. The charging light still works. The volume wheel might be slightly looser but still works as expected.3. Sound quality: as with any over-ear headset the sound quality isn’t as great as earbuds which is what I used exclusively before I got this set. I remember it not being as good as what I was used to. However, it has not deteriorated AT ALL over time. They sound the same as the day I got them. The beeping noise that it makes when the headset is dying has gotten quieter over time, which I love because it no longer wakes me up if it starts beeping in the middle of the night.4. Design: Pretty standard design with a few improvements. I love that if I’m trying to plug the cord in while it’s on my head or in the dark, it’s pretty easy. They designed it so the cord just goes into the port in the most obvious spot. I haven’t had such success on my work headsets in the past. I also like how the earpieces swivel. I have often put it on with one hand.5. Fit: I’m a 5’3″ female. Honestly, they’re a tiny bit big for me. Yah, they’re a little loose but that’s only a problem rarely. My BF has the same pair (due to my influence). He’s 6’2″ and they’re a little small for him. He uses them for gaming and switches to earbuds for everything else.6. Mic: I don’t usually have the mic in. I only use it for gaming in groups which is typically a couple nights a week. I just leave it live and haven’t had complaints from my (unabashedly honest) friends. They’ve also said that the sound quality is better than what I had before (which was an old apple earbud mic). It does pick up my BF if we’re in the same room, but that’s probably more of an issue with the settings in discord.Overall, great headset. It has exceeded my expectations (especially after using the crappy Jabra wireless headsets at work. The Jabra headset seems to go on and off even when my work PC is in the lock screen and isn’t in use. I use a mac outside of work. When my mac is off, the headset shuts off after a couple minutes and doesn’t come back on; off is off.

This my second time buying it because I’m very good at games(if you know you know) but it’s very good at hearing for those little crouch walkers that think their sneaky, and the surround sound of hearing complete everything like you got ultra instincts. Headset so good you’ll think you in the pro league trust me
