Not sure how accurate this is. After we filled our pool, I needed to get my chemicals right. I bought this because my drop-test kit only shows chlorine and Ph levels. The Ph showed very high and the chlorine very low on the drop-test kit. When Ph is high, the pool won’t accept chlorine. These test strips show a lot more, like alkalinity and such. Except, the Ph color is ALWAYS dark red, no matter how much muriatic acid I throw in the pool. However, my drop-test kit shows that the Ph level is now great. So, I use my drop-test kit to test my chlorine and Ph and use this for the other values. I really wanted a test kit that did it all.
Most accurate. These strips seem to be more accurate than others I’ve tried. Last sample I took in for analysis I told the pool store my ph is 7.4 their test showed exactly 7.4. Follow the directions of 2 second dip, light shake, and read results at 30 seconds. Pool is crystal clear and levels are always perfect when I take a sample in. My only gripe is the cya is reading 0 on these and my samples to the pool store say 35 and I get similar reading on a different brand test strip of 30-35
It works. It’s nice because it has the color coordination on on the bottle. I bought one that you had to download an app to get the readings.
Salt Water – Simple, effective(ish), and easy. I have a small 18′ above-ground salt water pool, and although it came with test strips, they were USELESS. So I was told test strips for salt pools are not accurate, but after reading the reviews, I figured I would give it a try. I had other devices to test my water but I wanted something quick and easy to use to give me a “feel” of where my water readings were. These actually did rather well although there were a few readings off that could have been better but it did help me maintain the levels across the pool a bit easier. Simple dip for a couple seconds and wait a bit for the strips to turn. Match it up with the bottle and run from there. It beats chemicals and lots of tools but same time it doesn’t exactly replace those items either for accuracy.Would I buy them again? Yes!
Way cheaper than buying local, good accuracy. Product is just what you’d expect, a bottle with a lot of test strips in it. Accuracy compared to my drop-based test kit is dead on, and I compared it once to the pool store’s professional test and it matched up well. Like most test strips, the color difference is subtle in the 7.6-7.9 pH range. Price per test is way way below buying local, even compared to the cheap Clorox ones.
Great product, great price. These strips are very easy to use and the results are easy, straightforward to read. You do have to work very quickly for accurate results but after using them a few times you’ll get a routine down and have no issues. They offer a free ebook/manual that provides very detailed instructions as well as descriptions of each chemical, the dangers of having too little/too much of it in your pool/spa and how to correct & maintain proper levels. You’re able to print this ebook right from their website as a PDF.Ordered these strips after clearing up algae that left us with insane cloudiness afterwards that we couldn’t clear no matter what we tried. Spent a few hundred dollars at our local pool store on all their recommended chemicals that didn’t work. Took in multiple water samples for them to tell us everything was perfectly within normal range but “here use this, it’ll clear ya right up”. These strips immediately showed us our chlorine & bromine levels were off the charts too high, alkalinity way too low. Once correcting those levels we’re slowly getting back to crystal clear water. I highly recommend these strips, we’ve added these as a product to purchase yearly for our very short Northeast Ohio pool seasons.
As good as test strips can be. Test strips aren’t 100% accurate but these are pretty good.
These work great – easy to read results. These strips work great. They are very easy to use and read results.
Final I think I have a good one. So I’ve been trying different test strips to find one that works. I think I might have found it from others that said I had high chlorine when I actually had none or pH that was way off that was actually correct the same story about alkalinity or didn’t even read the total chlorine. This one seems to read it all correctly (or at least close for a test strips) The photo above shows the test strip after being dipped in a glass of tapwater.
