Great Product at a reasonable price. This product is an excellent choice for pool maintenance. It’s much better than shock with stabilizer, in my opinion. Here’s why:- Using shock with stabilizer in it for extended periods will cause your cyanuric acid levels to rise above limits and leave your chlorine ineffective (useless, if high enough).- Calcium Hypochlorite is a better product than stabilized chlorine, and it’s normally much more expensive than stabilized chlorine. It’s only cheaper now because resellers bought out the stabilized shock and are now reselling it to you at a significant profit)- To use Calcium Hypochlorite, just stabilize your pool with cyanuric acid (available on Amazon). Once you reach the desired PPM (parts per million), you won’t have to add any more. It does not evaporate (which, btw, is the problem with stabilized shock … you keep putting in more cyanuric acid every time you shock).- Important: get your PH up to 7.4 (7.2 – 7.6), and keep it there, and your algae problems will diminish significantly.- Also, treat your pool with algaecide to keep algae from growing. Shock will kill algae, but its purpose is to kill harmful bacteria. Algae is just annoying
Best price but a little less active chemical. Earlier this year I bought in the swim calcium hypochlorite, which is about 72%. This product is at 68% but a better deal if you purchased a pack of 24.The packaging is a little weak as two of the 24 were leaking in the box, and it looks like a bad hermetic seal to me.However, other than that, the strength seems to work very well and once you have your chlorine registering even a little bit just 1 pound of shock brought my 23,000 gallon pool up above the 1 to 3 range recommended. That is, unless you’re adding other chemicals at the same time that might bind up that chlorine produced. I would buy this product again for the price it was sold at.
Great pool shock. Great shock at the best price you can find. Great for regular maintenance or clearing up an algae bloom. We opened the pool at our new house and found a dark green pond under the cover. Used 18 pounds of this for the 35,000 gallon pool and it was blue in less than two days.
Works As Well As Pool Store Shock. The longer you own a swimming pool, the more you learn that the markup at swimming pool shops is positively outrageous. They want to sell you all sorts of chemicals (which I admit are necessary in many cases). But their markup is crazy. Several years ago, a pool tech told me to shop around and you can find chemicals that are just as good as the shop variety but at a fraction of the cost. My first time buying DryTec Calcium Hypochlorite Chlorine Shock was at a overstocked retail store. I used it and it worked just as good as the pool store’s “exclusive” brand. Plus the DryTec was 1/3 the cost of the pool store brand. Side-by-side analysis of the pool water chemistry was the same as the pool store’s shock. So why pay a fortune for store brand pool shock when you can find it at a much better deal through Amazon? Plus when I ordered it through Amazon, I got free shipping to my front door. I’ve been using DryTec for three years and it has not disappointed me whatsoever. Give your wallet a break with this brand.
Easy to use and good chlorinator. I bought this to try as I previously used a shcok that was 73% calcium hypochlorite. This being less but was on sale and so decided to try. For the price this is great. I did not notice any difference in water clarity or sanitation. I bought the 24 pack. For the price and since I have a 25,000 gallon pool and use 2-3 per week thtis was a great find. Definitely will buy again.
It works well. Chlorine, along with proper chemical balance is key to a clean pool. Take the time to dissolve this shock in water first and then add to pool. It works well. Most complaints for this products are due to adding directly to pool.
For the price this is an excellent product. I really like this pool shock, it is every bit as good as the Leslie’s product and half the price. The granules dissolve quickly and the chlorine levels work well in targeting bacterial growth. The only complaint I have is that the bags will melt together, if stored in very high heat areas. I have a large plastic storage bin, that is located in direct sunlight, that I store my pool chemicals in, and the shock bags will melt in the summer months. Not really a huge issue, as I just store the bags in the garage now and they are fine, but I wanted to let others know about this minor issue.
Best pool shock. This is the second year in a row that we only use DryTec pool shock. It works perfect. Our pool is clean. We have a 35,000 gallon chlorine pool and we use 3 bags a week. Other pool shock increased our CYA levels and made our pool chemistry off. Not DryTec. And it’s a great price on Amazon!
Keeps chlorine levels up well. This product keeps the chlorine levels up very well. It doesn’t seem to dissolve as quickly as some of the other more expensive brands but it’s worth the price difference.
Crystal-Clear Results. I recently tried DryTec 1-1901-24 Calcium Hypochlorite Pool Shock for my swimming pool and was quite impressed with the results. This pool shock effectively eliminated algae and bacteria, restoring the water to a crystal-clear state. The fast-dissolving granules made application quick and easy, and I noticed a significant improvement in water clarity shortly after treatment.I also appreciated the product’s ability to maintain the chlorine levels in my pool, ensuring that the water remained safe and hygienic for swimming. The shock’s long shelf life allowed me to store it for extended periods without worrying about its efficacy diminishing over time.Overall, I found DryTec 1-1901-24 Calcium Hypochlorite Pool Shock to be a dependable and effective solution for pool maintenance. It provided the sanitizing power my pool needed, and I would certainly recommend it to other pool owners looking for a reliable pool shock treatment.
great price now. Ordered this for next season. great price. 2nd order of this product.
Has worked well for me. This shock has worked well in our pool and it is a good buy, especially when you can catch it on sale for less than $100 for a pack of 24.

Wonderful product. I use this every 10 days in my salt pool and it does an excellent job. I do not pre-mix. I dump in the deep end, then get my brush. Sometime I drop the robot in. By the time it has cleaned the pool, all of the product is thoroughly dissolved!
Great product. Works great and convenient.
