  1. I have yet to really try, because it’s impossible to do so. I purchased these to allow me to continue use the pens & pencils I so love, as I have joint hypermobility that caused a carpal boss and bone spur in my right hand that affects my ability to write (as well as doing anything else on the planet). So my reason for purchasing these was to correct my poor writing posture that was exacerbating my finger and hand pain. Writing became extremely painful in less than 20 minutes on a good day, and my death grip on the writing utensil wasn’t helping. Proper posture and therefor “PenAgain” was recommended by my physical therapist, but as I said I wanted to use my personal arsenal. So I purchased these with high hopes.Unfortunately, they aren’t helping much. They are made of very sticky, thick and unstretchable rubber. Well, they stretch long wise, but getting them on and off of a pencil or pen is impossible. I broke a mechanical pencil trying to rip the damn thing off to place it elsewhere!! The hole in the grip is so small and so inflexible that you have to apply exorbitant amounts of pressure to get it half an inch up the pencil! It causes pain before it comes anywhere near its destination. And taking it off? Prepare for a wrestling match with a piece of rubber. It can take a few minutes just to “slide” the thing off. The rubber is so sticky and the hole is so narrow that it refuses to move in any direction, and seems to suction to the pencil and create an unrelenting, immovable seal.I tried stretching out the first off the three step teaching tool on a random pen for a few days. If that made any sort of difference, it was unnoticeable. I am considering taking a hair dryer and a speculum to the little bastards and stretching them out that way. We’ll see.As for the tools themselves, they do help me keep good posture, which is why the 3 stars. They are preeeettty low quality, but these were very cheap so you get what you pay for; however, the rubber they are made of are sticky parasites on a constant hunt for hairs, dirt, and other fibers to add to their general unattractiveness.I will keep giving them a chance and attempting to make them more pliable, but if you are someone who doesn’t mind the cost and enjoys the convenience of a new pen/cil in the form of PenAgain, I recommend that instead.

  3. Very handy in teaching children how to hold a pencil properly. I have used these with my daughter and my son. They have been soooo helpful when teaching them how to use the correct form. I love how they adapt to what stage they are in their understanding. My daughter has used each of these to master her form and I was able to save then to use with my son who is still on the first stage (cobra head gripper). The only thing I wish was different is the ability to fit on different sized pencils. I have to use these on my smallest pencils and even then, it can be difficult to get them on. Other than that, these are amazing!

  9. 3-Step Training set came with 3 but was missing Step 2. I ordered the 3-Step Training set, which is supposed to include the Crossover Grip (step 1, green), Pinch Grip (step 2, red), and Pencil Grip (step 3, blue). I received instead Crossover Grip (step 1, green, Pencil Grip (step 3, blue), and the pink one which the included insert describes as a “Jumbo Grip.” I specifically chose this product because the graduated steps seemed helpful in teaching my kid how to properly hold a pencil, so it’s pretty annoying to be missing the middle step. I gave it three stars because the blue third step grip is comfortable in my adult hand and I think it’ll eventually help him hold a pencil comfortably with proper form, and I can see how the step 1 green grip is a good starting point for him. I imagine that if I got the red step 2 pinch grip that was advertised instead of the pink jumbo grip, I would have been pretty satisfied with this purchase.

  11. Works but a little bulky for small hands. Got these and come golf pencils for my son for school (kinder) he needed a bit of help gripping pencils. The regular pencils were a bit heavy for him so the golf pencils with the grippers have been helpful to his handwriting. These work for left or right hands. It also gives you instructions for the different grippers depending on your child’s needs.

  13. Great for kids to try out. I got this pack for kids to experiment with different grips, and these are great options. Exactly what I needed.

Better than expected. My grandson was having such a hard time holding his pencil but this little device couldn’t have been made any better first time of him trying was a hit melted my heart

  15. Great options for pencil gripping for my 5 year old. Very squishy and comfortable, easy to show and ease.

Very helpful with grip strength. My son has dysgraphia as well as poor hand strength. He has been working in OT to strengthen his grip and they suggested this for when he is writing. He told me it helps his hand not feel tired as quickly! I bought a few back ups incase he loses them!

  19. Helps him hold pencil. Helps him hold pencil and write.

  20. Good. Good

  21. Amazing. My 4th grader has always had bad handwriting and a terrible pencil grip (he uses his thumb and ring finger) that we have slowly tried to correct with no luck. Now that he has been doing more cursive at school, he is really struggling due to his improper pencil grip. I ordered a few different training grips for him to try over summer break and this was the hands down winner – he instantly was able to really FEEL how to hold the pencil properly and after a few tries he could hold the pencil properly without the guides (but he still needs them because he will slowly gravitate back to his improper grip). The 3 step system is great because we were able to use the crossover to start with over the summer, and by the time school started he was able to use the more basic pencil grip so it doesn’t look like a ‘training’ tool in class. Now his little brothers use them for fun and the basic pencil grip is more comfortable for their little hands! Wish I had bought these much sooner.

  23. Don’t expect to get the colors shown. These are good but I was a bit bummed that I didn’t get the colors show in the photos. They work as they should, no issues there.
