UPDATE: I’m bumping-up the STAR rating to 4 from 3 [the net is holding up better than expected]. UPDATE: [11/14/2024]So, I’m almost 18 months into owning this Sepetrel Net and I’ve been pleasantly surprised at its durability. In my original review I expressed concern that the net’s construction did not inspire confidence. Sometimes it’s nice to be wrong. I still think this net is on the smaller side, but it works and has held up to regular use in a 25,000 gallon pool with an 11′ deep end. I just wanted to be fair here and give credit for good quality where it is due. As I’ve said, it has gotten me by. My plan is to eventually purchase the ProTuff line of pool-cleaning equipment, which is incredibly well-made (my brother owns a set) and comes with a lifetime warranty and unlimited free replacements for things that break or wear-out. The ProTuff stuff is considerably more expensive, so I’ve gotten by with the much more affordable Sepetrel items. If you’re budget conscious and not made-of-money, the Sepetrel line is good quality for a fair price (at least that has been my experience over nearly a year-and-a-half).ORIGINAL REVIEW:I bought both the brush and the net, but I am reviewing them separately. I’ll review the net here. Like the brush, it’s considerably smaller than I expected. It’s my fault for not looking closely at the measurements of the net before I bought it. You snooze, you lose…The construction of the net doesn’t inspire a great deal of confidence, but only time will tell. Most nets have a metal frame with the net fastened to the frame with rivets and a plastic or polymer frame rim cover. This one appears to be solid plastic or polymer, though it is possible that it has a wire or metal reinforcement of some kind embedded in it. Can’t tell right now. The net itself seems is single-ply like most nets and the material seems similar to others. The net looks like it is hot-melted into the plastic frame and if it is I have no idea how that’s going to hold up over time compared to regular pool nets. I’m concerned about abrasion resistance and how exposure to chlorine and other pool chemicals may affect the net. I won’t know until I use it for awhile, so I will and then I’ll update this review down the line.Altogether, with the smaller size of the net and the questionable construction of it, it’s hard to be too happy about buying it. But my old net was worn out, so I’ll see how this one does while I look for a high-quality, durable, reasonably-priced full-size pool net. This one definitely isn’t that…

The Best Net Ever. (Okay, there may be better nets out there, but they are probably more expensive.)I know it’s weird to be super excited about a pool net, but here we are. I love this net! We have had a small above-ground pool for 6 years, and I have had to buy a new net at least once a year to replace broken/crappy/ineffective ones. The best one we had before this was the similar-looking (but far inferior) blue one with the plastic edge. If you are trying to decide between getting that one or spending a few more dollars on this, buy this. Just do it. It is so worth the extra money. The rubber edge is actually effective in getting those little leaf particles off the bottom of the pool without damaging it (yes, we idiotically put our pool too near a large tree & constantly have leaves falling into it). The netting is fine enough to catch almost everything, and the weighted end is so useful. It is superior to those plastic blue ones in every way.
I don’t have to touch the nasty net. This thing is AMAZING! It gets even the smallest bugs out of the pool. Works perfect for leaves and debris that hit the bottom. AND THEN, it has a rubber piece to hold while dumping it so I don’t have to touch the nasty bugs. The only slight issue is that I did not buy the pole for this. The hubs had to make a slight adjustment to the pole we had for this to fit it. If that is my only complaint, I am one thrilled customer. If you need a pool net, but this one!
So far, so great. Bought for use in our small pool cleaning business. First time using was with a super nasty, sludge filled pool cleaning. This held up great and was great for use in an above ground pool. Protected the liner and held a ton of weight in the bag without any damage. Provided it continues to prove to be a workhorse, we’ll be buying more of these as our business grows!
Netting need to be a bit tighter. Overall seems good but small particulate in your pool (like knats) will go through the webbing.
Just what I needed. This has been a lifesaver or leafsaver for me. We have a lot of windy days in TX and just about every leaf within a one mile radius ends up in our pool so this has help me get the leaves before they sink to the bottom and then overwork our pool cleaner. A must have!
A well constructed pool net at a reasonable price. First, the main issue w/ pool cleaning nets is durability – usually the mesh net fails (gets holes) &/or the scooping edge fails (pieces wear or break off). It seems they all fail one way or the other in a couple of years; so why pay $40 if you can get one for $19 that works as well and last the same length of time. The Sepetrel net has the following attributes:1. The front lip is 17″ – width, this is important for big pools. The wider the mouth the faster it is to do the cleaning;2. The front lip (scoop edge) is beveled and well constructed. Cleaning a plaster bottom pool is tough on nets – the sturdier the leading edge is the better;3. The mesh netting has good porosity – the holes are small enough to pick up most debris (bugs are tough, so I use a small tighter net for that when necessary), but the holes large enough to give rapid water drainage for faster cleaning;4. The netting appears to be made of strong material which = longevity. I will have more on “durability” in a few months;5. The net fits a standard pole perfectly and is lighter than most – important when you are extended out 10-12 feet;6. The net depth is 16″ which gives good capacity in a single pass – too shallow requires more frequent dumping and too deep can made the load of debris (leafs, sticks, etc) to heavy;7. The price at $17 w/ free shipping and returns is a good value.
Works well at getting stuff off the bottom. The shape of the leading edge of this net does a great job of funneling things into the net. The first one of these nets lasted me 2 years before the plastic started to degrade. Not bad durability for the price.
Good quality for price. Good for the price. Not as nice or sturdy as one I had from chain pool store. That being said, I would buy again
Love the scoop. I love the scoop edge on this skimmer that allows me to scoop up debris from the bottom of the pool right into the net. Extra large capacity with a mesh that’s perfect for large debris, yet fine enough to still allow me to pick up dead bugs and mosquitoes from the surface of the pool. Sturdy and robust, I Highly recommend.
Net for pool. This net is great very good quality made cleaning up the pool much easier
Durable, useful, inexpensive. This pool debris skimmer net has been in use for approximately 9 months at a HOA pool. It has held up under heavy daily use. The size is right and it has been very durable.

Great Producct. Arrived quickly, fit my current pool pole perfectly. The skimmer basket is large and can remove a significant amount of debris. Great price also!
It works. Sturdy and does it job.
Durable and WORKS GREAT. The weight on the net and design helps in clean up of the surface as well as fetching leaves from the bottom of the pool.

The VERY BEST leaf skimmer Ever. This skimmer takes turns work into joy after struggling for 40 years, using myriad inferior skimmers, to maintain a very large pool surrounded by most unsuitable trees: golden locust, oaks, liquid amber, spruce, black walnut and privet. The joy and appreciation is greater than that which I feel when starting the dishwasher after having spent even longer years bending over the kitchen sink. The reason? This skimmer’s frame is constructed of a soft rubber that seems to grab the pool’s plaster and tiles. It doesn’t bounce as you push to lift up the detritus on the bottom and the leaves caught along the pool edge, but moves smoothly with little effort. The flap at the bottom and, perhaps the nature of the net itself, keep the leaves from backwashing out while you noodle around in the deep. It’s also much more efficient at surface skimming — what goes in, doesn’t come out, which could hardly be said of other skimmers we’ve had. I think the special design of the rim may account for these virtues. The netting is super sturdy and up to dealing with the prickly live oak leaves, as well as large loads of wet leaves ( estimate close to a cubic foot, maybe five pounds in peak season). Bottom line, I would give up the dishwasher before giving up this skimmer. I think it will last for at least ten years, but just in case, my next move is to order a backup while it’s still available an at a goog price.
Leaf net. Purchased this leaf net. My old one is probably four years old finally started getting a few holes in it. This one came with fast shipping and it works great.
