Learning curve. First filled to the 1/4 cup line and nuked for 3 minutes since the instructions suggest 2-4 minutes. Wrong! Batch came out scorched and I thought the bowl was ruined with the burns. Hmm…can I return this? I decided to give it another go. 1/4 cup corn again. The “burned” marks washed right out. Set timer for 2:45, stopped after 2:18. Great batch of corn resulted. Nothing burned. Maybe could go a few seconds longer.I first thought that all kernels had popped, but some remained in the bottom of the popcorn bowl. There were a few more than I usually leave when using a Dutch oven with oil and I get a bigger batch. (Sometimes I manged to get them all to pop!) Maybe with a little more practice with this bowl I will too. Waiting for 5 seconds between pops before you take the bowl out of the microwave might be a tad too late. The corn tastes great! I was afraid it would taste like the styrofoam corn that you’d get out of an air popper, but it doesn’t.I’m used to having popcorn left over to eat later, but the 1/4 cup made just about the amount I usually eat at a time anyway. I have yet to try the 1/2 cup of popcorn. There’s no big clean up of an oiled Dutch oven to do aftwards, so I can quickly make more if I want.
Ready for Movie Night. Needing an extra popper, I decided to give this one a try. And so far, it’s worked just fine.It has been convenient to store, folding down to a smaller size when not in use and popping up to full size when used. The measuring indicator rings inside are a nice touch. But I would recommend a 1/3 cup / 42 grams. You don’t have to be exact, but more will easily blow the top off the popper depending on the corn you are using. But how does it work? Surprisingly well. Simply pour in the corn. As I would recommend against the highest amounts claimed, I would stay well under that line. Place the lid on top – usually drops down to about 1/3 of the way. It will rise as the corn pops. Using no oil, I set the microwave for 5 minutes – note DO NOT USE your machines “popcorn” setting unless you like burned results. Also your time will vary due to your machine. Typically at about 1:45 to 2:00 remaining all the corn has popped. Stop the microwave when you can go about 5 seconds from the last pop.Drawbacks – even with the “tabs” the container will be hot, even after a few minutes. (And who wants cold popcorn anyway). A simple napkin is more than enough extra protection. Lid is a bit floppy, but no big deal with a convenient tab to hold. It’s not needed but a little oil might have helped flavor the corn while popping. They recommend against it as it just makes it tougher to clean.Overall – works just fine for me. Reading through the “negative” comments – the biggest mistake seems to be not knowing your microwave. The times will vary depending on its power. After the first few minutes you need to listen for when it stops popping and turn off the microwave at that point. And while it pains me to say it, avoid adding oil or butter to the popper. Dump the freshly popped corn into a bowl and add the salt and butter (or other topping) at that point.
very good and fun to use. This is a follow up to my original revue. I am 85 years old and have used this popper several times. I am still pleased with the performance and will continue using it. As to the negative revues, I can only assertain that they did not follow the directions or didn’t pay attention to what they were doing. I have found, in most items revued, that the negative revues are many times caused by the usere not following directions. I Practiced several ways to pop corn with this popper and found the best way was to follow the directions (duh) Added butter/oil and popcorn salt after popping and believe it’s as good as theater popocorn. Quick, Easy, Tasty. Bought a second one for my son and his boys they think it really great. Would definitly recommend for anyone liking popcorn.

Perfect Popcoen. I love this popcorn popper. I’m always putting it in one of our other bowls. I usually pop it on the stove because I like to burn a few kernels since I like burnt popcorn. However, this is perfect movie popcorn. All you need to do is buy the Flavacol and butter flavored coconut oil. It only takes a drop of Flavacol. I put the microwave on five minutes, and then I just stop it when the popcorn kernels are barely popping. It tastes exactly like the movie popcorn, which I am addicted to. I used a half teaspoon of the Flavacol, and that was too much because some of the popcorn was a little bit too salty so it only takes a very little. That’s the secret to movie popcorn. Be careful because the bowl that you pop it in stays hot for a long, long time. I had to put it on top of a towel. If you plan on serving it to children, or just eating it yourself, just make sure that you set it on something so that you don’t get burned because it holds heat. For children, I wouldn’t give it to them for at least 15 minutes because it stayed hot the entire time that I was eating it.. This is a really nice product, plus you can shrink it for great storage. A+++
Exceptional Product. This is the perfect product for those who love popcorn. This is an inexpensive solution to making popcorn. You may have to play with the microwave settings in order to have most of the kernels pop. The kernels that did not pop can be left in the container and be popped again. I have found that 3 minutes in my microwave is ideal. The popcorn setting on my microwave did not produce adequate results. The popcorn can be eaten and stored in this container. Note: Add flavorings after the kernels are popped. Spray oil on the finished popcorn and then add seasonings.Steve, NJ
Great Popcorn Popper. I love popcorn. Hearing about the toxic issues with bagged microwaved popcorn, I opted to just pop my own using a pyrex bowl. Not all Pyrex is made the same anymore and that bowl got seriously hot and made me worry about it breaking. Not to mention burns from pulling it out of the microwave. BUT THE FLAVOR! CHEFS KISS.This seemed like a better option, and it IS!The recommendation is to use no oil which is fine.I have tried with just a little bit of olive oil and if I am attentive while it’s popping that works for me — though this is not recommended. I did have a burn-out my first try.Popcorn popped this way is so superior in taste to bagged popcorn, I can’t even tell you how much better it is. Now planning to buy one for work too! And honestly… maybe some holiday gifts I love it that much.
Works. It works great. I am trying to eat better so that included no longer eating store bought microwave popcorn. I like them, but too many chemicals and preservatives etc…The 1st use it popped all but 7 kernals…2nd pop I burned it! 1st time to ever burn microwave popcorn and man does it stink!!!! I couldn’t get the smell out of the silicone so I just trashed it and I’m currently waiting for a new one to replace it.My tip is get all your extras out and ready so you don’t get distracted from the popping. My microwave took only a lil over two min to pop a bowl full.
Great Product that Works Well. I’ve been using this popcorn popper for about three weeks and it works just as advertised. I end up with a bowl of perfectly popped corn with only a few unpopped kernels. To achieve my result, I use a measuring cup to measure out 1/4 cup of unpopped corn instead of eyeballing the amount added by using the rings inside the popper. Set the lid on very lightly and do not push down on it – I angle the lid slightly with a small gap to ensure it hasn’t created a seal. Finally, you need to watch the time very closely as a few seconds too long will cause the popcorn to start to burn. You will need to determine the best popping time for your unit, but for me, 2 minutes and 11 seconds is perfect.
I wish I had gotten this sooner. I loved it! I’ve only used it once, but it worked perfectly and I plan to use it frequently as I’m always hosting get togethers for movies or games. I only wish someone had told me about this sooner because I was getting very very sick of the very salty and oily microwave popcorn that the stores carried. Even the light butter or light salt was too salty for me due to my high blood pressure. So making my own popcorn healthier in the same fashion as I’m used to (in the microwave) is a dream come true. I highly recommend this to all if they want to save money, eat healthier popcorn, and learn to create their own great flavorings.
works great in microwave. this replaced my large space-taking oil-free popcorn popper. not need for an extra conveniently located outlet to plug into. it is soo easy to use. easy to compress and store in microwave or elsewhere. I have used it for many months now and I love it. it doesn’t make as much popcorn but it is quick enough to make another batch. to clean just dust or rinse it out. you can use it as a serving bowl as well, but I usually transfer to something more solid.. like a ceramic or wooden bowl to add oils or seasoning. it just tastes like popcorn, no plastic flavor. . Be careful, its hot when it comes out of microwave. and it can overflow if filled above the line. so far no harm done.
These are excellent. I’ve used this type before, and these are as good as any I’ve used. I bought a pretty pink one for myself, and then my oldest son (who is diabetic and needs many simple, healthy snack options) started using it so much that when I needed it it was always in use or still in his room. I went back to these and bought another, in black, that is JUST for him to use! Lol. Working well for us both! I love the color options for these. And the price is appreciated! I think these were the least expensive, of this type, that is sold on Amazon. But they are in no way inferior to the others! Same material, same size, same quality. On 1st use, I added kernals to the top fill line. It popped so much that I had to take it out early to keep it from overflowing in the microwave! I’d never has that happen in years of using others, with the same popcorn. It will pop a bit higher than the side of the bowl usually when filled to the top line, but this was going several inches higher than that! Lol. So now I’m using less popcorn. 😀 For those who may be wondering about adding oil/butter inside the popper: I’ve never tried butter, but for years, while using this same type of popper, I added the kernels, then would add 1 tbsp, or so, of Orville butter flavored oil, then even sprinkled popcorn salt over that, then put in microwave. The oil and salt would dispense over the kernels as they popped, with a delicious result! Never once did it cause a problem for my popper, or the microwave. And I don’t think it changed the popping time, either. It does require washing the popper after using, since there is oil left inside of it. I’ve read people saying all sorts of things about adding stuff to it, so I wanted to say my own experience. And, I am a daily popcorn eater, btw. This popper is relatively easy to clean (I do it by hand), and simple to fold down when you want to save space during storage. It’s also very light weight, so can easily be stored on top of other items without concern. Buying this item is a great choice for anyone!

Popcorn Maker. This product works great! Every Kernel of the popcorn is popped. Very light and tasty depending on what spices you use after popping! We prefer salt and butter. Highly recommend! Well worth the money.
Great Popper. I love this popcorn popper! it works like a charm and is quick, easy, and a healthier option for microwave popcorn. I also love that it’s dishwasher safe and collapses nicely for storing.
Pops Every Kernel. I purchased this as a gift after using my own for a couple of years now. You can pop popcorn without oil and not waste one kernel. You control the amount of butter and salt and know there are no other ingredients added. The 4 stars is because the container is a little flimsy when used as a serving bowl. Other than that no complaints. Clean up is easy and it collapses for easy storage. If you want a much healthier alternative to prepackaged microwave popcorn try this popcorn popper. You’ll love it!
great simple product. This popper quickly makes nice tasty popcorn in the microwave. I have a 1.56 KW GE microwave oven, and I put 1/3 cup of Orville Redenbacher kernels in the popper and popped it for 2m35sec (per my experience of popping in a paper bag before receiving this popper) and the popcorn turned out great. Very little if any burning of the kernels and I literally had about 3 unpopped kernels. I also tried 1/4 cup and popped that for 2 minutes with the same result. Simply set the lid in the popper after adding the kernels without pressing down and you’re all set.It rinses out easily and is easy to use. It doesn’t get too hot to handle (the popper has two handles) and the popcorn falls out of the popper easily into another container/bowl so you can add toppings.A great simple to use product at a great price.
Easy to use and makes great air popcorn. We ordered one about a year ago and love it. Easy to use, clean and store. Makes great popcorn without oil . We use white truffle oil spray and The Blend seasoning and it is fantastic without the calories. I just bought 3 more for our adult kids and tgey love it too. Highly recommend.

Easy to use, clean and store. Just lovely results, crisp and tasty. Sometimes we sprinkle seasoned salts after popping, but just plain kernels going in. If you like popcorn and eat a lot of it, this is probably a good fit for you.
Easy to Use & Store. This was great! The bowl is a little flimsy and it does get a little warm/hot but this worked great for me! It was so easy to clean and I love how you can collapse the bowl for easy storage. I noted the comments about burning, but I didn’t have this issue. I would buy this item again and would recommend. It’s easy to use and the popcorn tasted great!
Perfection in Every Kernal. Through the years I have made popcorn using several different methods-on the stove, in a bag, using a whirley pot, etc. And lately I was using an air popper and was satisfied with the results; that is, until I discovered the Microwaveable Silicone Popcorn Popper, and what can I say! This little gem makes delicious popcorn in the microwave in just a few minutes with very few old maids. The silicone popper is so much easier to use than an air popper because it is lightweight, easy to handle, easy to clean and because it is collapsible, takes up very little space, unlike a bulky air popper. I have been using my silicone popper for almost five years (mine is red, a happy color) and it is still good as new. Using the silicone popcorn popper is a quick and easy way to make a healthy snack. I don’t use any oil or butter, but instead, I spray the popped corn with a no-calorie popcorn seasoning spray. This is a great popcorn popper and using it is a simple and fast method of making a yummy snack.

works great in microwave. this replaced my large space-taking oil-free popcorn popper. not need for an extra conveniently located outlet to plug into. it is soo easy to use. easy to compress and store in microwave or elsewhere.

Fluffy oil-free popcorn. Easy to use, easy to clean. Space saving. Pops every kernel quickly and folds flat for storage.
Popcorn Maker. This product works great! Every Kernel of the popcorn is popped. Very light and tasty depending on what spices you use after popping! We prefer salt and butter. Highly recommend! Well worth the money.
Easy and Healthy Snacking. Space saving, easy to clean, fits a decent amount of kernels and works well. No need for butter or oil
It works like a charm. It easy to use. Pops to the last kernel. Cleans easily. I love it. No more burnt corn and burnt pots.
