DOUBLE WOW. I am facing thumb surgery on my dominant (right) hand which will place it out of commission for a number of months. I won’t be able to chop onions, crack an egg (what a mess that is !) or even cut my own meat once it is plated. Since I have several health issues that I am controlling by diet and I can’t just go out and buy a TV dinner, I realized that vacuum sealing was my best long term solution.I looked at several vacuum sealers and realized none is compatible with the others. The more expensive models had features I did not need–like storage for the rolls of bags. That made storage of the vacuum sealer harder for me since I live in an efficiency apartment and space is at a premium. As to the bag cutter, for the price I can cut my own, even if it isn’t that straight or wastes some of the bag (so what did the cutting gizmo really cost?)I looked at Mueller. Smaller unit. Simple to handle with a few nice options. And the best part–for lucky me!–was the $20 discount at check out. When I got it, the instructions were straightforward. I figured the first roll would be my sacrifice to the vacuum gods but I was merrily working on my food dilemma. That was WOW #1.In a few weeks I noticed an area of the sealer bar–that gets very hot to seal the open ends of the bags–had a spot developing. The unit continued to function okay. Then I noticed the bag seal line had a flaw, exactly where the spot was on the sealer bar. It even seemed to melt the bag quite oddly. I scratched at the bar and realized the bar must contain a ‘hot spot’. By then I was afraid the bags would develop a hole and the vacuum seal would fail, causing me to lose the long-term food storage time I need. I checked my purchase date and saw that I was beyond the 30 return limit. Drat.I immediately found the Mueller website and emailed them about my dilemma late at night. In less than 24 hours I had a response with an offer to replace my unit. Within a week of me first contacting Mueller, I have my new unit!WOW #2So the product, the service and the concern all rate 5+stars in my book. Now I can vacuum bag the breakfast casserole I made last night (7 of the 8 portions since I ate one, heh-heh, which also saves me from messing up a bunch of eggs next month). For a basic, well priced and easy to use product, go Mueller. I sure appreciate their product and service. And a bonus for me–I now know it’s not vaccuum, but just plain VACUUM!

Works well, but the lid is difficult to shut securely. I did a lot of shopping around before settling on this vacuum sealer. I waited until it was on sale and bought this for around $50. I think it’s worth about that much. I don’t know that it’s worth the current asking price of around $70.This sealer is easy to use. Someone who has never used a vacuum sealer before will be able to take this out of the box and start using it in about 5-10 minutes. The buttons are fairly self-explanatory, although the instruction book provides more in-depth descriptions of what each one is for. One thing to note, however, is that the buttons are not standard buttons, it’s more like a touchscreen. You just tap them, don’t push them. The bags and the roll that come with the sealer are easy to use and seal well. Both of them are on the thinner side and I use thicker bags for my typical needs. This sealer does work well with other brands of sealing bags. I initially had some concerns, but it works well with both 8 inch and 11 inch bags of various thicknesses. I used 11 inch wide 10C thick bags with this sealer and it did a great job with both vacuuming and sealing. The 11 inch wide bags are a little more difficult to line up in the sealing channel. The channel only allows for a maximum of 11 inches so you have to be sure to line it up correctly and be sure it doesn’t move as you are shutting the lid. I’ve attached photos comparing an 8 inch roll and an 11 inch roll.Unfortunately, shutting the lid is hard and takes two hands. There is no way around it. Someone with limited arm strength or disabilities that affect muscle or coordination will most likely not be able to use this sealer. I have no way of knowing, but I suspect that many of the complaints about failed “vac and seal” with this machine, are due to people being unable to securely shut the lid.Overall, I think that this sealer is a good choice for a lot of households who have limited space, limited funds, and will only use a vacuum sealer occasionally.

Read the instructions and you’ll have no problem. Light weight and easy to use. The suction power is good and the process is quick. I’ve ordered new generic bags from Amazon – the unit takes bags up to 11 inches (27.94 cm) wide. I’m very happy with it.

1st DAY RESULTS? OUTSTANDING. got my unit today after hemming & hawing for months over which sealer to buy. finally settled on this one as Mueller is a great name, this model was well reviewed by tech sites, & although some in the comments were not impressed with what they received, I sure am (at this moment)!(1st though.. the freakin safety seal on the box was already cut. OH NO i thought to myself… they sent me a return! but after unpacking, its clear it is a brand new unit with all (the few) accessories it comes with. ok, over that. now to test!1.5lb block of pepperjack cheese in one of THEIR bags. hit the button. sucks, seals, satisfied. there is NO air left in that bag. COOL!pulled out a brand new roll of foodsaver bags (i had one leftover after my behemoth foodsaver machine died after 4+ heavy yrs of use. that machine was $225 & shouldve lasted longer! thats when i decided to lower my price point as that was my 2nd fsaver brand that died on me!).so cut a bag off of THAT fs roll & pulled out a 2# chunk of jarlsberg. sealed fine. loaded, pressed button… uh oh! i could already see that although it came close, it did not pull all the air out! crap! the fsaver bags dont work! 😱 after thinking & breathing for a sec, & taking into consideration the bags were more than 10 years old & it was the 1st one… maybe a tiny hole had been poked in it thru the years? lets try another one. so cut a new one, sealed, loaded again, pressed button. VOILA! the bag worked perfectly! that chunk of jarlsberg is suffocating from the lack of oxygen in that bag! YES! suffer, you semi-soft hunk of deliciousness!from there i broke down todays Restaurant Deport haul instacart dropped off… 5# block of mozz, 10# of angus ground beef & 5# of pepperoni.broken down, thats…5 bags of mozz at 1# each.6 bags of the beef at 1# ea & 2 bags with 2# ea.5 bags of pepperoni at 1# ea.ALL BAGS ARE SEALED TIGHT & PUT UP IN THE FREEZER/FRIDGE. my new buddy had no problems handling the tasks, completely sealing each bag from the 1st to the 18th with no suction loss or wasted bags. YEAH BABY! 😃the unit itself is small, but not too small to be ‘cheap’ or ineffective.its light, but not TOO light so no sliding (my last foodsaver weighed a TON & was a HUGE piece of machinery!).the LED display panel is bright & easy to use.& yes, you DO have to press down with a good amount of pressure after loading up a new bag to lock the unit & start the vac, but its NOT nearly as dramatic as some have complained about here! just push!! doing one side at a time makes it simpler… easy peasy!its half as loud as my last foodsaver machine (heck, that machine was deafening!). very surprised. its NOT quiet, but its NOT obnoxious either!vac seals just as quick as my fsaver did & i see no difference in the results! ALL FOR $30?! DEAL!!!!a nice & needed bonus is Mueller’s air hose fits my old foodsaver wide mouth mason jar sealer!!! that accessory WAS a necessity! tested that out with a few marshmallows in a 1/2 gallon mason jar. sealed SO tight my marshmallows filled the huge jar, & it actually pulled apart the fsaver jar sealer when i went to take it off the jar (luckily it does come apart to clean apparently (NEVER knew that!) so it just snapped back together (ill remove it a little differently next time). the seal on the mason jar is SO TIGHT! PERFECT!!SO, on day 1 after some good usage, i can easily say i am VERY satisfied with this unit, its capabilities, its performance & most of all its PRICE! now to see how long it keeps on chugging… will update if I run into any problems.MY 5⭐ OPINION? BUY IT WHILE ITS ON SALE!!(1st UPDATE: still going strong, but there is ONE thing that annoys the living heck out of me… no auto-turn off!! no power switch!! want to turn it off? cant do it. so ya gotta unplug it every time! (not always convenient!)It is stunning to me that in 2023, with the rising cost of electricity, a company of Mueller’s size (& rep) to leave off what is probably a $5 part that would conserve energy is absolutely inexcusable!! still love the machine, but WHAT A MAJOR SCREW UP BY MUELLER! SHAME ON THEM!)
Decent for the price, but I’ve broken 2 now. This sealer worked decent enough. The included bags were nice, but I went for a more economical bulk vacuum bag roll. It used and sealed those bags without a problem… until it just didn’t anymore. On two different occasions these have now failed me. The first lasted about a year, the second lasted about 6 months. I’m not sure why, they just stopped working one day. They work fine while they work, but I’ll be looking for another brand for my third purchase.
This is a great sealer machine. I purchase many if my meats in bulk/warehouse stores and was looking for a way to keep the meat fresher/longer and this sealer is doing the job! It’s super easy to use and I can freeze my meats for weeks without any changes in the flavor. Instruction manual included and there is some pouches included but I would recommend purchasing additional ones as the ones that come with the machine aren’t many. Very pleased with this purchase!
ok for the price. there is no storage area and no cutter. My old one had both and I went with a cheaper model. It sucks and seals very well, but you have to push hard to close it. (or at least I do) When this one wears out I will get a bigger model, but will stick with this brand again.
A poor substitute for an expensive vacuum sealer. After having three Food Saver units fail in a period of 4 years, I decided to save some money and get away from Foodsaver. This unit is OK, certainly not as complete as a Food Saver, but realistically it is less than 25% of the cost of a food saver, and it works fine.
good price and ease of use. I read couple different units and main focus was functions, ease of use, and vacuum capability/durability.overall, a great product. My wife & I setup a ton of chicken (dicing up/bagging etc).I started with the moist setting which run vacuum little lighter but dont recommend that as wasn’t enough and set to dry (higher vacuum).Worked well. seals well on this setting. Please note the moist or lower vacuum settings is still important as you can use that for softer products (more sensitive).quick to vacuum & seal.Couple Tips: 1)Do read booklet. wait period of time between runs. 2)Dont be in rush to get bag out after sealed/light off…a couple extra seconds helps let the seal cool down. 3)do follow the books guideline on extra length beyond the food at vacuum end. As we were doing chicken, once it gets to final max vacuum it can squeeze some liquid out chicken which can start being pulled to the vacuum machine. However with correct lengths as suggested, no fluid got to the unit before sealing occurred.Only disappointment was I ordered the all black and they sent the stainless. Not big deal.Overall very good product
