Keeps the sand out. I love being at the beach and being in the water. I do not like stepping on all the rocks and seaweed etc. that are in the water. So I began a search on water shoes that would be protective and yet not make my feet feel hot or overly constrained.PROSI have wide feet and these still allow for great wiggle room.I usually wear a size 6 shoe. This size was slightly large, but I think that the smaller size would’ve been too snug.The solid bottom is very protective (saved me from getting a push pin in my foot just the other day) while also being flexible. The sole is more like a ballet flat.The opening is perfectly snug to keep out the sand while swimming but not so snug that it leaves a mark.The material is lightweight so my feet stay cool even on hot days.The removable insert is held firmly in place by little nubs located on the sole of the shoe.CONSThe lining on the insert is already peeling off after only 6 uses.Must remove lining in order for the shoes to dry between uses.These water shoes definitely fit the bill. They are so comfortable without being overly fitted. The insert has a nice bit of cushioning without being chunky. I haven’t had any sand get into the shoes at all. Next best thing to being barefoot. These would definitely have a 5 star review if the lining of the insert was holding up better.
Adequate shoes to wear at the beach, around pools, or round the house – nothing extra. These are fine little water slippers for the price. Think of them as thick nylon socks more than shoes.If for ocean use, these aren’t really sturdy enough but for wearing at pools and in dodgy showers, they’re fine. Soft enough to wear round the house instead of slippers – with a bit more traction.They have NO arch support whatever. I did glue in a half support and feels much better. Depending on the support you get, a half size more would be recommended.A note on sizing – for these or other shoes: You can, with limits, adjust width by length.If you’re a true 10 D (US sizes- the rest of you get in line) but are an E (wide) you can accommodate the extra width by going to a 10 1/2 D. A double E, to an 11D.Beyond that, the extra length starts affecting other fit issues in dress shoes- not so much in casuals.I sometimes see Womens slaps that I like, and get them — in Ladies 12. I imagine the reverse would also work.
Worked as expected. My first time using shoes like these for the beach. I bought this pair and another pair in a different style from another company on Amazon. I am satisfied with both purchases. I have used this pair for over a year and they have held up. I am glad I purchased them. The fit seems true to size. It’s a water shoe so it has no arch support. It’s very easy to clean the sand off after being on the beach. They are lightweight and foldable which made them easy to pack in my suitcase. If your foot is on the wider side; I would suggest going up a size since the shoes do not come in half sizes. I have only hand washed these shoes with woolite or laundry detergent and lay flat to air dry. They have held their color and shape for me this way. Great pair of shoes and great price if you needing water shoes.
2nd pair I’ve purchased. I’ve used 1st pair all season at the pool and beach. I’ve worn them a lot on concrete, rocks, sand, wet grass… they are showing signs of wear as shown in pics. I got this pair as back up, but 1st pair is still very wearable. When I first put them on I loved how comfortable they were. They protect soles of feet very well in many situations. I usually wear a 9.5 size shoe and these 9-10 size are perfect for me. My feet are narrow and the hug of these keeps them on very well. The soles are thick enough to protect from gravel and hot cement. The rubbery sole is great for non-slip in locker rooms. Now I’m ready for next year!
Slips on like a sock. These are form fitting, just like a sock. Except they have a thin firm bottom. It’s just enough to create a thin barrier to keep the yuckies off your feet. I really don’t like anything slimy touching my feet! But lakes in Maine can sometimes have icky parts on the bottom of a lake where twigs/leaves have fallen to the bottom have had time to collect slimy stuff. So they aren’t going to protect against sharp rocks very well because the bottom sole is very thin, but it will keep your feet from feeling the slimy ickies at the bottom of a swimming hole!If you are expected some rocks or anything sharp/pokey, go with something with a more substantial sole. But if it’s really just a slimy texture you are looking to avoid touching, these will do the trick and are very light weight.
