TOPS Composition Book with 1/4″ Grids was Perfect. I ordered just one carton first to see what this was like after reading somewhat mediocre reviews. It was exactly as pictured for Amazon Prime – TOPS brand, 4 squares to the inch. I then ordered 8 more cartons, all that were available on Amazon Prime at the time. They were going in our small nonprofit’s backpack project for needy kids in our school district, and these were for middle school kids. I then had to order the remainder of the ones I needed through Amazon Marketplace, and unfortunately the vendor substituted both brand and size of grid. The ones I ordered through Amazon Prime, though, were just what I wanted. The price when I ordered was much better than the later price when these were restocked.
Oxford Composition books by tops. These actually are labeled Oxford Composition Books on the front cover with an made by TOPS on the back. Also, they are not hardcover, it is thicker cardboard, but really flexible. I am happy that they are 4×4 quad ruled. These are OK since I teach 5-year-olds, but they should really advertise them as the Oxford Label.
they’re ok. Not the best. Not the worst. Paper is not the smoothest. Grid lines are dark enough to be seen but light enough not to get in the way of writing with pen or pencil. Cover can be folded to stay open and lie flat (Not possible with the heavy plastic covers from the Pen + Gear brand from the big store around the corner). For the price… they are OK.
Best bang for the buck. I use these composition books for many things. I have one to keep track of my garden, one to keep track of daily and weekly To-Dos, one for my hobby, and one for planning. I love graph paper instead of lined. Easy to create whatever I need…lists, calendars, drawings. Can’t live without them.

Graph lines are too dark. I like everything about these notebooks but the ones I got have really dark graph lines, would prefer slightly less bold lines.

They are graphing notebooks, not composition notebooks. These are graphing notebooks! I looked again and it does say that in the description, but since they’re called composition notebooks, I assumed they had lines.

Ok for the price. I like how good a price it was for this lot. They work for me. Maybe not top quality like other more expensive brands. So far though they do the job and have been holding up. I like these more than spiral note books as nothing gets in the way while writing.
